It's always hilarious to see someone from outside reacting to the ''mandelão'' genre hahaha (it's the fourth song by the way, and the producer was Dj Ramenes)
@@rmac0101 There are several names, and you can find most of their work on TH-cam. Since funk comes from the suburbs, many people there don't use premium services like Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, etc., so it became common to upload funk sets and albums on TH-cam. By searching for genres like Mandelão, Funk 150bpm, Beat Bruxaria, or Funk Automotivo, you'll find various artists. For me, DJ Ramenes is still the best, by the way.
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS MY GUY a few recommendations: SMILE :D - Porter Robinson (pop-punk, pop, electronic) Process - Sampha (experimental r&b, great production) Koi No Yokan - Deftones (very heavy, sexier and heavier radiohead imo) Hypochondriac - Brakence (very experimental emo rap, glitch pop) Reading Writing And Arithmetic - The Sundays (the smiths ish, with beautiful female vocals)
Recomendation: By The Time I Get To Phoenix - Injury Reserve It is a very experimental emotional rap album and it has some amazing production (it samples Black vountry new road and black midi for example)
I stayed up midnight yesterday to listen to it and I'm glad I did. The first track was beautiful and this is my first jpeg I've listened to beginning to end.
Funny you pointed out, that "it's dark and hell is hot" sounded latin, as that was co-produced with a brazilian funk Dj, called Dj Ramemes. That was a big surprise for me lol.
only peggy has the talent to mix hard rock bangers with angelic ass songs in the same album while rapping over all of it and making it make sense love the reaction btw
backpacking off what someone else said.. gotta see you review "by the time i get to phoenix" by injury reserve if you haven't heard it.. will blow you away
The single version for Don't rely on other men is actually very different from the album version. it doesn't have the orchestra parts of the ending section and tbh I might prefer it, but its honestly personal preference. Def worth checking out anyways
You should really check out John Cales Paris 1919! Amazing orchestral pop/rock album, one of my favorite albums ever. He was originally in the velvet underground as the guy pushing for the more experimental elements of their music before being kicked out by Lou Reed after their 2nd album
recs: Quasi - Featuring "Birds" (Awesome Built to Spill-esque/Pacific Northwest indie rock, same label as Modest Mouse, Built to Spill, Duster etc) The Breeders - Pod (Unique early 90s alt rock, Steve Albini prod, was in Kurt Cobain's top 3 albums of all time) Slint - Tweez (Sick late 80s post-hardcore/math rock, also Steve Albini prod) Pinback - Pinback (Very chill and creative late 90s indie rock) Modest Mouse - This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About (Amazing album, very nearly as good as The Lonesome Crowded West) Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles (Insanely badass aura filled production and vocals, extremely unique) Weezer - Pinkerton (Some of the nicest sounding guitar/drums/everything you'll hear in 90s alt rock, with crazy honest lyrics, ended up inspiring some emo bands) The Prodigy - The Fat Of The Land (badass big-beat dance music) Guided By Voices - Bee Thousand (lovely 90's lo-fi) Hella - Hold Your Horse Is (Math Rock with the drummer from Death Grips, before he was in Death Grips) Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain (Absolutely perfect 90's indie rock album)
you should definitely do Armand hammer. Their album We buy diabetic test strips from last year is amazing and features Jpeg Production. Also the last song Doves which they added this year is an amazing Post Rock piece
