    Thanks for covering this, Amy. I keep seeing these trends that younger wives and mothers are flocking to in pursuit of becoming more godly but it seems like a fleshly diversion to me. I don't see anything wrong with being lovely, creating aesthetically pleasing things, or even appreciating qualities of a bygone era. However, when we create our identity around those things it becomes idolatry, which is evidenced by the following identity crisis. Love that you brought up that we are battle buddies with our husbands. Each marriage and home will be different according to the unique circumstances, battles, and good works that the Lord prepared us for. Really appreciate your excellent insights. May God give you and your mom a sweet transition into your home and bless you as you minister to your family. ❤

      Right - nothing inherently wrong about all these things, but don't let them become an idol or your entire identity. Thank you for your thoughts!

    Thanks for the sound encouragement. Reading Proverbs 31 sure gives the idea of a woman who is very active and smart and practical, right in line with your comment to jump on board your husband's mission.

    I think its a tend, most families can afford for wifes to stay home, so most women work out side the home, and there nothing wrong either way. You do what best for your family.

    Funny thought that always comes to me when I come across the trad wife videos and blogs (besides the general lack of children). Their "traditional" ideal is around the mid 1900s. If you actually think about wives from even 100 years prior to that (Ma Ingalls, Marmee from Little women, etc.) They really embodied a more biblical and truly traditional way of life. They kept the house, cooked and did laundry, raised the children, yes, but they also did the farm chores, protected the family, made financial decisions, alongside and sometimes in the absence of their husbands. They very naturally understood that they worked as a team with their husbands, and their actual tasks altered accordingly.

    That’s so interesting! I had never heard of it. Thank you for being honest and real and brave enough to speak the truth. That’s badly needed these days. I can definitely relate to not loving to cook; I am the same. I think if I had more time I would enjoy it more😂 we have 8 children and homeschool.

      Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't love to cook! It's just not my passion.

    You are so inspirational to me! In a prior video or blog post of yours, I remember you talking in depth about similar things: being a helper to your husband, what your role is as wife and mother and homemaker will not look like someone else's, etc. It was SO helpful and so freeing for me. I still fall into the comparison trap and the trying to do this mission over here when I need to be doing that mission over there with my husband, however, it is more easy to recognize now and change direction.
    I think the trad wife trend may be geared toward younger ladies 20s through early 30s. I am 38 and don't feel like I have seen much trad wife content outside of several shorts poking fun at the trend that pop up from time to time.
    I think we all find pretty, shiny things to be alluring. Perfection is alluring. That beautiful kitchen and the to do list being written down and then checked off in order by the end of the day is alluring. All of these things can be such distractions from what is really important.

      Thank you for the kind words! I think the TradWife trend definitely appeals to a younger generation looking for purpose and meaning. I was very.much like that. I just hope we "older" ladies can be a Titus 2 voice of Truth!

      @AmyRaisingArrows Yes! We "older" ladies made me laugh a little! But, you are right. My church has a moms group that is really coming into being a Titus 2 group. For a shirt time, it was mostly 20's- 30's now more 40+ women are attending and pouring into the younger women. It is so encouraging!

      Yeah, I definitely don't feel like an "older woman," but I think anyone who is a little further down the road qualifies, and that I am!

    Yes yes yes!!! We have 9 kids with one daughter married and I just got through encouraging her in this same way! Comparing yourself is so damaging, and especially to someone on the internet that is only showing the highlights of who they are. *soapbox* haha. Thank you for covering this! 😊

    I've never heard of the Tradwife terminology but I can see where that "label" is being pushed towards the younger generations I guess I'm just busy living my everyday, ordinary, homesteading life, that it doesn't seem to affect me. I'm glad you're there to encourage us to be who God created us to be for our husbands.

    Thanks for this video. Gave me some things to think about. Do you talk about marriage in any other videos?

    • @AmyRaisingArrows
      @AmyRaisingArrows  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I haven't talked a lot about it, but people have been asking. I have a podcast out that will be on here soon that is also about marriage.

  • @Erin78G

    So are there trad wife channels by that name or are we talking about all the You Tube Channels that are about cleaning or home stuff?

    • @AmyRaisingArrows
      @AmyRaisingArrows  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They aren't necessarily by that name. But, they do talk about that term. I have nothing against cleaning and homemaking videos as long as you are watching eyes wide open to the fact that what you see is only about 1% of the real picture. 😉
