So coming from a hunter. It’s impossible to even get a sense on harvest rates considering these studies focus on cows and calves which have minimal opportunities in the province coming from regulated hunting stand point. Would be awesome rather than a visible collar which is a deterrent for any hunter to deal with the hassle to possibly get chipped ear tags? Just input from someone who doesn’t know the technology available to our wildlife professionals but it would be nice to know what mortality rates us hunters actually have to effect the species on the sex we target. Obviously the main factors all derive from deforestation which enable all predators including ourselves to be more successful due to lack of cover and ever expanding access, not to mention the effects on feed and other factors revealed from the UNBC study but as mentioned, I know it’s less likely individuals are willing to shoot collared animals and would be nice if there was some sort of dark collared ear tag instead that wasn’t so visible otherwise we rely on the questionnaires which are no where near active with how few I’ve heard fill out. Any feedback would be awesome thank you!

The unregulated hunt is the reason for moose population decline. What do you think happens when you shoot every moose you see all year long. If you don’t follow the hunting synopsis don’t claim to be interested in conservation.

Thank you for telling me you didn’t watch or pay attention to the video or any other studies without telling me you didn’t watch or pay attention to the video or any other studies. 13% of mortalities was unlicensed and the poaching in this province is out of control based on conservation research and updates but deforestation is the root of every factor as it has enabled all predators including humans to hunt easier. This isn’t even accurate for numbers on regulated hunting as it focuses on cows and calves which there are hardly any opportunities for so they will never get accurate harvest numbers.

@@MrGarymuldoon thx for letting me know my 25 years working directly related to this issue has no merit. Mind you I heard it daily from all the know it alls who never put a boot on the ground.

@Sam Spade lmfao 25 years eh? What as a prejudice hunter? So you know more than our wildlife professionals who produce factual science from field studies focusing solely on the subject which they dedicate their lives to? What data and field work did you do buddy? I noticed how you didn’t address the fact that we have zero data on what we hunters actually harvest considering these studies don’t focus on the sex we target. You are an absolute clown

@samspade1841 no sorry it absolutely doesn’t when you’re just a joe blow armchair biologist and didn’t retain absolutely any data or information from the studies conducted by professionals who dedicate their life to the work :(
