Fun fact: The music for the various rides was composed especially for Phantasialand and partly recorded by international music orchestras.
Phantasialand is truly a masterpiece! My favorite theme park ever! I’m going there once a year since I was a baby!🥹💜
Oh believe me, Taron is insane. They can't build high up because it's next to a residential area, but man this thing hits! 2 rocket launches hitting you like a truck in those tight corners, but still remarably smooth. simply amazing
Phantasialand is in the middle of a residential area. They cannot not build super high and have to care about noise levels. Also the land area is severely limited with no possibility to expand.
That's why they have been so creative with intertwining rides and very forceful, world class coasters being not too tall, but rather going below ground at places or using launches etc.
Given what it does for feeling and theming, it almost seems like the restrictions made the park better, because they had to invent and care about every tiny detail, rather than build massive metal structure on near empty pieces of land.
Phantasialand is located right next to a residential area, so they have to do a lot to protect against noise. One measure is the theming that completely surrounds many of the loud rides and of course they look fantastic and there is hardly a spot where you can hear things from outside the park. You are not torn out of the isolation of being somewhere else entirely.
I was there like 30 years ago. The thing i enjoyed the most was the space rollercoaster, it was in the dark with little lights making it look pretty spacy 🌌
I live in Cologne (30-45 minutes away from Phantasialand) and I try to go to Phantasialand at least once a year. It has rides/attractions for every target audience and age group - a lot more than what's being shown in the video. If you ever visit Cologne for more than a couple of days, make sure to pay it a visit, you won't regret it
I lost it completely at your rant about the commercials, LOL
oh noooooooooooooo, I did not edit it out?? SMH LOL
@@ReactionsbyD Now I imagine you doing that on EVERY video on your channel and just edit it out afterwards, and I find it hilarious!
EDIT: you edited most of it out, but not everything, still some F-bombs in there ;) I loved it
Remember that German kids grow up with all this fairy tales. And living where it originates.
And because the kids decide wich park the family goes there has to be so much theme stuff because in Germany the kids would be bored wit just metal stuff.
Cologne, the closest bigger city near Phantasialand is worth a visit. Stay a few days in Hamburg, visit Miniaturwunderland and then hop on a train to go to Cologne. You can not only go to the theme park and see Cologne city, you can take a boat tour on the Rhine and see some castles (that river is packed with castles), make a trip to Trier, Germany's oldest city and many other things that are not far from Cologne.
You are so right... D should also visit the Upper Middle Rhine Valley with it cosy mideavel towns, castles and delicious food....and of course delicious beer and wines...he can`t go wrong with it😁😉😋
For roller coasters: Europapark in Rust, Germany,
has been winning the theme park Oscar (US) for years
It's just Mack's showcase room... this is a little family owned park that can't get bigger in size.
The rides at EP are meh. Even the new Voltron is rattling and rumbling...
@CavHDeu Certainly a matter of taste
@CavHDeu
A small family-run park? 😂 What a stupid statement🙊 Europapark is the second largest theme park in Europe after Disney Paris! Four large and many smaller roller coasters. Brilliant water rides, an d excellent shows. And Voltron is a unique record roller coaster and one of the best in Europe! The theming in this park is absolutely impressive😲Incidentally, Europa Park has already won the best park in the world award eight times👌
@@jasondelmaitre2838 i was talking about Phantasialand. Idiot!
EP sucks, Mack rides sucks. Hail Phantasialand!
Dear D..... That would be my dream watching you on a vaccation road trip through Germany and all your impressions on your channel...why not? Please think about it...Many greetings from Germany😉🙂
8:30 there is thick glass under the wood
10:00 not just a kids ride trust me. It was opened by Michael Jackson
12:25 my favorite coaster in the world and it doesn't have a single inversion 😂 the night ride is out of control. Love it!
By the way that's their theme music in the video.
"Phantasialand" is the nearest park for me to go to (about 1,5 hours car trip). It's really a great park, but like others wrote, due to the location, "small" when you are used to American dimensions.
But its theming is one of the best in the world.
You know, 30 years ago there was Disney growing (especially in Florida) and (at least) the German theme parks watched and learned. Disney and Universal always had the better animatronics and the world famous licenses/brands, of course. It's a difference, if you ride a Marvel-Coaster or enjoy a Harry Potter Darkride instead of the same ride with an unknown character theme.
