Thanks a million dear Christina thanks for your generous teaching especially at this difficult times when most in the this field are jobless and struggling to meet ends, your teaching is much appreciated and I share your videos wit all those with the same interest , God bless you and may all your wonderful wishes be fulfilled
This has to be one of the best videos I have ever watched. I use gumpaste but I will definitely have a go with cold porcelain. Thank you. Rose, from Australia....🦋🦋
I wish I saw this video earlier. But as the saying goes, it's never too late to learn. You are a superb Teacher! I'm amazed at your talents and enriched with learning new ways of making realistic flowers! Thank you so very much!!
thank you so much! No it's never too late to learn, you're right. I'm still learning , when I no no longer do I'll take up something else, though hopefully it won't happen!
All your videos are beneficial. I love that fact that you give us the way to do things but then you always say ....make it your own. What ever looks beautiful. Thank you.
I have watched this video a few times and always enjoy it. Your roses look so realistic in cold porcelain and I must give it a go somethime. Thank you for sharing your art with us!
I have had a hard time finding a petal mold like yours. It absolutely did help with gum paste floral work! I'd love to see more! You do a phenomenal job!
You really make the rose petals look so realistic it's really beautiful. I only work with fondant and now I will give your method a try, and maybe just maybe I will give cold porcelain a go. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge with us!
I enjoy working with both mediums and I agree with all your comparisons. There is so much more flexibility with CP and it gives a more definitive and realistic look, that being said , sugar flowers have their own uniqueness in that it dries relatively quicker depending the size of the flower. Some say they prefer sugar flowers on a cake over CP but the reality is , both have wires in them. The CP arrangements last forever. Your input on both is fantastic. Love your technique, spot on ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I look forward to more of your work.
I think you do phenomenal work! I'm hoping to be able do this in gum paste/pastiage once I get my carpal tunnel surgery done and I've healed! I'd love to see more!
They are beautiful and that was the reason I subscribed to your channel my first glance and I was well impressed , I personally have never used this but I am definitely going to have a go, I just loved the look so realistic xx
I believe that you were trying to teach us how to make a rosebud. You did, in a roundabout way do that. I work with gumpaste. However, I found your video very useful. I would like to see how you do your little trick of holding the ball of porcelain in the beginning. I also liked how you cut your calyx and veined each petal of the calyx. It made it look more realistic.
Hi Christina, I'm a big fan of yours, I learn so much from all your videos. I'm so glad you are going into cold porcelain a bit. I started out with gumpaste to make flowers but having them break and become too brittle is a bummer. I once made a CP but I was undecided about it I was still to used to the gumpaste. Presently I make my flowers from air dry clay. I think it's very comparable to Deco air dry clay. I'm going to try your recipe for CP. I have been noticing lately that bean paste is the new big thing. There is a clay version and a buttercream piping version of bean paste. I think the bean paste clay dries somewhat flexible to the flowers are not that sensitive to breakages. This is why I love the air dry clay because it's very durable and light, it dries almost like paper, it can be dusted, painted or sprayed. I'm finding that most cake designers still want to put sugar flowers on their cakes, I guess it's hard to change after all these years. I think the more durable versions of clay is wonderful because they can keep the flowers after their event is over, also they stand up to the condensation from refrigeration. Keep those videos coming thank you so much for making them, I'm learning so much from you. Christina D.
Fabulous video!! So many people use cold porcelain now as it is easily accessible! Look forward to more! Also the three color tones you used for the leaves was perfect and more realistic! Well done!
Awesome video beautiful fine the video very helpful! Yes I have use cold porcelain to make flowers and bows also Christmas decorations!!! Thank you for Sharing!!! Hugs Liz...
I am glad you worked with cold porcelain because I love working with it. I like your technique too. But I do prefer real time videos because speed does not help following what you do. It is about learning the skill isn't it. Thank you for sharing your skills.
I'm definitely changing to cold porcelain ... Well have it as an option at least. With all that hard work going into decorations for a special occasion I'm sure the client would like a keepsake
Hi Christina I love this video , thank you very much love the cold porcelain compared to the gum paste flowers. Your work is my style forming petals almost natural , I detest cutter formation petals . I will definitely try this . Could the flowers be sprayed with a clear varnish? Looking forward to continue watching more videos. 👌
hiya , thank you, I use mr clear spray , it's a sort of fixative spray used for dolls , mostly, it comes in matt and gloss and in-between and is brilliant in all sorts of ways, for example it fast dries oil if applied in thin layers
Hello I love you tutorials. I'm starting to work with home made cold porcelain. And I find that my pedals shrink. How do you deal with this and how do you get them to keep the form you want them to be. Thank you
@@Christina_Wallis The cost of the veiners is ridiculous while the quality is so poor. I'm in process of trying to make some for myself, but I know I will still have to purchase. Do you have a preference of companies for buying them? Roses are something I make a lot of ( cold porcelain and they are usually gifts, not sales) so wanting a good one for larger petals (life-sized long stemmed) as inexpensive as possible...ARGGG. Now to get a good rose with good veins to use as a model.
I love your vidoes. Please I have noticed. Your petals are soft after drying in few videos. Do u use your own clay or bought from outside. What makes it so soft and flexible. Do tell me. Thanks
Thank you soooo much for the tutorial ❤️❤️ can i ask something, how long we can keep the cake structure(dummy) outside (function hall) with flowers (cold porcelain) ? how long able to keep flowers outside?
It was really useful, at last i found at what stage to cover the flowers with pastel chalks... Before i tried after i made the whole flower and unfortunately there were glue traces seen((
Hi Christina, I am just learning how to make gumpaste flowers and have invested quite a bit already in the petal dusts, wires, cutters, etc..I was a porcelain doll maker yrs ago, then went into card making for 20 yrs and now starting this. Can you please tell me what the difference is between COLD PORCELAIN and Gumpaste is? I thought they were both the same, but obviously not. I love your video's though you talk a little fast for me, I think that is because I am just learning, but I really would like to know the difference before I go any further. Thank you so much. I have subscribed. Again Thank you!
cold porcelain tends to be brittle at the edge of the flower. once it drop it will break at the edge. any way or any recepi of cold porcelain that will make not brittle?
I found that using Alleen's Tacky Glue ( www.amazon.com/Aleenes-oz-Original-Tacky-Glue/dp/B00178KLEY ) helps it to be less brittle than using other brands like Elmer's glue-all. Also, cold dry are makes them more brittle as well, so warmer moister air is better for the flowers (and us too! :) Blessings!
Hi there, i've always been a huge fan of yours, and always learning from your videos, but you know busy life sometimes takes offline and now as i was watching your video as always i learned a lot, gumpaste or cold porcelaine it doesn't matter to me i'm quite good with handling gumpaste as C.P. even though it's very hard to get all cutters and veiners needed i'm like you always improvising. i'm a cake decorator from Lebanon, and i make gumpaste flowers and i like to do them as realistic as i can , and i would love to have your professional opinion about my work please, here's my facebook page: Pure Honey - Cakes & Sugar Flowers Art Studio. I wish her tutorials were detailed. Too fast and does not give details in color, supplies. Like her, but teaching how to make this rose is just not detailed, therefore a person would be set up for failure
Brenda Sturgeon I highly disagree. This is not a beginner's tutorial. You should already have the basic skills in flower making. She lists all the tools needed in the description and gives the details where needed.
Her unassuming, unrehearsed comments are priceless! What a charming woman, and so talented!
