I'm glad you guys got my design to fly! Yes, RC paramotors are hard to hand launch, especially the little guys (I found it helps to rest the glider at your feet and swing it overhead with your arm fully extended. By the time its upright it would constantly takes off). And I normally had those brakes tied really short on the arms to get the best range of motion. Can't wait to see where you all take the design!
i started really watching paramotoring videos pretty seriously like a month or two ago and thats when flite test met up with aviatorppg.... thought it was a sign too haha!! really thought i was going to buy equipment but aviatorppg is backed up for lessons all the way till november! so 2500 for training and then 10k to 12k for new equipment!! a decent chunk of change to get into.... not something my 21 year old ass can do with trying to buy a home lol good luck!
Insanely coincidental. I have been a FT fan for years and attended FF16 last year in Malvern Ohio and it was a blast! We will be attending this year also. I just started learning about paramotors and watching them on TH-cam and thought to myself maybe I should make an RC paramotor and then I see this new FT video in my feed lol. It sounds just like a 2 stroke paramotor haha.
I am a Powered Paraglider Pilot myself and I usually carry something like this with me in addition to my windsock and I use it as my "Wind Dummy" If I am unsure how Rowdy the air is before I launch, I send mine up first and you will always know if you want to be up there or not by how she flies. So kool that you are so into these. You guys are awesome!
I have seen most of the FT videos, and somehow this one is one of the most satisfying. I didn't think that thing would work, but it did, and it's really beautiful. Yes keep pursuing this...
It seems like the paramotor is so much fun!! It Looks awesome in the air but frankly, just like you said. That giant proop on the back is gonna cut your fingers sooner or later. Protection bars would be a good idea I guess!! However, Keep it up and hold on to that project. Wanna see more of it ;)
you're pulling back on right stick to try and gain altitude. just use throttle. that is a brake you were pulling on. lol if anything after lift off slightly release the brakes (push forward a hair) and give a nice bit more of throttle.
Ever play with one of those water balloon slingshots? I feel like that's the optimal way to launch this paramotor... Hoping one day to see you guys take a used tricycle stroller and turn it into an RC paramotor. ;)
Reminds me, about 50it years ago, I made a hang glider model, and hung a GI Joe doll on. Receiver in body, and servos operated the arms to control it. Threw it off a big hill. Lots of fun.
I seen the original flight test of that other paramotor and was so loving it and wanted one until I realized it was not in my living price range, so this one has me with hope & excitement that one day it's in production for about the $400.00 range.
You guys are GREAT at designing and flying R/C Planes/Drones (but need a "crash course" in Parafoil flying/trimming!). You could make and market a kit, with an NPW-5 or NPW-9 "Wing"! (They use just a single layer of material, and are 80% as efficient as a Parafoil!( I've been racing Kitebuggys for the last 18 years with some of them, and winning races! (It's a Whole Lot cheaper to buy an $80 NPW-? than a $950 Parafoil...!) Haha! The small ones would be Great for your kits, as they could be made for just $15 to $25 Bucks!
Hey guys, 2 things you might look into and that's the angle of attack plus if you spread the hang points a bit further apart, the stability should be better. Happy flying ☺️☺️☺️
I have on that was buit and designed a long time ago from a now defunct company called RC Paramotor, it's a rectangular parachute with a wheeled trike, it flies awesome. The parachute is a Canadian flag design. I rigged up some LED's on the prop shroud pointing up at the canopy so now it looks like a lit up flying canadian flag when night flying. You can see a video of it flying in one of my older YTube video.
Have any of you seen a windbag rc microlight. I used to fly with a friend who had one and it was so much fun. It had a micro light body and a parafoil wing. Thanks for what you do. God bless
Interesting and way fun. Thanks for every bit of the losses and win finally. I'm not jealous you guys get to do this as part of work every day, ...just kidding, I mean yes I'm jealous! Looks like you're doing well and please a FlightFest in the deep south as soon as we can? Swamp tours style, lowlands, dark gumbo. We have a growing community of wild ones down here and you guys are immediate royalty in voodoo tech tricks and clean style.
u should make a three wheeled rc paramotor. so it can take off the same way a real one does with ground thrust then eventually gaining takeoff thrust to list the thing
I may have to come to Flitefest 2018 just to have you tune my electric, 1/4 scale powered parachute! I haven't been able to get it to turn. From your video, I know for sure the problem is in the wing setup. I hope you bring this paramotor concept to reality for the masses. Whenever I bring my rc PPC to the flying field, it always draws a crowd. Yours will too!
Hey guys, I have watched your videos for years now, and have always wondered how many first flight attempts on your more off the wall project ideas end up working so smoothly. Do you have any projects that turn out so horrendously bad you decide not to feature them on any episodes in your channel? I think it would be a cool video if you just went through some of the old (or new) material that just went completely wrong and share what you have learned from the mistakes.
your right it is sketchy i did this but the wind pushed it back into my face striking my nose 3 times. er was involved by the end i now have a scar to remind me to let my friend swing it out like you did so i don't get hit, now only he will lol. i see what you did there smart thinking josh! im going with wheels and trike frame. ps really surprised you haven't bought the paraglider chute at hobbyking yet?
You should try ducting it may give you the thrust you need and give you a place to mount some rudders. If you could tie the rudders in with the chutes turning it would probably be more stable.
I have an idea! You guys like doing crazy things so take your giant drone and drop the para glider, since it a parachute with a fan it should float like when dropped and then start the fan and "just fly"
Please give us more info. on the micro quads! I've gotten up my bushwhacker, my p-51, my versa wing, my guinea pig, and my two mighty mini warbirds. I wanna add a flite test gremlin to that list, it's the perfect quad for where I live
I designed one myself, I just need to wait 2 more days until I get my servo's :D I'm using a Quadcopter motor and Prop for thrust and an Arduino Nano as a Flight Controller :)
It is kind of a travel in time - watching you regularly - but somehow missed this .. (please accept my apologies .. ;-) ) To say the total truth - para - never in my book - too soft - was motor flying delta wing few times with friend when younger .. Now suddenly - release of HK Paramotor make me excited for this in RC.. (and watching every video..) Still no,no for real - age is factor also - but - I will volunteer for Space Shuttle if they ever put them out of museum .. - but this .. - RC is perfect!! You guys are great - keep up with your goals - RC is fun and teach you a lot of stuff - bring it to all!!
@FliteTest >>> FWIW: That cloth parafoil {paramotor wing} looks like all those bridle lines are holding the wing at too high of an angle. If you could adjust them just a bit, that might fix the problem.
I'm glad you guys got my design to fly! Thanks so much for the design and for all your hard work Lucas!! Lovin it bro! ;)
It must be a sign. I have been watching motorized paragliding videos for a week and then this. WOW.
Markus Rock same lol
its blowing up on youtube currently
Markus Rock I
i started really watching paramotoring videos pretty seriously like a month or two ago and thats when flite test met up with aviatorppg.... thought it was a sign too haha!! really thought i was going to buy equipment but aviatorppg is backed up for lessons all the way till november! so 2500 for training and then 10k to 12k for new equipment!! a decent chunk of change to get into.... not something my 21 year old ass can do with trying to buy a home lol good luck!

