Wowww this is sooo good! Just made it, eating it right now. I LOVE this recipe! I've always disliked the cinnamon and/or brown sugar version of mashed sweet potatoes. I used to think I just don't like sweet potatoes then. So I can't believe right now, for the first time I'm enjoying these mashed sweet potatoes! The garlic, parm, sour cream add such fantastic flavor. I feel more like I'm eating regular mashed potatoes this way. I just don't like sweet things in general, so I'm so happy I found this recipe.
Been wondering if sweet potatoes could becomes a sensible substitute for normal potatoes. So that's actually quite good to hear, especially considering that sweet potatoes appear to be the healthiest food known today considering that Okinawan centenarians eat mostly sweet potatoes for their diet (about 700~800 grams per day).

I like my mashed sweet potatoes sweet, I add brown sugar and a pinch of cinnamon.
