Queer Nonfiction: my fav - In the Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado; short stories - It Came From the Closet by Joe Vallese; memoir - Horse Barbie by Genna Rocero.
Yay! The ghosties! Gideon the Ninth is a book I need to get to. I'm glad you will be continuing the series! I'm reading The Wager in June. I'm very excited about it. I vote for Rule of the Aurora King. It sounds fun! I've already read The Tainted Cup but I look forward to talking with everyone in the discord as you guys work through it! Happy Reading!
🍄 Eclectic mix, as ever! I can normally only finish two books in a month - so for June it’s Stars and Ravens (fantasy novel) and The English Languages (non-fiction)
Rule of the Aurora King is my vote. I love how Evocation has The Hanged One from Tarot on the cover. Adding more to my wishlist......so many books. Thank you for all your videos and getting me into my bookish Era. 🍄
I'm doing magical readathon and Breath of the Wildathon For June I'm reading crescent city 1, dead beautiful, weathering with you, song of six realms, and born of air Those are the planned readathon books at least :)
Happy reading month! I've read Strange the The Dreamer and currently reading The Last Tale of the Flower Bride. I also plan to read Muse of Nightmares, Daisy Haites, and The Bones Houses. :)
This is my first video from you! Sounds like great reads. I have just finished a book Just My Type which is a romance. I don’t have a set TBR so I’m just winging it. Some maybes are The Bandit Queens by Parini Shroff, the Hazelbourne Ladies Motorcycle and Flying Club by Helen Simonson, Yours from the Tower by Sally Nicholls, and Throne of the Fallen by Kerri Manscalco
What an exciting stack of books! I read Evocation and I loved it. I have been swamped late May, and haven't had much time for myself but I indulged myself with this read when it came in. 💜 As for history of pride, I have heard good things about Stonewall by Martin Duberman? It's an older book, but it looks quite promising as a primer on thr subject. 🍄
That outfit is so cute. I love it 😍 My vote goes to Finlay Donovan. I'm so excited for The Tainted Cup. It's really funny because before it got picked for the bookclub, i wasn't even planning to read it, but now i'm ridiculously excited for it 🍄
My vote is Finlay Donovan🔎 you’ve been reading a lot of fantasy so it might be good to switch it up. I’ll be trying to read the entire interdependency series by John scalzi which should be fun. The books aren’t too long and I want to try reading more series back to back. I’m also hopefully tackling words of radiance this month which is a big one. I’m also so excited for the tainted cup as our book club pick.
My vote is for Finley Donovan. I will be on a semi vacation in the beginning of June. My husband has to work so I get to tag along. The only hang up is what to pack to read! My focus is not to great when on vaca! 🍄
The Jane Austen letters book looks really intriguing, I didn't know it even existed, plus I love me an illustrated anything. I have a couple of trans/queer non-fiction to recommend for Pride month: - A Trans Man Walks Into a Gay Bar by Harry Nicholas - Female Husbands by Jen Manion - The Stonewall Reader (I haven't read yet but it's on my June tbr)
My vote is for Finley Donovan. The second one isn't as good as the rest of the series, but it is still fun. I picked up the fourth book recently, though I haven't had a chance to read it yet. I hope your reads go well. 🍄
I really want to read hera at some point love my Greek retellings 😊 I choose the Finley Donovan book. Need to try those books. I’m planning on reading some Jane Austen non fiction in July for Jane Austen July 🍄
I do love Jane Austen July, I haven't taken part the last 2 years, I've not been feeling classics... hopefully I get back into them, I have soooo many to read 😅
I vote for Rule of the Aurora King (pride month), then keep Jane Austen as your nonfiction. ❤📚❤️ Your excitement over Harrow the Ninth was everything. Lol.🍄
🍄 that is an interesting selection of books. I am interested in what you think of The Tainted Cup as I have been considering buying it but I want to see if you like it before I buy it. I don't do a TBR for the month but I am planning on continuing with The Atlas Six series next month once I have finished Caraval.
@@ReadingNymph It started slow, at one stage I didn't think I would finish it but then the story took off so I hope the second book is slightly more action-packed than the first one.
For Pride non-fiction, I highly recommend 'Outrageous!: The Story Of Section 28 And Britain’s Battle For LGBT Education' by Paul Baker. It's even more timely now with the uk government taking massive steps backwards in this regard.
@ReadingNymph I just really enjoy your videos, and your taste seems to really align with mine 🙂 Most other BookTubers I watch like Fantasy and Sci-fi whereas I'm not big on Sci-fi but love Fantasy, murder mystery and classics. That and I like your vibe!
🍄🍄🟫🍄Aurora King is my vote. Quite a varied June TBR! I will finish The Witcher series in June and most likely start the Liveship Traders series by Robin Hobb after that. Finished Death Comes to Marlow-I did guess the villain correctly in that one. Still enjoyed it though and will be picking up book 3 when it’s released. Your filming corner has so much space now!!! Looks great ❤
