Some brilliant tips for newbies there ! We have Tefal Ingenio pans they are amazing, removable handles, they all stack inside each other and they double up as oven pans. They wash so easily and the non stick is the best quality, similar to your ‘ never stick ‘. ( You also get seals for the pans so can be used in fridge and freezer) Re plates, after 35 years in a caravan we still like either Correlle or melamine plates, also plastic glasses but agree they scratch but have proper mugs we keep in a muggi. Agree about using kitchen roll to clean pans first thats a great tip. Re the knife block we have never bothered with one as too bulky but that one is fab and so slim i will be looking for one of those .
Agree with the wine glasses but also have a g& t plastic large balloon " glass". We bought a fab set of plastic plates etc from Costco - look just like earthenware. We have exceptionally small load weight.
Hi , we found your channel today 👋… unfortunately we already brought all the wrong stuff needed or so they said lol. We are parked on a 12 month pitch so moving and weight aren’t so much of a problem, but after watching this I’m going to raid my kitchen until my Amazon order arrives. I use the three layer steamer at home all the time 🤗, so why I brought separate pans specifically for the caravan I have no idea and after only 2 weeks yes my plates and cups are stained. Can’t wait to binge watch more many thanks from Karen and Lisa . Take care both xx
Don't worry, we did exactly the same. Splashed out on all caravan stuff and now we have binned just about all of it. That's the joy of listening to caravan sales staff.
Totally agree, I’ve been caravanning for 30 years now and always taken crockery kettles saucepans etc from the house not all the caravan things that you see in the caravan shops.
Informative and yes couldn't agree more. Why spend ££££ when the daily utensil work. Like you guys, We're a couple and yes I get a family might need extra caution with children running about (especially if the galleys near the loo) but as a general usage yes.. we even have toaster just in case £10 from the usual hypermarkets lol but nothing outlandishly expensive from the "caravan supplier" the only thing they'll lighten is your wallet !
Great video. We’ve never had anything but proper plates, pots, mugs and glasses in our caravans. It feels more like a home. I’ll definitely be picking some silicone egg rings up!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts re kitchen appliances - we’re getting our first caravan in April and we nearly bought some melamine pots at the NEC this week but they were so extortionately priced we left them there and we’re so glad we did - will use normal pots now after watching your vlog. Thank you - we always enjoy watching your broadcasts, stay safe, cheers, John & Debs 😊😊
Hi John and Debs. Glad it has helped. We really thought it worth sharing how we spent and binned so called quality outdoor equipment. Normal things are fine. We've never had a problem with household kit.👍
@@Coffeevaners it’s so reassuring to know as costs soon mount up when you start out. Very much appreciated that you’ve taken the time to do this for everyone 😊😊
Yes we fell into the lightweight melamine & plastic glasses - What a waste of money, we now use ceramic & glasses, same as you we buy basic & cheap stuff for caravan 👍
Hi Both, we love watching you and have just taken delivery of our new 454 Sherwood from Robinsons of Worksop. Q. How many steel shelves did your Dometic series 10 fridge come with? Many thanks in advance and keep up the vlogs, mat&val
Hi. You know I had to go and have a look. We have 2 metal rack shelves. 1 right above the salad tray which has 2 plastic dividers and 1 other metal shelf. 👍
@@Coffeevaners thanks for your prompt reply. Am I correct in thinking you purchased your van from Robinsons also? We have only the lower metal shelf. And one shelf on the door itself, how many did you have on the door? We love our van. Thanks again
@@mathewjones7344 There's a lower bottle holder on the door with like the rubber top to stop things moving and the top lidded door shelf . Yes our is a sherwood from robinsons. If you'd like photos then just drop us an email which is in the channel about and I'll get some over but won't be till tomorrow now.