Its great to show how you work through a problem. That's a critical skill for the RC hobby.
"We should 3d print a little Tucker Gott with an orange helmet". 😂😂 Do it!!
It would have to have a redbull in one hand.
+Derek Bell or a McDouble
I love your channel because it makes grown men feel like kids again. lol
Haha!! Well, WE ARE GLAD to help! ;) Thanks for watching!
Insanely coincidental. I have been a FT fan for years and attended FF16 last year in Malvern Ohio and it was a blast! We will be attending this year also. Entirely AWESOME! Definitely 3D print a little Stephen or J Scott for the pilot!
Awesome drone shots over the antenna! Super stable, great framing. Nice work whoever did that.
Alex and the MAVIC for the win! ;)
Finding a way to have a mini Tucker Gott on that paramotor would be the most amazing thing ever!
Just add plaid shirt.
That RC paramoter is sweet! Looks like you'll need to cage up the props to save it from catching in the strings-- and to save a few fingers as well! 😀
I have seen most of the FT videos, and somehow this one is one of the most satisfying. I didn't think that thing would work, but it did, and it's really beautiful. Yes keep pursuing this...
Thanks for the feedback and for the encouragement friend!
:D too much fun! You guys forgot the carbon fiber safety ring for the outter hoop though! haha.
Stay safe, loads of fun to come :D
Great to see the vlogg 0069 makes an appearance,
And that'll be awesome to be able have one in the future.
You guys did a great job on the paramotor.. Most improved from beginning of vid to end!
Awesome guys. Someone had one of these at mega drone x last year with super mario as the "pilot". Sick.
Ill be jumping all over this when you guys release the design. I can't wait!!!
In your refinements you should add a little LED light pointing up at the parasail for night flying when the winds are usually at their lowest.
It's like watching a old man walk ! Great video . Thank you.
I just can't afford the big one that I can ride in, so this will be the next best thing. Awesome job guys!
That would make me nervous launching as well. Patented "BroomstickParaLauncherDevice 1.0" in the works ;)
It seems like the paramotor is so much fun!! It Looks awesome in the air but frankly, just like you said. That giant proop on the back is gonna cut your fingers sooner or later. Protection bars would be a good idea I guess!! However, Keep it up and hold on to that project. Wanna see more of it ;)
hahahaha this is so awesome!!!! I'm into 3d printing and paramotoring!
how did y'all get the antenna to curve on the transmitter for the paraglider?
I know how bissy y'all are so thank you very much for getting my order sent out so fast. you guys 🎸. lol keep up the good work.
Was the glue to secure the uFl connectors? If so what is it? I would like to use something besides hot glue.
they need to add the music from "sounds of music" when he's tring to launch the paramotor. so funny.
the hills are alive with the sounds of music!!!
Watching them launch it drove me nuts.
You guys look like you had a ball. Needed a good laugh
Thanks
you're pulling back on right stick to try and gain altitude. just use throttle.
that is a brake you were pulling on. lol if anything after lift off slightly release the brakes (push forward a hair) and give a nice bit more of throttle.
Austin Kirk I guess you're new to flite test
Been watching for the past 5 years or so.
Ever play with one of those water balloon slingshots? I feel like that's the optimal way to launch this paramotor...
Hoping one day to see you guys take a used tricycle stroller and turn it into an RC paramotor. ;)

