My son has twelve year old and, just like me, he is in the spectrum...life is hard when you are struggling for a place in a world who are not made for people like us...we always in this beautiful war called life....his father his older sister and i are his blood riders. We teach him to fight, to persevere, to never give up and never listen to people who says.."YOU CAN'T. ..YOU DONT DESERVE ...YOU ARE NOTHING .." Your song is so inspiring to us...now he is a bright and brave youngster with a big world to know.... SHIREG!
"This is a farewell song for the warriors from their parents. Back in the days when Mongol warriors went to war, their parents would share their wisdom with them and wish for a safe return. When you listen to the song, you’ll hear in the distance the sound of a horse trotting, as the soldiers used to leave their homes for war with their horses."
Two things: 1) To my eastern European ears this music sounds very different but at the same time its ethnic / ancestral side speaks to me on a very deep, almost primal level. 2) The music is crafted in a very professional way, it's not overly complex or inaccessible but there are buildups and subtle layers and I think the musicianship displayed on the whole album is just brilliant.
So strange, this is the first time I listened to this, and half way through, I got very teary and it was very hard not to cry. Couldn't make sense of at all, it is a beautiful song and I loved it. When it was over, I looked up Shireg.... and now I know why. I do not speak or understand Mongolian, but I definitely understood what the song was about. Love this band., touches you in so many ways.
Well who know maybe you were Mongolian in the past life and your parents shiregd (shireg is like a willing, when the time Mongol empire the parents of warrior shiregd their son with good willing) you before going war or something with same as these words in the song And your soul remembered your old parents will It's just a joke if you don't understand it
this song reminds me of my horse. this song is a canter beat. stand up in front of a fan, bend your knees, lean forward, close your eyes, on the drum beats lean a little further, pulse back and forth. that's what riding a horse feels like. 'mother swan' is more of a trot. bounce with every other beat (up-bounce, down-bounce, up-bounce).
Love the horse trotting, and jingling of the bridle or saddle gear. The rythym and melody make you feel like you’re out on the steppe. This is awesome!!

The majority of people listening wouldnt understand a word, but they feel every note. Really great music unites people like that, and this is a truly great song, made by a truly great band.
I really enjoy the idea of a rock band that makes songs honoring the bonds between parents and children, in addition to their hard-driving battle songs. So much rock music seems to reflect intergenerational conflict. Yes, a lot of families are flawed, and some are terribly abusive. We can also hear the other side, where people of different generations support each other. You guys are such versatile musicians--thanks for showing us another side to your art!
music like this just isn't possible without the connection and respect for ancestry that these guys have. that's why they're so great, they haven't forgot where they have come from
Totally foolish call. Great music, such as this, does not have to be “connected” in any way, it stands alone in spite of whatever influences may sit behind the artist.
@@watleythewizard2381 You did miss his point though. It is basically like what he said. They love their country, culture, traditions and history and have a massive Respect for their ancestors. It’s that bond makes them unique in a millions of people’s eyes.
@@watleythewizard2381 you missed the point that no matter the culture we come from, some things are universal especially when expressed in music that causes a shared emotional feeling. The fact that they are sharing their culture and traditions with the world In a way that has reached MILLIONS of people is a testament to them as artist but also their talents. The art of throat singing while not exclusive to the Mongolian culture is one of the most unique and difficult sounds to master. The fact that the OP has feels a connection due to the song being a protection song for a young boy riding his horse off to join the horse and parents giving him advice but reminding him they will be waiting for him at home upon his return. Mongolian culture reveres the horse for basically being the center of their culture from being a transportation animal, a war animal, to giving them milk and also fuel for their fires in the form of manure, the mongolians are one of the most horse centered cultures in the world.
If they made us listen to ethnic inspired music in school I think we'd all have been much more willing to learn the languages, cause this is a true showcase of how beautiful they can be.
The rhythm and lyrics (though I can’t understand Mongolian) just sound so familiar and homely to my Hungarian ears! The HU is my favourite band, no doubt.
We are related but not direct. In BC 48, Hunnu empire divided into two (west and east) Western Hunnu moved to europe and later settled in there. One of the most well known king is Attila from the western Hunnu. Attila is very common name in Hungary. On the other hand, eastern Hunnu stayed in their original territory which is central asia and they are the direct ancestors of many nomadic tribes including "mongols". It's a very general information, so I recommend you make some research on this if you're interested :))
patrickohooliganpl Suppose it’s because both our nations had, have and afraid will have very complicated relations with our big (sure, for now) neighbors.

The indigenous elements in this band are just amazing.. The vocals are out of this world. I haven't been to Mongolia but this band make me want to visit
@@miraclemay24 so, when does indigenous end and whatever the other option is begin? How long does a group need to be in a place for them to become indigenous? Is migration natural or unnatural in spite of nature, or is it only when white people or Han Chinese do it that it becomes an issue? Are you certain the mongols were the first to occupy that land? (They most definitely were not). Does a group need to be nomadic or use wooden tools to make them indigenous? My point is, you were virtue signalling simply by drawing a distinction based on the arguably vague term indigenous and other cultures, implying that the indigenous elements are better than modern or western ones.

Peru and Mongolia is mostly same for some sides. Mongolia has a Altai mountain like Cordillera Blanca in your country. In my opinion, the meaning of this song is about a warrior who rides a horse climbing up for transition through highest mountain peaks alone somewhere, after leaving his or her lovely ones behind him or her, for serving for the Great Mongol Empire or taking some orders as a messenger to foreign country.

