As for my musical palate, the lead guitarist on this song is as good as they come. Overall, perhaps the LRB wasn't properly promoted otherwise they would have stayed at the top of the charts due to their amazing talents.

Chuck in NC, I certainly heard of much of this music and the harmonies of LRB bring such joy to my soul. But then, so does the music of Helen Reddy, ONJ, Midnight Oil, Air Supply and others that were part of the Aussie invasion in the 70s and early 80s. Lonesome Loser and Cool Change are 2 of my favorite LRB songs

As I was filling the car I noticed a banner flapping in the breeze on a paddock fence across the dusty road. It was announcing that the Little River Band will be playing there next week! I couldn't believe it, so I took a photo.
I always wondered what Glenn Shorrock, Graeme Goble, Beeb Birtles and co. would have thought of LRB's name being used like that.

One of those mind-blowing songs. I bought the album upon initial release, not knowing this amazing song was on it. As soon as I heard it, I left my room, telling my siblings about it. They didn't play it much on the radio, and when they did, it was an edited version, leaving out the long guitar solo. I felt like I came across a lost treasure when I first heard this. Like I ripped off the record label by paying only $6 for the album. It was worth much more than that to me. And listening to it on Bose headphones ... melody heaven, my brother. Little River Band has a treasure trove of good songs. Enjoying your channel. Keep up the good work.

I went to school with his wife in Central Missouri and the story is what Beeb and Donna's daughters describe as a rock and roll fairy tale. I would have to agree. I was listening to them long before the two of them met and the story of the beginning of their romance was told to me by Beeb at one of our high school class reunions in Jefferson City Missouri. Priceless. He is the genuine article! A kind warm and deliciously loving person who's still in love with music and his wife Donna! He gave some credit to the Jacksonville FL FM radio station for It's A Long Way There breaking through in the USA. A series of videos and they also went into how LRB founders lost the rights to the name Little River Band (READ THE CONTRACT PEOPLE😢). It's important to know and realise that there's not an original band member in the current band that tours USA. Whilst they (the current line-up performing legally of course) as the little river band are musicians in their own right, anyone in the USA going to see them won't be hearing the same harmonies, nor hear any of the other original band members that are in this video.

12 yrs old in 1975, my mum had a mate at work whos man emptied juke boxes and we got a free bag of 45,s , this was the first record I played and the world stopped spinning for a minute , it changed my life forever , I've been a lead guitar player for 40 odd years because of this stunning record !! Summer sunshine when we were free as the birds !

I agree with the majority here, this band is so underrated and mostly unknown and I have loved LRB since the late 70s, harmonies, vocals very good musicians, there were alot in he 70s ad 80s.

Wouldn't say they are mostly unknown but that they have low name recognition. Some folks would still hear a song like, say, Cool Change and go, "Oh yeah, I love that one!"

Back in 1973 I saw Mississippi, which was the precursor band of Little River Band, at a small gig, in Geelong, Australia, They were a great band, but we had no idea what they would evolve into. All these years later it is wonderful to know how much they are appreciated by fans across the world.
Harri, I just want to say what a joy it is to see your reactions to music that you love. I am 70 years old and I still have visceral reactions like you to music that moves me. i have seen very few people who react in the same way, so it is wonderful to see you experience music in the same wy - joyful, deep, and emotional. I've discovered you just today and I have spent the day on your channel loving every second. Thank you for the wonderful offerings.

People forget LRB were selling out stadiums in the US back at their peak. They were one of the biggest selling bands in the world in the late 70’s. I guess because they had more of a pop reputation they don’t get spoken about with the classic rock bands of the same era. But their music holds up beautifully to this day with any of them. Great Aussie band, and one of my favs back in my teenage years.

Glen Fry from the Eagles once said that the Little River Band were the best singing rock band. He actually sang with them at the world expo 1988 in Brisbane Australia. Have a listen to “Meanwhile” for a great up tempo number. You must be younger than you look if you have not heard of them. Cool Change and Reminiscing were world wide hits.

5/9/23 just watched your video on the little river band. I was born in 64. I’m from New Orleans Louisiana. I have loved them since I was a little girl in the 70s. I actually bought tickets for a concert July 8, 2023 on the coast of Mississippi, which is about an hour away from my house looking so forward to them, have been lucky enough to see them in the 70s and then once about 17 years ago pre-Hurricane Katrina. They have many many more great songs. My anniversary was May 7 and I actually posted on my Facebook their song and video happy anniversary to my husband. It’s one of our favorites. But my best friend in sixth grade, we used to sing, reminiscing till our voices were shot on the back of her mamas car at night when we would sneak out of the house.🤣♥️

THANK GOD! I've probably messaged or left comments to a dozen of my favorite "reactors" to listen to this song over the last 2 years, and FINALLY one of them has!
Harri, they were bigger than I think you may be thinking...never "huge" but they had a string of hits in the early 80's and were well known at that time here in the US (and I assume, the UK). This was the first song I ever heard by them - believe it was their first US release...or the first that got airplay, at least...in 1980, I believe. I've always really liked this song. Very under-rated guitar licks throughout the song, and great harmonies. So glad you finally listened to it. Another little pop tune they did that I like is "Man on Your Mind". Not as epic as this song, but a really nice, easy to sing along-with pop tuen.
Here's another nugget for you. Obviously, the Eagles have a large list of "A" hits to choose from, and I'm a big Eagles fan. IMO, one of their very under-rated songs (or over-looked, as you prefer) is "Victim of Love" off of the Hotel California album. Give it a spin, and you WON'T be sorry.
And then there's Madman across the Waters from Elton John. But - and this is odd - you DON'T want to react to the version from the album of the same name. I don't know that I've ever seen th is before (except for "greatest hits" albums), but Elton's earlier version of the song on the Tumbleweed Connection album is - IMO - clearly a superior version and a bit longer. That's the one to react to. I've never seen an artist use a song he included on a previous album as the title song of a later album, as Elton did. Until recently, I didn't know that was the case. But haven listed to both now, the Tumbleweed Connection version is the better one. Happy listening/reacting!

They began in the 70s. This song is from 1975 and many other hits from 75 too. They began when I was in high school. All members had been in previous groups in the 60s and early 70s so they were very experienced musicians. Cheers from Australia

Stumbled upon your channel and enjoyed your reaction to this great song. Regardless of our differences, what a beautiful world it would be when we can all agree, what great music is. August 25, 1981, Pablo Cruise opened for the Little River Band at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs, New York. My fiancée and I attended this concert and when LRB performed “It's A Long Way There” SPAC went crazy.
