Here's how I made Riptide, the expandable sword from Percy Jackson. Three different version were made here, the first being a CO2 powered telescoping rod, however this didn't resemble a sword all that much. The 2nd version used a magic expandable staff inside a 3d printed pen shell to produce a sword when twisted. The 3rd sword used a full metal expandable sword, that was modified to fit inside a pen case. This version was more robust and could cut things. Enjoy

Ryan Pelopero not necessarily. Demi-gods can still be affected by the mist. For example in the beginning of book two, Percy didn’t notice that Tyson was a cyclops because of the mist. There is still hope for you buddy.
on second thought, i’ve always had this dream of making a dream sword when i read rick riordan (ahh good old days). a sword made of two different metals, kinda like backbiter, but could fold on a hinge to become a bow, separate into two distinct swords, and mount together to form the rails of a railgun. (back in the day i used to dream so much of this)

I'm not sure if you own a pointer before. A pointer is a type of tool where it is able to expand by pulling it upwards. It has a size of a pen. Additionally, you can try to study how a pen works (like when you click onto the top cap, the pen tip is exposed and stay there and retracted when you click again) and how umbrella opens (last time umbrella used to have this button where upon pressing it, the umbrella unfolds and if you press it again, the open umbrella loosens so that you are able to pull back and return to its original)

@@TheDaltonius haven't you read books 2 3 or 4? Tyson gave him a shield at the end of the Sea of Monsters out got damaged early in the Titains Curse and was repaired by Tyson just before Percy returns to camp in the Battles of the Labyrinth and was later thrown at a powerful monster to save Tyson.

You should make a full metal pool que the end where you hit the ball is rubber and it has a button at the bottom so when pressed extends and when pressed again with retract and all it takes is a double a or whatever small batteries you want (i already did this tho but good idea abd works the buttons a bit hard to make but other than that works well for pool i dont play pool tho so i just have it for the fun)

OMG !!!! I’ve grow up with Rick Riordans Percy Jackson & his other Demigod series!!!! I’m an adult & still love listening to the books and look forward to his upcoming books and working with Disney to make more movies/TV series from his books!

Riptide is one of my favorite weapons so to see something like that in real life is super cool. If only I could actually have something like that and if I lose it boom right there in my pocket it returns lol

You know, the first model version of the sword reminded me of Hiccup’s Flaming Sword from “How to Train your Dragon 2”. If you could work with that first thing and make it able to Flame On, I think that would actually be a pretty cool video.
