There are so many reasons why that isn't just fan talk .. but we all be fans talking. When Russ went down i bet my buddy 5 bucks a game on Geno .. lost that round but.. its money honestly spent .
What a breath of fresh air. He signed a team friendly contract and is exemplifying what a true team leader does. There is a respect Geno will get from fellow players that understand his sacrifice and will go to war for this man. I will be honest, I wasn’t the biggest Geno fan when he took over the helm, but I was wrong. This guy just gets it and going forward he deserves the most utmost respect from the 12’s through thick and thin.

Not sure y’all heard but Geno knew this was a team friendly deal that would benefit both sides so they can win a SB, did he just actually say that??!! I always already #1 Geno fan but DAMN do I want this guy to be our QB for the next 10 years. Completely selfless, self aware , intelligent man. I’m beyond impressed.

@@janpeterson1206you did not just stack Geno up to 3 hall of famers and imply that he plays at their level. For his career and stats, this was a massive and generous payday. These completion stats you guys keep throwing out were mid regular season stats, second half of the season he ended at an average 60% completion. Even rookies without the bad history have to put in a couple good years to show consistency. He is now getting paid nearly as much as Wilson was after he took us to 2 Super Bowls! That is absolutely insane, man, I feel like a crazy person

He earned it, and he repaid loyalty with loyalty. You can't ask anymore of your starting QB; Geno is a true team player. The breathing room he's given to Schneider and Carroll to build a championship contender is gonna pay big dividends on both sides of the ball after free agency and the draft. The contract is heavily incentive-laden and so it puts the onus on Geno to produce and improve and if he accomplishes that he gets paid handsomely. He obviously thinks he can get there, he's got the chance to prove it, and now the front office can _load_ this team with talent, especially on D. I'm anxious to see who we can get on the defensive front that will control the agenda and get in the backfield, and with the trove of draft picks we have Schneider and Carroll have to feel like kids in a candy store right about now.
Geno a _big_ boy! Something you never notice until he stands next to someone off the field.
Above all else, I can put my trust in knowing that Geno is a conscientious and upstanding human being. That and the fact that he had a terrific past year, I got total faith that Geno's gonna lead the Hawks to something big.

Man dude literally took a paycut. his deal is $75 million where the incentives only kick in 24,25 for 15 million.. even if he misses 1 incentive he loses $7 million in value. Unbelivable and just shows you how much this guy has bought into PCJS culture and I really think they will compete for SB this year. Love it. #GoHawks.
News Alert, the perseverance of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith displayed last season, is the perfect example of when a player is surrounded by a Brass who enhances his confidence by believing in his abilities as a person and leader that he can get the job done.