But when it comes to the dense of atmosphere and use of new technology, our parks outrun Disney (nearly) today. I've been to Disney World in 1998 and 2023 in Disneyland Paris. I recognized about 80% of all attractions. Sounds good, but if you ask "What did they do in the last 30 years?", it's just "refurbishing". They got some new rides, of course, but also only "re-themed" old ones (like the "Twilight Zone Tower of Terror" in California becoming a "Guardians of the Galaxy" attraction or in Paris the "Rock'n Roller feat. Aerosmith" coaster now is a Marvel/Iron Man ride. It's the same ride, only new paint, new music (sadly) and new videos on the screens.
That doesn't match with the "Phantasialand". If you look once a decade, the park has 50-80% changed. And really changed, not only refurbished.
BTW, my favorite coaster in Germany is "Taron", followed short behind by "Wodan" (wooden coaster in the biggest German Theme Park "Europa Park" in Rust, Southern Germany). I didn't have the opportunity to try the 2024 new addition "Voltron Nevera", but I think next year we visit the Europa Park again (it's 5 hours from us, so we need to stay a few days).
Miniatur Wunderland to Phantasialand is a 5 hour train ride.
If you're up for rides, you should stop a Europapark, too.
You can only see the shots at night if you stay in one of the hotels. Almost every theme has hotels where you can stay overnight. In winter, when the sun sets at 5 pm, you can ride the roller coasters in the dark.
What gets a little lost, some roller coasters are very special, one has one of the fastest accelerations in the world and in the roller coaster that was shown at the beginning and at the end, you basically lie in it and you fly around in the Superman pose.
By the way, the Phantasialand is about 4.5 hours away from Hamburg if you go by car.
Hamburg is located in the north and Cologne in the west of Germany.
There is another larger park in Germany (Europa Park), which also has more of the classic roller coasters, but it is located at the other end of Germany in the southwest. That's about 12 hours drive from Hamburg on the Autobahn,
But there is still a very nice park in the Netherlands called Efteling, which is also very nice and is only 2 hours away from Cologne where Phantasialand is located. However, this park is more geared towards children's needs. This theme park is also very nicely designed, with many loving details.
Many Germans go there with their younger children because it's simply nicer for children. For the adults there are also some very nice roller coasters and the like.
If you ever decide to come to Germany you'd have to try out Phantasialand. In nature it's even more phantastic😉. You'd have to stay a minimum for a night to only have time enough to see everything once.
453 km by car from Miniatur Wunderland to Brühl Theme Park = 4 hours 41 minutes 😅
They have very limited space and people live very near the park. That‘s why they can‘t build high coasters. They do the oposite: they dig deep and create highly detailed areas like this. Some of these coasters hold or held world records. The theming is respected worldwide. Amazing atmosphere in this park.
Colorado adventure seems like the casual family coaster, but especially when you sit in the back, it surprises you with force. What this video doesnt really show is that taron is pretty fast, on its second launch it gets to 117kph, combined with all the near misses and sudden curves it feels intense. Same with Black mamba or fly, you have all those near misses and the scenery and the coaster going over and under itself that everything seems faster being on the coaster than watching them. Winjas fear and force in wuze town have funny trick elements and arent your usual spinning coaster. The reason why wont find any mega coaster is that phantasialand is limited in how they can build. Residents live nearby which is why there is a limit to the height of coasters. Everything has to be build in a way that sound pollution is kept to a minimum. The park also has a limited area to build on, making it much smaller than other parks. But they manage to create really immersive worlds that are cut from each other but you can still reach anything within a few minutes of walking. Living nearby this unfortunately also means that childhood memories are lost at some point, because the park has to destroy something to create something new, but what they do ends up amazing. I wonder what their next plans are, but with the recent shut down of hollywood tours, the next project could be where the former space center was. The indoor coaster in there is over 20 years old, its a enjoyable but mediocre rollercoaster and is the longest indoor coaster in the world. It has been rebranded to temple of the nighthawk which to the opposite of phantasialand standards was simply completely in pitch black darkness and had a poorly themed waiting line. A couple of years ago it has been changed into a vr coaster which made it live up again. Geister Riksha is an outdated darkride in china town, it would be a good pick for something new as well. The problem here is that china town has the biggest chinese building outside of china and has beend built and manufactured by chinese craftsman. The hotel ling bao. Other than that there is only a madhouse. If it wasnt for how much went into creating china town, it would be an easy pick for a remodeling.
