Y’all are speaking my R&B lingo!!!! Grew up with this in my house. The bass line is so fire 🔥….that keyboard riff is way too infectious….such sweet romantic lyrics too….u can’t go wrong with Delegation ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Here are some more bands/songs from the 70s and some that got their start in the 60s to check out - The spinners - it’s a shame (Jay will appreciate the falsetto); The o’jays - for the love of money, I love music, backstabbers, stairway to heaven; Isley brothers - shout, this old heart of mine, it’s your thing, harvest for the world, EWF - "I'll Write A Song For You", "After the Love Is Gone", "That's the Way of The World", "Devotion"; Others like Sing A Song, In the Stone, Serpentine Fire, Getaway are more up tempo with the horns; Slave - Just A Touch of Love, Watching You, Slide; Midnight Star - Freak-A-Zoid; Atlantic Starr - If Your Heart Isn't In It, Secret Lovers, Always; and a female band, the Emotions - flowers, don’t ask my neighbors, I don’t wanna lose your love.
Never heard this one before. Nice groove. See that's one point, Amber. They were our Ladies! Looking, hearing, feeling all in a total state of awe that beauty such as that existed, and in the form of a lady! Wow,. And you're in your 20s. Thank you. Great tune.
Great song to react to. Its immaculate. I remember the first time I heard it, I almost fell off my chair because I'm like damn that's the sample to 'Funky Dividends' by Three Times Dope. The lyrics are beautiful, the music is so smooth - the intro just sucks you in.
Another great tune that i have never heard before! See, this is why i love watching you guys reacting to music from my era (70s & 80s), & i always get nice suprises like this one. Thank you for that. ❤🎼💃🕺
"What's Come Over Me" by Blue Magic (All the falsetto you love)and "La La La Means I Love You" and "Didn't I Blow Your Mind" 2 major soul classics by the Delfonics.
This song takes me back to my early 20's sitting on my verandah looking out at the Caribbean sea on a warm moonlight night. I forgot this sweet song❤❤❤ thanks for the memories. 9:13
Oh Honey..this made me smile!❤️❤️. This is a song, Jay, where you hold your girl in your arms and just sway..in the kitchen, low lights, barefeet…babies sound asleep!
Such a sweet song. Lead singer Marcel King was only 16 years old when Sweet Sensation had this UK #1 hit in 1974. He sadly passed away at the age of 37 from a brain haemorrhage. I've played this a lot of late, such a lovely song. ❤
Yes loved the song when it came out but never knew who they were until recently…. I guess that beautiful song wasn’t pushed too much here in the States,I couldn’t find them on American Bandstand Or Soul Train.
Hi, Jay and Amber! You guys made my day with this reaction, this is my favorite Delegation song. They have many great songs like "Put A Little Love on Me", "You and I", "It's Your Turn", "Welcome To My World " to name a few. May I suggest you guys to try "Don't Fight The Feeling" by Enchantment, a group from Detroit. You won't be disappointed. Cheers from Brazil!
Beautiful song smooth R&B.but still hopeing for a reaction to The Delfonics Philly soul "Didn't I" ( Blow Your Mind This Time ) or" La La Means I Love You". 70s
THE FLOATERS - NO STRONGER LOVE 1977 Fantastic ! Rhythm and Fantastic Vocals R&B Motown Soul, You'll definitely like this song it's got all the perfect beats. Ranging from Sax Keyboard Strings great Bass & Drums and the way it was arranged Musically was ✨⭐ ✨ magical . 🎷 🎸 🥁 🎹 🎵 🎶 🎷 🎻
I remember hearing this track being played back in the late 70s on stations out of LA, Chicago, and New York that I'd pick up on my dad's shortwave radio. What makes this track so brilliant is that it's timeless, it could easily be modern electronic R&B of today. The only reason this track wasn't played more was it's 6 minute length, which kept it off many stations.
Los acabo de conocer apenas y gracias a ustedes estoy descubriendo más música de la que me gusta. Soy de México, pero siempre me sentí identificado con su música de los 50*,60*,70* & 80* en inglés. Sigan reaccionando a la verdadera musica😊
The Manhattan shining star,The Five stairsteps oooh child. The Dells stay in my corner, Sony Till and the Orioles crying in the chapel. All classic!! 😎
Love this oldie I listen to it every day thanks to my older siblings I’m from Southern California and to all my chicanos love this jam, please react to float on by the floaters that’s another amazing oldie
" MYSTERIOUS VIBES - THE BLACKBYRDS 1978 Smooth R&B.Motown Soul Romance classics. Very similar in Style with a ton of groovy Instruments that sound soooooo gooooood .Funk and Soul perfect blend. 🎺 🎻 🎸 🎹 Highly recommend it it's Awesome 👍😎👍 just like Oh Honey 🍯
