My parents celebrated their 40th anniversary in a restaurant with an orchestra. My Father, who had a beautiful tenor voice, got up and sang this to my Mom, much to the delight of the entire restaurant.
My high school did this show for our competition season this year, and when you hear a song every day multiple times, it grows on you. I adore this because it sounds like one of my friends, and I couldn't be happier that this is the incredible version we're using
I was at a cafe situation at a conference and I asked that the piano player, recording artist Marty Goetz, play this in memory of my parents who left this earth in December of 2021 and March of this year. They were in their late eighties and mid-nineties, so it was their era. I sang along and it just seemed right. Thanks for recording this.
@@naomijoymusic That is awesome you know about Marty! Some of my friends know him. I kind of know him. BTW, I also have Pride of the Yankees in my DVD library. That's where I discovered it, too! Continue blessing others! ❤
My feed just sent me a tiktok clip that had 30m views. To call it utter garbage would be an understatement. Then I stumble upon this gem. Clear proof of the disconnect between quality and quantity. I've just sent it to my love across the seas in the hope that it reaches her.
Bravo! It took a 1945 David Lean film "Blithe Spirit" to discover your delightful, gentle rendition ("Always" was used during the seance scene). Now when I want to hear beauty, I come back to this beautiful performance. Many thanks!
I did it!! I did it almost two weeks ago. I'm a senior so it's my last year performance on the stage I have been performing on for 4 years!! I shed many tears but I had so much fun being part of an amazing cast :) Can't believe I'll be graduating soon, makes me so sad but so excited for the new character that lay ahead of me. Class 2023!!!
The first time I heard it was in the film, “The Pride of the Yankees,” 1942. With Gary Cooper and Teresa Wright. Later, I fell in Love with the Joni James Version. Thanks! Lovely Rendition.
Lyrics : Everything went wrong And the whole day long I'd feel so blue For the longest while I'd forget to smile Then I met you Now that my blue days have passed Now that I've found you at last I'll be loving you Always With a love that's true Always When the things you've planned Need a helping hand I will understand Always Always Days may not be fair Always That's when I'll be there Always Not for just an hour Not for just a day Not for just a year But Always Dreams will all come true Growing old with you And time will fly Carrying each day more Then the day before Til spring rolls by Then when the spring time has gone Then will my loving go on? I’ll be loving Always With a love that's true Always When the things you've planned Need a helping hand I will understand Always Always Days may not be fair Always That's when I'll be there Always Not for just an hour Not for just a day Not for just a year But Always

Timeless... The best version, among the many covers, was the one recorded by Sammy Turner, in a soul arrangement. His version charted, it was a wonderful rendition, but so different from this original version....
It's difficult to think of a more perfect song. This is the one we all wished we'd written.
This was my parents song. They skated around a rink the day they got married to this tune. Now they are resting in peace togather. Always. ❤

Heard this on "Archie Bunkers Place", with Steffie and Archie, they sang it together so beautifully....It made you want to cry. ❤

I used to play this for my memory residents in nursing home
My favorite song.imagine receiving this beautiful song on your wedding day written by your husband. Exactly what Erving did. 🌺
Came here after watching Days of Lives today, one of their best episodes ever with all the flashbacks including Tom, Alice, and Doug singing Always

What a blessing! I’m so happy to hear this.
That must have been a wonderful experience! Marty Goetz’s music is so encouraging.

No one will ever top you singing this song for me. Thank you it means so much.
Hauntingly beautiful. I miss you Marilynn😢
This is lovely! So simple and understated. Really hard to find a recorded version that isn't really over-done. Thank you for this!
Not for just an hour,
Not for just a day,
Not for just a year,
But always…

Encantadora pieza y voz, gracias y aplausos!
Really nice rendition of this song. And it's the only one I've heard that has all the lyrics (such as those at the beginning).
Thank you so much!
Beautiful.Pure and simple.
Betti Davis talks about this song in her book. It was considered sentimental which people loved many years ago. ❤
We are doing Blithe Spirit right now in stage. I have to sing part of this at the end and i am so glad I found this.
Omg same my drama director sent me here
I AM TOO!!!!

This is the best rendition on TH-cam. Thank you
Thank you for singing the verse in addition to the chorus!!! Beautiful performance!!!
Your voice is absolutely beautiful, just so perfect. The piano is amazing too. You did a fabulous performance on this lovely song.

I've watched the movie just for that scene on more than one occasion.
Loveliest rendition of my FAVORITE! Thank you.

Beautiful:)
Lyrics :
Everything went wrong
And the whole day long
I'd feel so blue
For the longest while
I'd forget to smile
Then I met you
Now that my blue days have passed
Now that I've found you at last
I'll be loving you Always
With a love that's true Always
When the things you've planned
Need a helping hand
I will understand Always
Always
Days may not be fair Always
That's when I'll be there Always
Not for just an hour
Not for just a day
Not for just a year
But Always
Dreams will all come true
Growing old with you
And time will fly
Carrying each day more
Then the day before
Til spring rolls by
Then when the spring time has gone
Then will my loving go on?
I’ll be loving Always
With a love that's true Always
When the things you've planned
Need a helping hand
I will understand Always
Always
Days may not be fair Always
That's when I'll be there Always
Not for just an hour
Not for just a day
Not for just a year
But Always
