I have a soon to be 11 yrs old daughter who has Tourette. some time she talks about it with me . she hates that kids and adult make fun of her , she also said it hurts her , she doesn't know she is doing and sometime she cries about it. her's is eye blinking, head movement, and like she is looking up n the sky . I have done research on Tourette but it still hurts me to see her going through this and there is not anything I can do to help her.
I have ADHD and although I am taking my medication for it, I accepted myself for who I really am. You guys are not alone. I am fully supporting you guys.
People with Tourettes Syndrome can sometimes suppress the urge to tick when they’re very focused on a particular task. In this case. She is focusing on making this video and all her thoughts and actions are on one goal. For people with much more severe cases of syndrome will often not be able to suppress it as much even when focused on a task.
I guess that's something that a lot of people don't understand. First of all, that most people with tourettes will propably only blink a bit more often, or cramp their hands at times without people realizing at all mostly. The cases in which you have bigger tics are way less. I hope we'll be able to somehow find a way to treat it, other than for example marihuana or so (which doesn't help everyone with tourettes either)
Very true, though its not suppression that we do when we're focused, our tics are just generally more calm! :) suppressing at all is actually very dangerous!

Ya I have Tourette’s and for the first few seconds I thought he had it. But ya she didn’t tic in this video but honestly it could’ve just been the situation. Like I know I’m like that, mine are usually pretty bad but when I’m in situations where all attention is on me like recording a video for school or doing an interview or whatever, I don’t tic cause my brain is completely focused on something. So I’m guessing that that’s what happened here with her

As a 14 yr old and having Tourette’s i am starting to date and this helps a lot my tics are very bad right now motor and vocal. My medicine is very awful it makes me tired and anxious. On top of that the tics make me tired. I was diagnosed when i was in 4th grade i am now a freshman. My friends are very kind and very helpful to me. Hopefully you guys can. Understand that i am struggling right now so please just keep me in mind i got this.

You guys are fantastic. My husband has Tourettes. I met him when we were both 22, hottest guy I'd ever met. It never bothered me, though sometimes I get startled haha. We've been together 12 years, have two beautiful boys, own a business and I rarely even think about it now. Once, when I was hospitalized during my pregnancy, the lady in the room next door told the nurses she was worried because she kept hearing my husband scream profanity at me. One of his tics is saying FUCK really loud. They sent a social worker to talk to me privately thinking I was being abused 😂😂😂😂. I wish you guys the very best.
The greatest couple ever so supportive of each other. Love it they are so cute I wish I had that. Both sound so smart and grounded. They have problems but in so many ways they are perfection. Today is March 10th, 2022 and just watched this video for about the 15th time. I guess it was about 2 or 3 years ago when it was the first time I viewed it and decided to subscribe to you guys channel for 2 reasons, the first being to just see how it might be to be with someone with Tourettes and the second reason, probably the most important one, being that I am a grandfather to two Special Needs grandchildren, their ages now are 21 and 18. My grandchildren are learning disabled, hearing impaired and both have been diagnosed with different levels of Tourettes, neither being to the extreme level but still having their own level of tics that does increase when they are stressed or out in a social setting that makes them uncomfortable. I would like to point out that I will be 69 next month and was a single parent to my daughter starting back when she was 4 yrs. old. Once my daughter started school, she too was tested and labeled as Learning Disabled with no other underlying problems. At that time, my generation knew nothing about Special Needs, learning Disabilities, etc. It just wasn't there and not acknowledged so this was all completely new to me but I was determined to make sure my daughter received what ever education she needed to succeed. My first step was to enter college and receive my BS degree in Special Education, not to teach but to do whatever needed to assist my daughter in receiving the best education program for her Special needs. It was an uphill battle but my daughter did graduate with honors. I continue to do the same today for my very, very special grandkids and at the same time, they teach me something new every day I'm with them. My grandson, 21 yrs. old, finished high school and currently resides in a group home and doing quite well. My 18 yr. old granddaughter will graduate high school in May, 2022 and we are currently working on a program for her to carry over into adult life that will hopefully result in her becoming independent as she moves on. No matter what, their Poppy(me) will always be right there for both of them to help them succeed in whatever they decide. I didn't mean to rattle on this way but your video has given my grandchildren hope. I don't know if I have missed anything but this is the only video of yours that I have been able to locate and I was wondering if you no longer do any posting of videos of your life with Tourettes and what you are up to these days. And I have to ask, for my grandson(lol), if you and Aaron are still an item or have you two went off in your directions of life? One last thing I have to tell you about what I have learned about Tourettes over time. We all know that it can effect anyone in any form, including myself. I was informed that I too have a form of Tourettes and my little tic is the simple act of ''humming'', yes, humming(as I'm doing at this very moment) and not even being aware that I'm doing so unless someone brings it to my attention which happens quite often. The doctor assured me that its not just a habit, but an actual tic and it falls within the spectrum of Tourettes. I do work hard to make myself aware that I'm doing it but there are times when I haven't a clue until someone tells me that I'm humming ''again''. I too am legally deaf due to what is called Menierre's Disease that is a progressive loss of hearing that will one day result in total deafness and there is no cure and hearing aides would be a waste of money and the worst of it all is I'm very tone deaf and can't carry a tune to safe my life so my humming is so bad it makes others around me wishing they was the deaf ones. I have learned to accept my non-existent talent and just keep on humming!!! lol If you do happen to see this, I hope all is going well with you and yours and your conquering the world!!! If you watch my first video I explain how my tics used to be much worse (I was diagnosed when I was 4) but over the years I've gotten good at suppressing them and when I'm making a video, or playing sports, or doing something that distracts my mind they barely bother me and it's great! I am a 15 year old girl with tourettes. A lot of you guys don't see her doing tics, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have it. If you meet me today you might not notice that I have it at all, or it will take some time before you notice something. But had you seen me 3 years ago you could not miss it. I did things and made sounds all the time. My neck and head hurt all the time and I was so tired and sad. The longer I tried to not do tics the harder it became. I used to turn my head back and hit the end of my neck. I could do it 5 times a secound, all day every day, with just small brakes. I can't describe to you how it felt. It is like fighting with your own body and brain. You just can't stop it. And on top of that people look at you as a really weird person. It made me feel uncomfortable around others. Lucky for me, today I'm almost just like a regular person. But the feeling of "pressure" is still in my body. It just doesn't do anything visual. Maybe you think "oh but now she doesn't have it anymore". But I promise you. Even if it's not there just now, a person with Tourettes can still feel it hiding inside them.

A child may be diagnosed with PANDAS when: Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and/or tic disorders suddenly appear following a strep infection (such as strep throat or scarlet fever); Your tourettes may just be an auto immune reaction to a strep infection.

I am a 15 year old girl with tourettes. A lot of you guys don't see her doing tics, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have it. If you meet me today you might not notice that I have it at all, or it will take some time before you notice something. But had you seen me 3 years ago you could not miss it. I did things and made sounds all the time. My neck and head hurt all the time and I was so tired and sad. The longer I tried to not do tics the harder it became. I used to turn my head back and hit the end of my neck. I could do it 5 times a secound, all day every day, with just small brakes. I can't describe to you how it felt. It is like fighting with your own body and brain. You just can't stop it. And on top of that people look at you as a really weird person. It made me feel uncomfortable around others. Lucky for me, today I'm almost just like a regular person. But the feeling of "pressure" is still in my body. It just doesn't do anything visual. Maybe you think "oh but now she doesn't have it anymore". But I promise you. Even if it's not there just now, a person with Tourettes can still feel it hiding inside them.