One of my favorite songs. Hearing this song always triggers my mental jukebox to ‘Can This Be Real?’ by the Natural Four and Enchantment tunes ‘It’s You That I Need’ ‘Where Do We Go From Here’ ‘ Gloria’ ‘Sunshine’ ‘Silly Love Song Then, Tavares’ ‘ Never Had a Love Like This Before’. Jay & Amber, if you’re reading Tavares is another awesome family group that I think you’ll love. OCDs can be very debilitating, but I’m glad that mine seemed to have me focused on music most of the time.
This great song, along with "Float On" by the Floaters, were the all-time soul vamps of the late '70s, designed to make you drift away on a musical dream. Thanks for giving it a spin. You might also want to return to Frankie Beverly & Maze sometime -- Golden Time of Day, Joy and Pain, Happy Feelins -- for the same smooth style.
Sometimes a hit overseas is not a hit in the states. This song peaked at #45 in the states. Jay/Amber react to a disco tinged song "Disco Nights (Rock Freak) by GQ. I think you will like it!😎
This song hit number 45 on the US Pop charts. On the Billboard US R&B charts it was top ten smash!! Going to number six!! Get your facts straight before you start posting buddy!!
I bought this 45 record when this song came out in 1978. I still have it and still listen to it often. Great song choice to react to. I never hear it on the radio anymore. A forgotten classic.
i was 12 when this came out here in charlotte NC,,,,remember my mom and her friends listening to her stereo and getting drunk, listening to this and other stuff being played on wpeg
As for a suggestion for a song, chic, my feet keep dancing. Not one of their more well known songs but it comes off the risque album, which is considered their best work and your boy jay here would go wild over the bernard edwards bass guitar work.
...missing a few lines of verse in the song LOL *wears her heart on her sleeve, ooooh, drippin' love all over me, ooooh, she's the Queen Bee! ooooooooh honey!*
I haven't heard this song in forever. I still love it. Great song to step to. In Chicago, stepping is a style of dance, something like a slow jitterbug.
When song came out it was the riding slow in your lowrider through the big park we hung out in, with a fine lady, showing her off and your low low. Then parking and chilling with folks just having a good time.
GAWD... I haven't heard this song in sooo long. R&B classic. Good slow dance song. 😉 (Back in the day, junior high or high school had dances, some of us guys would wait for slow songs, just so we could ask that one girl we always wanted to hold close)
Not Commodores, but Floaters....The 70's , when being in love was out of this world. When you have to talk to the girl directly, and ask her to be your girl, in person. Sometimes it was Yes, sometimes it was No. The times when you could say all you feelings in one song. Times of respect and honor to have the girl that rocked your world by you side. Only one girl that was your pillar, and not five that weren't. The times of summer romance, listening to this kind of songs in the park and, for the most part, for some of us; times of first love, and innocence.....
This is a great song that I had completely forgotten about. I was so young when I heard this and it just carried me along in that quintessential 70s long play groove.
❤ I love that song! " You and I, stand with our heads held up high! Me and you, together whatever we do! I had forgotten that song! Thank you for reminding me of a beautiful classic!❤❤❤
If you’re not listening to this track on headphones, you’re missing out. Classic production ✌️
About to say that! I’m glad they have good sound on their channel to play on my speakers!
Headphones or good quality car speakers with bass and treble up 🥰🥰🥰🤤🤤🤤🥰
Such a great song! Check out a group called The Delfonics. "Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time)" is one of their famous hits. We ❤ the 70's!
And some more Stylistics
....and "La la la Means I love You" by the Delfonics
Agreed, they definitely should hit some more Phily soul.
This was my jam back in the day 🥰 could put anyone in the mood 😍
Y’all are speaking my R&B lingo!!!! Grew up with this in my house. The bass line is so fire 🔥….that keyboard riff is way too infectious….such sweet romantic lyrics too….u can’t go wrong with Delegation ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
See this is why reactors are important! I’m a music person. But you guys introduced me to new music ❤
Same!
I am listening to this song, and feel the same as you. I grew up during this decade and never heard this song before. It’s wonderful. ☺️☺️☺️