What an amazing tune, easily a lifelong favourite. :)
This music speaks to something very ancient and noble. Beautiful. I know I’m hearing something very special.
Indeed they have used old Mongolian poem as a text
My son has twelve year old and, just like me, he is in the spectrum...life is hard when you are struggling for a place in a world who are not made for people like us...we always in this beautiful war called life....his father his older sister and i are his blood riders. We teach him to fight, to persevere, to never give up and never listen to people who says.."YOU CAN'T. ..YOU DONT DESERVE ...YOU ARE NOTHING .." Your song is so inspiring to us...now he is a bright and brave youngster with a big world to know.... SHIREG!
Brother and sisters of mother earth ,stay safe and happy ! :-D Love from Norway ! :-D
Well who know maybe you were Mongolian in the past life and your parents shiregd (shireg is like a willing, when the time Mongol empire the parents of warrior shiregd their son with good willing) you before going war or something with same as these words in the song
And your soul remembered your old parents will
It's just a joke if you don't understand it
@tsekutsek4843 not just that. You know you do shireg for babies. Anyways for this song case of course.
this song reminds me of my horse. this song is a canter beat. stand up in front of a fan, bend your knees, lean forward, close your eyes, on the drum beats lean a little further, pulse back and forth. that's what riding a horse feels like. 'mother swan' is more of a trot. bounce with every other beat (up-bounce, down-bounce, up-bounce).
This song still makes me want to be a cowboy at 50yrs old here in the U.S.A.🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
Love the horse trotting, and jingling of the bridle or saddle gear. The rythym and melody make you feel like you’re out on the steppe. This is awesome!!
Virginia Boone sister, May you and your family and all of us have long life and prosperous wealth and may we rise and strive together for Mongols and all their families, brothers, sisters, and allies.
Indeed, you feel the live horse in this song and wish you had a soft saddle...
Same energy as Huun Huur Tu singing "Chirraa Khoor."
This song doesn’t have the spirit of conquest, but it gives of the feeling of riding freely in the lands you’ve conquered
Why does it have to be about conquest? :p
This song is about remembering where you came from as you travel foreign lands... It's beautiful.
Riding on a horse, with no purpose, just chilling.
This song is created for us to relax and remember who we are, where we came from.
Or just driving your car around, in modern day's sense.
Remember your Fathers and Mothers.
I like how the hoofs give the song the beat
Миний сэрүүлэгний дуу. сайхан даа

I saw them last night in Detroit. They were so good the crowd was going crazy.
They were in Detroit?! Dang, I'd have come from SOuthern Ontario to hear them, if I had known...
The crowd always goes crazy in concerts dude... it's nothing to be impressed with.
In fact, the rare occurrence, is when the crowd DOES NOT go crazy, a perfect example of that would be DJ Khaleds pathetic attempts to fire up the crowd at events that aren't even his.

Good to know, they deserve the success, and love.
The Mongolian language is surprisingly beautiful. Wish American schools taught more about Mongolian history and culture
That history is a lot of misery by their own end and to others around. At some point they went to an empire, but that was not to last and are back to the same old things. That empire time is where their overall sentiment is coming from.
Why is it surprising? Because it's an Asian language? Did you expect all Asian languages sounded like bling blong ding dong?
@@ivosarak959 by describing history only by the broadest of brushes we lose all what history should be about. Rulers are important, and military conquests too, but they are not all what history is about.

Seriously this song reminded me of my life when i was in a far away land all alone, working and studying. so little music in this day and age has lyrics that speak of worldly things, like the Mountains or Horses.
This song gives me the chills and I just goose bumped all over and started crying. I'm a tough old 55 yo woman who has had a love affair in my heart with the people of the Steppes since my childhood. So depressed I didn't find you sooner. Please come back to Australia soon
The majority of people listening wouldnt understand a word, but they feel every note. Really great music unites people like that, and this is a truly great song, made by a truly great band.
lyrics are even better
We understood one more time that music is the universal language of the world,so amazing, keep rocking, thank you so much from Turkey
@@watleythewizard2381 you totally missed my point lol
@@strongerbynature5842 I don’t think I did. You were virtue signalling.
They’re using horse hooves as the percussion and I’m in love with it
The rhythm and lyrics (though I can’t understand Mongolian) just sound so familiar and homely to my Hungarian ears! The HU is my favourite band, no doubt.
The same about Poland ;)
The Hungarians are direct descendants of the Mongolians, I think. The language is a little similar too, from what I've heard from others.
Tom Jon Yes it is similar. The word “Tenger”, for example.
patrickohooliganpl Suppose it’s because both our nations had, have and afraid will have very complicated relations with our big (sure, for now) neighbors.
I know The Hu for their metal and was not expecting this when I clicked. This has to be their most beautiful song. It’s a masterpiece
Music truly is amazing, It's universally understood even if you don't know the language.
these guys are seriously going to take over the world. they took over my world the second I heard Yuve Yuve Yu, and after hearing the rest of The Gereg, I am sold. you guys are the best !
The indigenous elements in this band are just amazing.. The vocals are out of this world. I haven't been to Mongolia but this band make me want to visit
Everything is indigenous if you look hard enough. Do you mean the traditional style, and instruments, or were you dishonestly virtue signalling?
@@watleythewizard2381 I wasn't dishonesty virtual signaling.. I meant it, not everything is indigenous.. some things change
@@watleythewizard2381 you are misunderstanding what I am saying.. yoh ai nevermind.. I wasn't referring to the land.. yazi I give up.. believe whatever makes you sleep at night. Peru and Mongolia is mostly same for some sides. Mongolia has a Altai mountain like Cordillera Blanca in your country. This one is sounding more and more EPIC, as time goes by. literal goosebumps! A song for a typical Mongol warrior in foreign lands.
