Hula hoops was a genius idea from Lynda. Worked out really well for your corn. Hope those magpies leave your corn alone this year. Your allotment is definitely coming along lovely. Let me know if you and Mick tried that Grilled Cheese burger I showed ya. I wanna know what ya think. Have a great week.
The rhubarb harvest was amazing - go you! The sweetcorn protection is excellent - looks just fine to me - Lynda's channel is also really good - she is a hoot as well.
This garden has been just giving! Rhubarb harvest is amazing and to be able to share it with others is very kind. You amaze me every time I see your allotment. This is definitely something to talk about for years to come. I have told so many people about your allotment, they are starting to think I am going to your house at least once a month 😂😂😂😂 I guess I talk a lot about you! Have a beautiful week Sarah ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
Hello Sarah Your allotment is flourishing. I think that you are now beyond a novice👏👏 Don't underestimate the importance of rhubarb. It is now quite an expensive item. Enjoying the journey with you. Keep well🌟💞
Consider picking rhubarb by gently pulling the stalks out. It’s very easy to do and the bonus is that plant will continue to produce more stalks for you. Rhubarb sells for a dollar a stalk where I live, so we treasure more produce. You might have fun dying some concrete mix light green and making stepping stones for the garden with the leaves. Lots of videos out there for how-to’s. Fun, quick and inexpensive garden craft.

You can also use the plastic water pipe to make arches over your crops. I used to lay the rhubarb leaves on the soil and thye act as a weed deterrant but don't lay them on stems of you veg. I hope the cage over the sweetcorn works and you get a good crop this year. Its all looking good Sarah.
Sarah, its so hard to get into the joys of Fall with our temps here in Oklahoma are around 80 F / 26 C your garden looks so peaceful and kind to the soul.
Hula hoops are a great idea, well done to Linda too. I got those scissors after you recommended them and they have been first rate, each time i use them i thank you lol.
It's the toward the end of October here in the USA and I'll be planting my hard neck white german garlic in the next day or two so it can winter over & have a lovely harvest next july or August ( once the bottom 3rd of the stalk starts to die is when you dig them up & hang to dry for a few weeks ) ! Hard neck garlic grow what are called scapes. That I cut off once each one sort of starts to curl & I dehydrate them & grind them up for cooking with !
Hi Sarah. What's a great idea bout the hula hoops. I subbd to Lynda when you mentioned her a few weeks ago. Well done on the rhubarb harvest. Everything is looking good, your abundance of your planting and harvesting has paid off. Thanks for sharing xxx
If you put your strawberry plants into rows, you can use an insecticide powder or gel (not sure what is legal in England) to stop whatever is eating the berries. If your climate is mild, you could do it now.
What I would give to have some fresh rhubarb right now. Love to eat as is sprinkled with a little salt. Your garden looks great for the beginning of August. Looking forward to seeing all that you harvest.
Great idea ,thanks for passing that one on about the hoops ,,don't mind if I use that next year ,,love watching you Sarah ,,you make it look easy ..hugs and love from the Canadian prairies..❤
