I seriously don’t understand the “Try not to sing challenges”. I mean, I get the try not to laugh challenges because laughing is involuntary. Singing isn’t. It’s like having a “Try not to walk in a circle challenge”. “Oh man! I can’t be leave I just did that! I didn’t even notice me getting up and walking around” is just as weird to me as saying “Oh man! I can’t believe I just did that! I didn’t even notice me start to sing!”

I watched these back in like 2010-2012 and they felt like they had a bigger purpose back then. It was only Kids React and Teens React at the time and they both existed for more purpose than popularity. Kids would react to funny viral videos and it was just cute and wholesome since kids always say weird shit, and the teens often focused on tougher topics and it gave insight on how teens think of more hard hitting subjects like school shootings, suicide and racism. I thought that was very interesting at the time but it’s clearly a shell now.

Fine Bros. is popular for the same reason that watchmojo or screenrant is popular: They pump out so many videos with compelling titles that pretty much everyone has seen at least one of their videos. So even if their content isn't good enough to keep most people hooked for more than a few videos they are able to stay afloat simply by following trends and getting into people's recommended.

They soon added Teens React which was still solid. Honestly though, they probably shouldn've quit there, and then stopped when videos were supplanted by still memes. But that's just my take

We all know the reason they react to things, people like to see the reaction of other people to stuff they are interested in, and the greater the reaction, the more viewer will like it. That is why reactions seem exagerated at times. Although, you could argue it's more of an hyperbole of their true feelings.

Crazy how this is basically the same thing that Charlie and a lot of others have been doing on stream ever since react content became popular on TH-cam/Twitch. Unpopular opinion: the finebros reaction videos used to be good when it was one of the few reaction series you could get at the time, right now it's just repetitive and forced.
I haven't watched any of their videos lately, but I generally liked the reactions from John Douglass in the past TH-camrs React videos... just the right amount of sarcasm every time.
I think the whole react theme just shows how isolated we all are, because watching reaction videos is kind of a placeholder for watching videos with your friends and you discuss and enjoy it together - but we don't have anyone sitting there with us anymore, so we get these people to react for us (or for our friends) so we feel less lonely. It's like the millenial generation having Friends reruns uninterrupted in the background so we feel like we are with others in our cold little lonely room.

They soon added Teens React which was still solid. Honestly though, they probably shouldn've quit there, and then stopped when videos were supplanted by still memes. But that's just my take

I think the whole react theme just shows how isolated we all are, because watching reaction videos is kind of a placeholder for watching videos with your friends and you discuss and enjoy it together - but we don't have anyone sitting there with us anymore, so we get these people to react for us (or for our friends) so we feel less lonely. It's like the millenial generation having Friends reruns uninterrupted in the background so we feel like we are with others in our cold little lonely room.
