Ott, I fish a little almost completely dead lake and sometimes I make it to the river. I don't have any drive to want to go waist my time with my line in the water. But here recently I've be going more and more and for the reason that I've been watching your videos getting the little jolt of get your ass up motivation I need. I don't know what it is but I feel like no matter what happen it what I caught yesterday tomorrow is always different and you really don't never know what you can get.

You guys are great and very entertaining. Been begging to go fishin for a while now but we don't have a boat and nobody ever wants to take me even though we're in the best fishin state of Tennessee. Never been fishing on a boat before but I'm trying. But since this is the closest thing I can get I'd love for you guys to keep getting these videos out so I can get a little bit of the experience. Thanks for getting out there
Nice video, but for occasional fishing couldn't you set her up with a Zebco closed face, one of the nice ones? Any backlashes & about any reel with fluorocarbon line can suck the fun out of fishing for someone rusty, young or even just new to the sport. Later they can practice a bunch or get a Shimano DC. Hey, if she's coming out of retirement to compete it may take her awhile to get back to being comfortable with a casting reel. When i was a kid I was started on a fixed spool spinning reel and took to it quickly with soft mono line, never really enjoyed a closed face spincaster once I tried it, didn't like the weight above the rod.
It may be a mistake but I never had them push buttons to use. All my kids started with spinning reels. My thought is I want them to work on the skills they will use the rest of their lives with good equipment. And when they get a fish on they have a much better chance to land it instead of on a push button. I wouldn’t land many on those.
My son has a tournament there this weekend and they’re putting in at the damn. Would you say make that long run up to the rivers or try to find something closer?
