Elliotte Friedman is without question the best source and person to listen to, bar none.
Sportsnet needs to hire talent that resides outside of Toronto.
Spending almost the entire podcast talking about an eliminated team thats been choking for a decade, and basically ignoring the Oilers and Canucks series just comes off as extremely insular.
Me Me Us Us ME ME WE WE, and nothing exists outside the center of the universe, which is why everyone is loving that T.O. will always be "loserville."
It's not the talent. Toronto is the market where the money is.

They didn't spend the entire thing on the Leafs. Only the first 21 minutes. You can see right on the track bar where each segment starts and stops. If you're a regular listener here you'd know that they often touch on 6 or 7 completely different hockey subjects each podcast and then the Sportsnet marketing team creates the title based on only one of them. Just jump to the subject matter you're interested in and stop complaining.

You know what would be super Leafy? Toronto gets rid of Marner & Taveras, they both do extremely well on other teams, and the Maple Leafs continue to suck in future playoffs because a certain someone who stays behind only cares about his paycheck and his regular season records.

You can see Rielly needs help back there, and in certain situation, he just not that guy. But between the 2 they can figure it out
They also could stick Marner on the fourth line with very limited ice time. Big companies do this kind of stuff all the time when they want to force someone out. It's just business, nothing personal.
The greatest goalie in world can't stop pucks when you have a bunch of left-overs & has-beens as defensemen. But that's what Toronto has had for years since they decided to put all their cap space in just a few forwards. The Maple Leafs are all regular season supers and playoff pushover puppies. Getting rid of Marner will not change anything as long as a certain someone who wears 34 only cares about his paycheck and his regular season records. Only when he wants to play with grit will the Leafs win.
