100% truth to everything slowing down. Feels almost like the matrix. Which is why it is very important to have as much training as you can get and be in best shape you can be. Because when that happens you’re not thinking you’re just doing. It’s amazing how your body and brain reacts.

I got to thinking in reference to chasing the crack head across the street and to not get hit by a car. I can definitely see one of us initiate a foot pursuit followed by the hit song “There goes my hero…” everything is slowed down and whammy you 10-50 a car!
how different things are across the us is something that's always been weird to me coming from the uk because we have standardised training across the country like I can go to the tip of scotland and they are useing same lingo, tactics, equipment, standards as they are down here in the south of england
Being on SWAT, I’m wondering why you backed out of the house/apartment after shooting the guy. We usually train to engage and advance on the threat. The best advice I ever got from an FTO was “treat everyone with respect, but have a plan to kill everyone.” Like you said, you NEVER know when that day will come. I had two partners murdered last year, one was working an OT shift.
I know this is an old video and you guys may not be able to answer this. But you guys are cops and I am not yet. Do you guys know what full time swat teams are in Illinois?
@@danielhawkins9717 I would say worry about getting into a large agency first then look to get at least 5 years of experience and then look for the full time teams! It will help you a lot

No, It depends on the department and the size of it. Generally large agencies have them. Good luck Daniel.
