Don’t worry about sharing “too many” of the challenges and mental struggles. You’re being real, and showing us what hiking can be like in less than ideal circumstances. I think you’re really brave and are doing amazing. The progress isn’t for nothing!

Honey Bee, I have followed you from the beginning of your TH-cam "career" starting with your AT thru-hike announcement video, and have watched all your subsequent 180+ videos. That being said, I don't know you, but I've seen enough of what you have shared about yourself to say that you can do this if it's what you truly want to do. And if I may be so bold as to suggest a few things: If you're still feeling "under the weather" when you get to town, get checked at a medical clinic/urgent care. Avoid hiking alone when the weather and/or trail conditions are dangerous, especially without your Garmin. Get a lightweight hard-copy book to read when there's nothing else to do and you're stuck in your tent alone. Learn a little meditation/yoga/ breathwork (maybe that's what the book could be about) to help you deal with stress and calm your mind, etc. Sorry If I'm being too pushy or it seems like I'm telling you what to do (ask my wife about that😉), but I'm just trying to be "helpful." And finally, to quote Scarlett O'Hara's final words in Gone With the Wind, "After all, tomorrow is another day!"🌄

You are doing very important work right now, it may just not be what you think or what you planned but nonetheless is the most important thing any of us can do and that is to work on our soul. You are exactly where you should be, because that’s where your soul put you. So if you are alone with time to think and feel, that is exactly what your soul needs in order to heal. It’s so important to feel whatever you’re feeling in the moment, if you’re angry then scream, if you’re sad then allow yourself to cry, don’t shy away from it, dive into it and surrender to your tears. Please allow this grief to come out of you, remember any tears you don’t cry now you will have to cry later, so don’t save them up, let them fall at your feet with each step you take. When you are alone it is a great opportunity to tell yourself the truth about your life where you are what you want, reflect on your life, what has happened to you through your life, what you have done and what was done to you. You have created through your desire, a perfect opportunity to heal the pain you have within you just trust in that and allow yourself to heal. This is something that we all need to do, so you are not alone, you are just courageous enough to share with all of us. Thank you Jessie

I’m sad to see you having so much difficulty.
Somehow I thought you’d be hiking with other people.
    The solitude must be overwhelming.
    Wishing you better days ahead.

Dear Honey Bee, I've been following you since you first set foot on the AT. Right now you are isolated compared to past experience. That will change. You are the solidest human being I have seen on this thing we call social media. It's fun to watch you do what you feel you need to do. I'm sure your family, your dog and your friends miss you even more than you miss them. Just keep moving.

Oh, Jessie! I am praying the Lord comforts and sustains you. It has been so hard for you this time around - but you are not alone. God is with you. Cast all your worries upon him. Get some rest - and do not quit when you are feeling emotional. Blessings!

What you are doing is very difficult and you are staring the trail in difficult conditions. You can do this. The snow will not melt for a long time so just accept it and keep going. You are learning every day and it will get easier.

You're not complaining. You're keeping it real. Make smart and safe decisions for yourself. Think them through thoroughly. We don't want you getting hurt. You already know from hiking the AT that you have to be willing to be uncomfortable at times on trail. Don't let your mind win. You know you can do this. Sunny days are coming! Keep going!

So sorry to hear you are having such a rough start! Some mountain trails (I live in mountain West area) are not hikeable until mid July due to the snow (which you show for your hike in vid). Next year I plan to hike the Colorado Trail and recomended start date is 3rd week of June or in July due to snow conditions on the trail. Hope and pray things are working out for you now and you found your trail buddy again. Keep on keeping on

I hope you could optimize your way of moving in the meantime and that you made great progress as fire season is upon us and there are trail closures already. Hopefully you made it to Stehekin before the fire as right now you could not go to Rainy pass from Harts pass.
If you have let's say a 2 week delay with the videos you are probably fine.
Generally, the PCT is so much nicer to hike than the AT. It may be a little bit dusty right now and you need to be comfy with sun exposure the entire day, in a heatwave, but once you figure this out it is smooth and fast sailing every day. The altitude of the PCT helps a lot as it is cooler in the mountains.

This trail is not a solo hiking trail.
When you get to the next town, adopt someone to accompany you for safety for both body and mind.

It has been a rough start for sure. I sense you can do this trail though. I think you made great decisions on Hart's Pass. In 2022, I made it 14 miles before anxiety took over and I was not able to get past it.

Dang, I'm sorry you're off to such a bad start. It looks miserable. Hope Lucy is okay.
Would love to see you keep going and finish, but also completely understandable if you stop and pick it up again later. Take care.

Make the decisions that seem right for your situation which you seem to be doing. Find your friend knowing that she is equipped to make the same decisions you are. Then decide how to move forward. No need to stop, just move forward knowing the conditions and adjusting for them.

Do not camp under trees in thunderstornlms. Camp AWAY from trees since lightning can strike them och then they break and you are burnt alive in your tent with a firy tree top on top of you. Thunderstorm can also bring sharp very strong gusts of wind and then you might be crushed under a huge rotten branch or tree top. A tree looking healthy from below doesn't mean it is not rotted through high up. Those kind of trees do not protect against rain either. When the rain is finished the trees will still drip on you. Large drops which are better att penetrating the tent cloth.

IMHO, having watched two of these vids, you seem like the entirely wrong person to be challenging yourself in nature. I would suggest entirely shifting your mental focus AWAY from the myriad of negativity you appear to be steeped in.