Not insane Achterbahn? Try it.
Taron ist one of the best Rollercoaster in the World. Bei seiner eröffnung war er der schnellste und längste Multilaunch Coaster Weltweit. Gerade der zweite launch hat es in sich.
The first roller coaster is FLY and cannot be compared to Batman, there are two LSM launches, the track goes directly through the hotel, you get on while sitting and are turned into a reclining position during the ride. Fly was the first multilauch flying coater and the longest, by the opening.
Black Mamba is one of the best inverted coaster, up to 4.5g act in the curves
Colorado Adventure , "The roller coaster for the kids", has a length of 1280m 4200ft and three liffthills
And Colorado Adventures was dedicated to Michael Jackon (Michael Jacksons Thrill ride)
also interesting: it has 1,8 million visitors per year on an area of 28 hectare, while disney world has 60 million visitors on 15000 hectare xD
way too big the disney "copycat" xD
I guess he dont like commercials on youtube. 😂
Yeah I cant stand them - but I always edit that OUT lmao - thats why I really go OFF sometimes with them, because I know you all will not see me flipping out - and then my dumb ass forgets to edit it out SMH - well...now I did!!! lol
@@ReactionsbyD i like your Outburst of rage. You dont have to delete it 😅 i hate the commercials, too. I have the feeling that it's getting more every day and you can't watch for 2 minutes without an advertisement coming

@@herbertwolf-su1uf ja und was ist so lustig daran?! Spinner...
LIMITATIONS are an opportunity, because you need to use your BRAIN to figure out how to use the available space in the most efficient way. Thus the whole thing will be better designed than the HUGE parks in the USA.
@@Muck006 so true. That's why i use hardware synthesizers instead of software. I love those kind of limitations.
Funfact: Taron was built by the same guys that built the Velocicoaster at Universal Studios Orlando
My power best park in germany...powerful attractions...powerful history😊❤
Wow, I don't recognize the park! I was there about 30 years ago when my daughter was a child. And it was amazing even then!
Die haben sich selbst übertroffen.
If you visit Miniatur Wunderland I also recommend visiting Heide Park Soltau which is also a very good amusement park and not that far away from Hamburg like Brühl where Phantasialand is located.
Black mamba has an sctual ride time less than 2 minutes , its way more fast than you guess by such videos after my first ride of it, I thought please again, this was too quick and the staff let me sit there ... and I just realised how quick it must have been xD
The distance between Miniatur Wunderland (Hamburg) and Phantasialand (near by cologne) is roughly 400 km. I estimate that it would take 4-5 hours by car from 1 place to the other
Autobahn in Germany 300 mph mehr legal😂
@@herbertwolf-su1uf nur wenn mman als Fahrer damit umgehen kann !
Phantasialand is my home park and one of my favorite parks. There are many restrictions for the park due to size and being located in a residential area. They turned the theming into an art. Europa Park is also a great park or Efteling in the Netherlands.
Damn, that Epic music ♥️ Hans Zimmer... Go Home 😂
The whole music for this parc is composed by IMAscore in Paderborn, germany. There is a playlist on spotify called "This is Phantasialand". Enjoy
This is the most themed amusement park in the world. Definitely superior in comparison e.g. to Disneyland Paris. The rides are literally everywhere around you, above you and beneath you. Therefore one feels a complete different immersion. Almost need a 3D map to get around the park. The best thing: Though the rides are not spectacular in heights, but they are nasty long, going on forever.
