They did their best..yes YG songs can only be felt if they are sung by the YG group itself. That's why at an audition JYP said that participants should not sing songs from the YG group as much as possible because the vibe will be different and it will reduce the feeling of the song itself.

There's a difference between Asahi & Yoshi. Asahi has a raspy vocal & currently Asahi is in black hair. Yoshi in orange hair. Asahi still haven't dye his hair orange although he wrote & compose orange song.
