Guangzhou (and indeed many other Chinese state capitals like Beijing and Shanghai) are basically adding 50km of track on average every year, the goal is to have every resident within the metropolitan area being able to access a metro line within walking distance and remove the need for cars altogether. This is very impressive

The planning dates back at least a decade before the opening date of the line. Some maybe 2-3 decades in the planning and construction. That being said, there are a few major flaws in the planning, the most notable one being Line 3 with it's short & narrow train. The branch line design also proved to be problematic. Hence Line 10 will take over the Line 3 branch.

Hi I love your videos I was wondering if you could do evolution of doha metro (in english) to around 2030 as that is when the system will be large. Thanks
Central government started to strictly restrict the construction of metro recent years since the increasing debt. Many extension plans and new metro line plans in Chinese cities were cut, so the local governments have to replan or terminate the construction in some cases.
I've heard that in the future, line 10 will interchange with line 3 extra line, so those extra stations in line 3 now will be stations of line 10 in the future
The Guangzhou metro and Foshan metro have been connected. Guangzhou, Foshan, Dongguan and Shenzhen will be connected. A huge metro network of four city. Expecting!!!!
@@andro7862 Depends on your definition of "integration". My home district is Shatin(HK) but I have an appartment in Futian(SZ). Before the checkpoint locked up, I took MTR east line to my SZ appartment with only 35 minutes. The two system are kind of connected at Lo_Wu Station and Lok_Mak_Jou/Futain Station - although you need to walk ~10 min to cross the border among stations.
It turns out that southern portion line 22 and line 7 west portion are gonna open in 2022. For 2023 there will be line 3, line 5, line 7 east extensions and line 11 only. Other lines would be 2024+ to complete
Do you really think it’s possible to open 116 stations in a single day? Think about it. 2007/12/29 Shanghai opened 68 stations on the same day, and it remains undefeated to this day.
Guangzhou's metro system is ABYSSMALLY underbuilt compared to its 65 million population. All the lines in the center should have been A8 capacity, if not even more. If Makkah's metro was built mostly by the Chinese government and uses A12 capacity trains, then why can't guangzhou? Or at least A10 if they're worried about station flow. Guangzhou is literally a failure at building a metro system that can outdo Japan's Tokyo sets of railway networks that carry 45 million passenger trips a day.Their trains are closest to B10 capacity which is a little less than A8 capacity but their population is smaller at 39 million so it's understandable. (A meaning A-size metro trains, number being number of train cars per set)
Perhaps this stems from the contempt of Guangzhou and even the central government for the development of Guangzhou, but when Line 6 was planned, Line 2 and Line 3 were still in the stage of transporting stools. However, I hope that the current planning and construction can keep up with the development of this international metropolis, and that Guangzhou will become better and better.
Do you not remember how much flak they got from building massive capacity lines for the earlier lines and having very underwhelming ridership? Ridership projections couldn't have predicted the massive changes in society in Guangzhou in such a short time.

There is Guangzhou Metro No. 28 from Foshan to Dongguan Songshan Lake.
To be honest, the naming systems are kind of weird. Like you haven't built these lines yet and you skip straight to 21. My home is in Beijing, there they do it in increments but they also did similar things in the past. However, the naming system in Shanghai is more practical.
That's because they plan all the lines before and then they decide which to build first. All the lines up to number 30 are planned but some are going to be built after 15 years
Line 18 will open on September 28. After the opening of such line with a speed of 176km/h, we can quickly go to Nansha from Tianhe Financial District of Guangzhou in half an hour. In the future, there will be metro lines from west to east, connecting Foshan, Guangzhou and Dongguan, merging the metro of the three cities into one system. In addition, line 18 will drive through Zhongshan to Zhuhai in the future. As a people from Guangzhou, i like your video very much. Thank you very much for this. It's very wonderful!

Such a pleasant video to watch! Much better than tolerating the extremely slow public transit development in NY.
should you need the add the km length?
today's length,589ķm
I would like to know where you got the data for the metro lines and stations for this video?
If you have these data, could you share a vector data, please.
Hey! Amazing videos! Can you please do Istanbul, Seoul or Singapore?
Finally someone makes it happen!
AMAZING! Shenzhen next, pls.

Hi I love your videos I was wondering if you could do evolution of doha metro (in english) to around 2030 as that is when the system will be large. Thanks
Nice video. I am from Guangzhou.
what district?
Central government started to strictly restrict the construction of metro recent years since the increasing debt. Many extension plans and new metro line plans in Chinese cities were cut, so the local governments have to replan or terminate the construction in some cases.
For 6:36, the following station (Towards Cultural Park) of Fenghuang Xincun on Line 8 should be Tongfuxi.
Love my hometown.
can you do the madrid metro evolution?
I've heard that in the future, line 10 will interchange with line 3 extra line, so those extra stations in line 3 now will be stations of line 10 in the future
Guangzhou metro is evolving

Awesome work!!
Shenzhen next?
The Guangzhou metro and Foshan metro have been connected. Guangzhou, Foshan, Dongguan and Shenzhen will be connected. A huge metro network of four city. Expecting!!!!
Will HK's MTR be integrated too? Also they should make it through service with the high speed railways.
@@andro7862Shenzhen Huanggang Port has reserved space for MTR, but no construction schedule.
Excellent animation.
Astonishing construction.
It turns out that southern portion line 22 and line 7 west portion are gonna open in 2022. For 2023 there will be line 3, line 5, line 7 east extensions and line 11 only. Other lines would be 2024+ to complete
so from 2017-2018 line 14 is just disconnected from the rest of the network with no interchange with other lines
the phase from panyusqure to wanqinsha of line 22 will not open recently and the direction were changed.
That will be better if you could add line F2 F3 and THN1
Please do Beijing next!
Line 22 first phase, line 18 first phase will open at 2021.09.28, Line 7 west expansion will open at 2021.12.28.
and foshan line 2 as well haha😆
@@davidramblerfranca5942 Lol really, I don't know about that😂
Foshan has about 5 lines today
Great job
Line 15, 16, 17, 19 And 20 is Missing from Guangzhou Metro
Still under construction, it will be out in the future

Hello, the future south extension of Guangzhou Metro Line 22 should be from Panyu Square to Shenzhen Guangming Avenue, Line 18 South Zhongzhu Intercity to Zhongshan Xingzhong, and the future south extension to Zhuhai. There is Guangzhou Metro No. 28 from Foshan to Dongguan Songshan Lake.
Hey man, try to make "The Shenzhen Metro Evolution to 2023", will be even more interesting.

A little mistake, line 8, the station between Cultural Park and Fenghuang Xincun is "Tongfu Xi".
All the lines up to number 30 are planned but some are going to be built after 15 years
Line 18 is opened now
160km/h
Crazy! So many lines...