The sad Thing about this Parc is 1. It has ONLY 2 Darkrides, the rest are Rollerscooters and Attractions for Children. The Parc is not very Disabled friendly, like wheelchair users, there are Stairs everywhere and you can't get to some areals when you are not able to walk good (this includes persons with a walking stick or rollator)
You have to know that the Phantasialand is build in a town near Cologne. There are directly adjacent residential buildings around the park. For this reason the park has to deal with a strict height limit. You will not see any high build coasters there. And the park is small with almost no room for expansion. If they want to build something new they have to tear down something old for it. The Phantasialand is a family business and started as a park with animatronic dolls. The most outstanding unique selling point is their exuberant theming. That not only looks good but is also part of stong regulations not just in terms of height but also in terms of noise level. It's not just metal supports on a meadow. From Miniatur Wunderland to Phantasialand is 453km or 281miles. Would be a five hour trip.
Hello D.
Have you been in Germany already? If not, I would be proud to invite you and your wife for about 2 weeks vacation, travelling around together through germany and show you how amazing our little country is in reality.
I live near cologne, so we can start in Phantasialand, then miniatur wonderlamd in hamburg, boat tour at the rhine river, etc., etc.
I would be very proud if you will allow me showing you great places in germany!
Please tell me if you are interested😊 Many Greetings
Klaus
Hi, for your question. MWL Hamburg > PHL Brühl ca. 450 km/280 miles :-)
Piece of cake for an American 😉
D yes they are ... youtube needs to cut down on the terrible ads And i 100% agree with your choice of words there
This one is close to Cologne, the Miniaturwelt is in Hamburg, that's 432 Kilometers (268 Miles) apart.
See Video, with 417 km/h bougati of german Autobahn is legal 😂
Phantasialand is near Cologne. 4,5 hours by train from Hamburg. But you will visit Cologne anyway.
We went to Phantasialand back then with a group of about 20 people, but that was over 30 years ago. I haven't been back since. It's something for younger people! 😂
don´t lie, its for every person anything. ! as long as you are not a living zombie with nearly 100 years on your life list xD in that case I would agree with your saying
Taron🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
i really love this park, slept twice in the 3 hotels they have on-site
the flying coaster is a next gen flying coaster made by the dutch company vekoma
6:06 chiapas has the steepest drop in the world for a log flume
The Phantasialand and the Miniature Wonderland is about 453 kilometers distance.Thats around 281 miles. It takes on the autobahn around 4.15 hours, maybe 4 hours.
I doubt he'd use a car ... because that would ad an additional level of confusion & unfamiliarity (unless there is a "native driver that knows the way and how to drive". Trains are much easier for a tourist.
Phantasialand is south of Cologne. That'll be a drive of more than one hour from Hamburg (except on a Sunday morning at 4:30).
Autobahn is Not Speed Limit 😂 280 Miles in 2 hr😂
The "Pantasialand" is my homepark. You are right about the last scenes. The parc is closed. It is a benefit for the hotel guest at the parkhotel "Charles Lindberg". They are allowed to be in Rookburgh at night, simply because the rollercoaster layout goes through the hotel. This is absolute unique. When you stay onsite, you can walk the hotelbar, the restaurant and of course the place itself.
Regards from germany
Of course there are "wayyy BIGGER rollercoasters" in the USA, because you have WAYYYYYY more space to build such parks.
you have to remember that european theme parks don't have the same space as us theme parks, everything is a bit more compact, every millimeter counts.
yeah but the scenery is perfect, so much attention to detail for all rides
you will find alot of big roller coaster in germany. and just for information, the biggest and fastest rides worldwide are mostly developed by germans. phantasialand is a bit more relaxed its all about the themes.
greetings

Big Themepark in Germany cost a Beer 4 euros. USA 20 Dollar, why?
The "american capitalist mindset" of ... "you can charge whatever you can get away with for MAXIMUM PROFIT!"
"Screwing over your fellow citizen with a fake product" is totally fine.
1:53 - "Put your bands up?"
Difficult to get on this rollercoaster! 😄
One of the smallest theme parks in Germany, but filled to the brim with amazing theming and record breaking attractions. Phantasialand can't expand due to a nature reserve nearby, so they have to constantly reinvent themselves to stay relevant. And they're doing a pretty fine job!
One important detail you probably dont understand (yet): *this is GERMANY, so the TÜV gets to CHECK EVERYTHING in regular intervals to make sure the rides are SAFE!*
Looking at DISNEY ... where they dismantled "Splash Mountain" to replace it with "the same ride but uglier" ... and it BROKE DOWN during a "premiere" for selected influencer guests ... this is a significant difference.