Cool video guys keep up the good work.
Was it lacking in climb due to the offset between the centers of weight and thrust?
Wow awesome Paramotor! Interested in this one :)
I guess it would be seen as a replacement part... but wing only would be awesome option as well for those who can design/print.
What is that dirt pile for? Is that where they dig ditches and fill them in?
I seen the original flight test of that other paramotor and was so loving it and wanted one until I realized it was not in my living price range, so this one has me with hope & excitement that one day it's in production for about the $400.00 range.

Happy flying ☺️☺️☺️
what drone did you use for the timelapses?\
Nice paramotor!
The lack of egos in the Flite Test family is refreshing.
Thanks so much for your kind words DroneXfun! Thanks for being a part of the best community ever! ;)
The "Gott Bot" should be a little action figure with an FPV camera for a head!

any chance we could get the file from you. I just picked up a 2.5 meter wing(kite) and wanted to make one too.
You guys should use a falconry gauntlet to launch that crazy thing.
Q: It's time to talk about the pile. Why is it there and what does it do?
thats awesome...........gota start selling these with a flite test parasail
I just realised that your old location was a drivin' range !!! Golf related again ! Hahahahha !!!
A friend of me is flying such a wing too, no problems at all with launch
Flies great in thermals ....
Are there STL's available this?
I looked on your page and I'm going to flite fest but what do I bring for building
Have any of you seen a windbag rc microlight. I used to fly with a friend who had one and it was so much fun. It had a micro light body and a parafoil wing. Thanks for what you do. God bless
How bout those dandelions, thought my yard was bad!
Interesting and way fun. Thanks for every bit of the losses and win finally.

