The usual reason for bad adhesion to EPO/EPP is the mold-release compound residue. The way to remove this (for best glue adhesion in repairs or when adding stickers) is to first clean and/or sand the surface. Sticking some of that transparent reinforced tape over the leds as well as the wires will improve their lifespan also. ;-)
