Your perspectives are incredibly valuable and resonate with the content I've been creating. Great to be part of this knowledgeable community.

Very interesting, I really enjoy this series.
Something I noticed is that even in modern English -- albeit not so much in everyday spoken English -- 'cause' can also refer to the causa finalis, as in 'fighting for a just cause'.

The 4 causes introduction was really useful in particular when reading other philosophers explaination of non-phsycical attributes.

The difference between a natural and an artificial object, an artificial object is an emergent property of function, while the natural object is the physical thing itself. A bed is both an artificial object with the property of something upon which you rest as well as being made of a physical material of some kind.

I think the point about unnatural objects is that they do not exist indepenently, they depend on other attributes for their existence for example a wooden bed is made of wood and in fact a bed cannot exist without these other attibutes (wood, metal, etc). I believe that wood is also unnatural as it is not indepenent of soil which is needed for wood to exist and soil is unnatural because it needs earth and water (which are two of the 4 only natural 'objects')

The prof is so nice to his students... during my time at uni in the 2000's (University of Cape Town) , the lecturers were very mean and condescending. Different times, or different culture?

Which textbook are the students using?

Most (but not all) of the readings come from Classics of Western Philosophy, by Steven M. Cahn...

I understand that woodiness in bed is natural. But bed in itself is unnatural? The Bed constitutes nature thing and how it is not natural? Comes out, idea of bed is unnatural which is too silly.

Hi A.K. - Aristotle isn't so much talking about the Platonic idea of "bed", but (instead) the particular bed. It was made by someone, so is (to that extent) not natural... Cheers, Jack

It`s very easy to be an atheist in a way, especially when you are a successful person. Failure, misfortune, personal tragedy, bad health and such are huge blessings in disguise.

Why do none of your comments pertain to the video that they are posted on?

Logically, the bad things that you listed should make it even easier for someone to be an atheist.

For some purposes, perhaps; but it's pretty easy to skip past it...
