- In this video I'll show you how I tie a basic jig using squirrel tail and how to add some body to the tail so it flares out to give the jig better action as well as a better profile in the water. With the simple steps in this video you will like the looks of your squirrel tail jigs much better.

Excellent technique and proportions! Thank you for sharing. A lot of folks try to tie jigs, but few do it correctly. You are a very very good tier

Thank you so much Bob
Very good and informative with information and demonstration. Well done. Be blessed.
Joe thank you so much for watching.. also thank you for the kind words.
Is there a reason why you don’t use flashing material for an add?
Yes, I use flashing on many and probably a great majority of the jigs I tie and sell. However there are times when fish don’t want all the flashing. I did years of testing with that and it’s really dependent on how my flash the body may have in it already.
Thank you
Looks awesome
Thank you and thank you for watching .
Grate video I will be trying to die my own tails soon . Thinks for the video 👍🏻
Awesome jig what's the difference in neck hackel an saddle hackel far as tying do you cut vies in both or just in the neck hackel thanks
So I feel neck hackle is less oily. The feathers on the saddle hackle seem to stick together more if that makes sense. Perhaps I should do a video and show the difference in How it looks when tied.
@@jimchurchilloutdooradventu9851 thank you just getting started just wondering witch one I should get to tie
I would recommend the neck hackle. But that’s just what I prefer.
@@jimchurchilloutdooradventu9851 thanks
Looks great Jim and has to improve the movement in the tail. Where do you get that 210 chenille :) ??
210 is the thread . I mis spoke and called it chenille. I will have to look up where I got the chenille, I think it may have been Barlows but I’ll check.
No problem, just busting your chops a bit! Enjoy your videos.
@@mikegerard8712 we all need that sometimes, especially when posting an un edited video.. lol ..