YES INDEED!!!!
This is a stepping song
Everyone would get on the floor with their best moves
All eyes would be on the dancefloor
Hip Hop group The U.M.C.'s sampled this song on their song 'Blue Cheese' in 1991.
Total sampled this music for their remix of Kissing You.
y'all lovin' those british 1 hit wonders
Delegation was a one hit wonder?
No they weren’t because they changed their name to Invisible Man’s Band and hit in the 80s. With da All Night Thing
Oh, wow. It's been so long since I heard this song. Love the same vibe like we hear with the Floaters "Float On". God, I loved this time in music.
This was my Jam back in the day. Still is today.
This is a gem of a song. 2 chord wonder with a great melody line, great harmonies, that bass... just beautiful.
A hip hop group that sampled this tune is Three Times Dope . the song name -Funky Dividends.
Never heard this one before. Nice groove. See that's one point, Amber. They were our Ladies! Looking, hearing, feeling all in a total state of awe that beauty such as that existed, and in the form of a lady! Wow,. And you're in your 20s. Thank you. Great tune.
Funky dividends - three times dope 😂,love that old groove. Honey is the backbone to this
Great song to react to. Its immaculate. I remember the first time I heard it, I almost fell off my chair because I'm like damn that's the sample to 'Funky Dividends' by Three Times Dope. The lyrics are beautiful, the music is so smooth - the intro just sucks you in.
This Is The Jam!
This is such a wonderful and timeless piece. It's been with me for decades it's too good.
Delegation has been so underrated all this time. They absolutely deserve more recognition.
I love this music ❤
Another great tune that i have never heard before! See, this is why i love watching you guys reacting to music from my era (70s & 80s), & i always get nice suprises like this one. Thank you for that. ❤🎼💃🕺
"What's Come Over Me" by Blue Magic (All the falsetto you love)and "La La La Means I Love You" and "Didn't I Blow Your Mind" 2 major soul classics by the Delfonics.
You got good musical taste! 👌
Gotta add in anything my the Stylistics…You Make Me Feel Brand New Break Up, To Make Up or anything else…
🎶 long but smooth intro. Oh Honey I dedicated to my wife (soon to be) at the time
This song takes me back to my early 20's sitting on my verandah looking out at the Caribbean sea on a warm moonlight night. I forgot this sweet song❤❤❤ thanks for the memories. 9:13
They also changed their name to The Invisible Man Band and had a funky track called “All Night Thing”
This is a sweet song haven't heard it in a long time
I absolutely love this...I had forgotten all about it! I remember as a kid hearing this playing on the radio!!
Jay and Amber a rapper took a sampled from this and put it their his song. Rap band called The Geto Boys the song is called Quickie.
OMG! I know this song, just one of those songs whose name I never caught. Thank you guys!
Oh Honey..this made me smile!❤️❤️. This is a song, Jay, where you hold your girl in your arms and just sway..in the kitchen, low lights, barefeet…babies sound asleep!
They’re from the Uk. Check out another R&B/Soul band from England , Sweet Sensation - Sad Sweet Dreamer ( Jackson 5 vibes).
In my top ten of all time favs
The long version 👏🏾 Shout out to all my skaters! ✌🏽
Great song. You should check out the Linda Williams cover of this from 79'. Absolute hidden gem.
Hi, Jay and Amber! You guys made my day with this reaction, this is my favorite Delegation song. You 2 are wonderful!
Beautiful song smooth R&B.but still hopeing for a reaction to The Delfonics Philly soul "Didn't I" ( Blow Your Mind This Time ) or" La La Means I Love You". 70s
Really like this group. Bought the record "Eau de Vie" in the 80's on vinyl. Still have it.
I first heard this beat because puff used this beat in a remix but this original hits too!
It was Total’s, “Kissing you” remix!
Baby making music! 😍
This was the jam! We used to slow dance to this song. Such great memories!
Beautiful late night jam right here. Thanks for reacting to this beautiful classic Jay and Amber 😊
Another great tune from the late 70's is "Disco Nights" by GQ, I know you two like Disco, so this is right up your alley. A dancefloor classic!
A 1978 groove. Disco was hot but we were still jamming to funk and soul.
"Oh Honey" and "You & I" samples have become Vaporwave staples in the 2020s.