what are they building on the construction site?
Mattiger I wonder the same!
It's not a construction site but rather a dump site where they keep *probably* the city's dirt to use with the surrounding landscape
Jackson Krinke thx m8😊
Haha, no problem, just keep in mind I'm probably wrong to an extent
is it me or is the prop mounted on backwards? may need a pusher prop or reverse prop and motor direction.
u should make a three wheeled rc paramotor. so it can take off the same way a real one does with ground thrust then eventually gaining takeoff thrust to list the thing
Nice episode, guys.
Just needs Alex launching/dancing music ! 🤘

Nice fly.. warm tight hug from Bali - Indonesia.. a fan of you all.. 👍
Rotor... It's fun with full size ppg's too.... Or not at all!!! I need one of these to match my powered paraglider!
your right it is sketchy i did this but the wind pushed it back into my face striking my nose 3 times. er was involved by the end i now have a scar to remind me to let my friend swing it out like you did so i don't get hit, now only he will lol. i see what you did there smart thinking josh! im going with wheels and trike frame. ps really surprised you haven't bought the paraglider chute at hobbyking yet?
? where can i get the parachute? ?
Any full sized PPG update videos coming? Would love to see how you guys are progressing.
Soooooon :D
were can I buy all of it
What is the big dirt pile about?
You should try ducting it may give you the thrust you need and give you a place to mount some rudders. If you could tie the rudders in with the chutes turning it would probably be more stable.
Timelapse of the guy rolling around in his chair is hilarious for some reason.
Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like the brakes are set too short, which makes it hard to get overhead?
I have an idea! You guys like doing crazy things so take your giant drone and drop the para glider, since it a parachute with a fan it should float like when dropped and then start the fan and "just fly"

i am really interested in remote controlled parachuters, but its pretty expensive.
Just like taking a wrap on the break lines on a real Paraglider
i Love the idea of a little Tucker Gott paramotor the he mentioned! Be really cool if you could make the motor look like a scout as well!
Need some weight-shift (microlite trike) r/c aircraft videos.
I feel like your paramotor needs a couple of LED's across the top of the "man" to shine up and illuminate the wing in low light.
It was entertaining to watch but I'm glad it wasn't me. That thing would do nothing but tick me off lol!
How about hangnin the battery on a servo for added weight shift like the real aero guys do?
I designed one myself, I just need to wait 2 more days until I get my servo's :D
I'm using a Quadcopter motor and Prop for thrust and an Arduino Nano as a Flight Controller :)
Would a bigger motor help at all
Ready to chop off my fingies? XD LOL 11:20
Is flitetest having a mountain built for some slope soaring? lol 😂
Omg I want to print one!
It is kind of a travel in time - watching you regularly - but somehow missed this .. (please accept my apologies .. ;-) )
To say the total truth - para - never in my book - too soft - was motor flying delta wing few times with friend when younger ..

What if you launched like a parafoil kite, add a quick release and a long string to the bottom of the motor assembly.
Any plans?
There will be for sure :)
Thanks!
Man tj I have that same kershaw knife and love it :)
Have you guys done any HAM radio with that huge tower you have?
@FliteTest >>> FWIW: That cloth parafoil {paramotor wing} looks like all those bridle lines are holding the wing at too high of an angle. If you could adjust them just a bit, that might fix the problem.
13:13 shout out to Tucker. risky biscuits. Haha
You guys got something shipped from somewhere in Canada to Ohio in less than 24 hours?? I can barely get a pizza shipped within Canada that fast!
Take my money RC PARAMOTOR. love it.
Hey Flitetest, do any of you have ham licenses?
Not yet but I am looking into getting mine.
Soooo you're good to fly again at the shop?
nice love you guys
is it possible to have the stl file of this paramotor ??
