17:15 this is a very good point. I think sometimes socialists ignore women's issues as if socialism would automagically bring about total equality in all respects, when feminism is actually necessary in its own right. Focusing only on economic issues isn't the best strategy for the left.
Female liberation is also a common sense improvement to any meritocratic/hierarchical social system, whether anybody agrees with socialism or not. Keeping women back and traumatizing us based on nothing but tradition and male entitlement makes the whole human race worse. Gender poisons everyone’s lives because it raises us with unhappy mothers and surrounds us with deeply unhappy people.
Now this is what I’m talking about!!!!!!! I’ll be 30 yrs old soon - grateful for this talk and these women!
I love the way people spoke back then, It's very clear and eloquent. Rarely do they interrupt themselves with "uh" or "like" that we hear with many Americans today. Just a detail I noticed.

20:15 we need feminism for men. It's a good point that men are held back emotionally, to their own detriment and the detriment of others. They've been denied emotionality.
Men have power. FEMinism is for women only. Men should make their own movement without women. Why do women need to do anything for them? Men as a sex class have always thwarted the female sex classe’s progress.
Men can do it if they want; women needed it and if men truly need it, then they’ll do it.

well on that particular matter, feminism would benefit them, if we were to abolish gender, it would be socially acceptable for men to express emotions that are deemed "feminine" right now. but they benefit from the patriarchy way more than they are disadvantaged by it. feminism is fighting for women's bodily autonomy, abolishment of the sex trade, r4pe culture, the nuclear family etc.
feminism is taking away men's right to exploit women, why would they want that?