Cruising down the ave with my homeboy Boove. Laying back like jack mellowing into the groove.
Great reaction. Such a great classic love song from the 70's. Thank You.
The Manhattan shining star,The Five stairsteps oooh child. The Dells stay in my corner, Sony Till and the Orioles crying in the chapel. All classic!! 😎

Old school groove. Love it.

How popular was this song overseas?
This song hit number 45 on the US Pop charts.
On the Billboard US R&B charts it was top ten smash!! Going to number

I suggest "You and I" by them
I bought this 45 record when this song came out in 1978. I still have it and still listen to it often. Great song choice to react to. I never hear it on the radio anymore. A forgotten classic.
The Contours - Do You Love Me (1962) - ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Everything about this song screams perfection on a level that current artist can only dream about creating. Lost art. Thank God for recordings.
When this came out you had to listen to music deliberately. Flip the album, and repeat.
Not if you were listening on 8 track...🙂
This is two stepping music.
i was 12 when this came out here in charlotte NC,,,,remember my mom and her friends listening to her stereo and getting drunk, listening to this and other stuff being played on wpeg
This is the song that I played for my wife on our wedding night ❤
They will never make music this beautiful again !

*wears her heart on her sleeve,

What's great about this song is that you don't want it to stop. We close our eyes, we listen to the voice, the instruments and we are so good...
Love this old tune! Thanks for the reaction! ✌💙✌
I haven't heard this song in forever. I still love it. Great song to step to. In Chicago, stepping is a style of dance, something like a slow jitterbug.

Alright my babies.... Long time listener first time hearing this song. It's really nice to hear a smooth groove ‼️🎼🎶🎤😊
70s, best music ever. if you don't feel this. you don't feel anything!
Absolute slow jam perfection
I heard this song when I was driving up from Pismo Beach had to put on replay. This is so damn good.
Another great-great 1.
This is my pick. woohoo
GAWD... I haven't heard this song in sooo long. R&B classic. Good slow dance song. 😉 (Back in the day, junior high or high school had dances, some of us guys would wait for slow songs, just so we could ask that one girl we always wanted to hold close)
Can we get at least ONE Toni Braxton or a second En Vouge (Free Your Mind)?
Hit #6 on the US R&B charts and that's pretty much the extent of their hits anywhere.
I am 58 years old and I still love that song and music by itself alone it's just great sounds.
❤❤❤One of my all time favorite songs❤❤❤
"hells yeah, Delicatessen!!" 🤭
Not Commodores, but Floaters....The 70's , when being in love was out of this world. When you have to talk to the girl directly, and ask her to be your girl, in person. Best believe you won't receive no dividends
I was 17 when listening to this, played it to death on 7" vinyl, now have it on my spotify playlist.
You two found a gem right there. A time of long cars and slow dancing at house parties.
I'm sure they do a song called "put a little love on me" which is worth a listen
Great slow love song THE MOMENTS ( LOOK AT ME ) Im in love
This is a great song that I had completely forgotten about. I was so young when I heard this and it just carried me along in that quintessential 70s long play groove.
An amazing song! One of my all time favorites.
TRY THE NEXT SONG YOU AND I
❤ I love that song! " You and I, stand with our heads held up high! Me and you, together whatever we do!
