    They always do these video's with either labs or already trained dogs, lets see you do it with an unruly dog like a aussie kelpie and see who wins.

    This works brilliantly with my GSD, the only thing that ever has done.... BUT no matter what adjustments we make in rubs under his front paw and causes a swelling. Have had to use it very carefully, ie: taking him TO the field, then taking it off while he plays and putting in back on to bring him home, no way could I take him on a long walk with it on.

    I love this harness - I have a husky - he is impossible to walk (and he's a puppy) We got one of these and today it was super easy. He still pulls but not half as hard as he was. It was actually an enjoyable walk. We just got him in to training classes so I'm exciting to see how he grows and works better with this harness. We got the regular one, not the head collar.

    Show walking a pulling dog with this harness. The lab in the video is very calm and cooperative.

      Fred Yerman yeah all these videos show dogs that dont need anti pull devices. Ridiculous.

      We adopted an adult Great Pyrenees from rescue last year. The Easy Walk has made ALL the difference in the world when we walk her! It directs her momentum back to the walker and makes it a lot easier to keep her under control.

      It causes them to automatically be pulled back towards you due to the martingale loop. If they pull away from the leash it causes a tighening on the opposite side which redirects them at the shoulders towards you. Product is great, night and day from a standard collar. As a puppy just the harness took her from choking from pressure on the throat due to pulling to easily loose leash walking in a matter of a few walks and instantly gave a better ability to lead. These are for temporary use so you can develop good walking behavior as their use as a dogs only harness/collar can restrict full extension of the legs which occurs primarily from use while off-leash. We transitioned out lab over easy to a standard martingale collar so it has some of the same effect while still being much better for the dog than traditional collars, choke chains, etc.
      My lab is just like the one in the video with the easy walk on (looks the same too) and without it's use during early training, it would have been much more work to teach what this collar does. The dog pulling away causes a redirection without the need to tug on the leash or only a light pull. Plenty of examples of it working on TH-cam. There will always be a few cases of dogs who have been so improperly trained that they fight and fight and fight, but the they aren't at the stage where they should just be out on a walk out of the yard or even the house. I found it best to prevent distractions and grabbing items from the ground allowing me to focus on proper heeling and attention on my movement without watching the dog. It is a tool to be used WITH proper training, not a substitution.

      @@julessevenky8316 would this be good on my husky who always pulls like crazy especially when there are other dogs? I'd love to be able to keep walking my dog and being relaxed about it , but am always on edge cos my dog hates other dogs and my dog is super strong.

    • @julessevenky8316
      @julessevenky8316 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MargiesSims All I can say is try it - it's not an expensive harness and really did make a difference for us. We've since moved to a large PetSafe 3-in-1 harness, which has a little more structure to it. Loving this one, too. I think the best results with any harness will come when you use it in addition to training - actively working to teach your dog not to pull.

    We take care of an unruly Sheltie from time to time, and his owner will NEVER train him, so I just tried the Easy Walk Harness on him from the pet supply shop home, and it worked. Between my husband's bad back and the poor untrained doggie pulling till he choked, this was a necessity.

    I use gentle leader head collar on my 10 month old lab pup. It works great, but he doesn't like it on. I wonder if this harness works better than the head collar. Does anyone know? I have a 2nd pup and I'm planning to get something effective. If anyone has tried both, let me know which one works better (for lunging, pulling, sniffing around, etc). Thanks!

    This breastbone only harness seems to be a lot less complicated to use than the one that has this feature and a lead attached to dog's shoulder area. But it still looks a bit odd. But that's just part of the deal I guess. Take it or leave it. Huh?

    No matter how snug I fit this, my husky always ends up having the lash under her armpit. Granted, walks are 1000 better with his harness, she still pulls and has found that when she gets her front leg over the leash, she can pull a bit harder without getting turned around.

    • @PetSafeInternational
      @PetSafeInternational  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rals, it sounds to us that the leash potentially could be too slack. If you take the slack off the leash a little (reduce the slack), then shorten the leash, your dog shouldn't be able to get her leg over. If that doesn't work, give us a call on 0800 046 1414 and we will be happy to advise and assist. Thanks, PetSafeUK

      Clip the leash to the collar as well as the harness. This will also give you some more control of their head (if he stops for a snack, etc.)

      I do. No matter how snug fitting it is, the front part always hang low on my husky, which causes her foot to hop over the leash so the leash ends up under her arm pit.

      @@PetSafeInternational you can see by your promotional video that it could rub under the arm pit the bottom strap needs to be further away from the dogs front legs otherwise you run the risk of a rub. Based on your video I wouldn't put one of them on my dog

    How well do these work for dogs that drag behind, instead of ahead? Walking my shepherd is like dragging a sack of potatoes.

    • @PetSafeInternational
      @PetSafeInternational  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Don,
      Thank you for your message! Unfortunately our Easywalk harnesses are designed for dogs who pull i'm afraid.
      A dog that lags behind will react the same on any harness or collar and lead as you would be using a pulling motion to move the dog forward.
      Perhaps a treat every time your dog comes to your side might coax him to the right position in time.
      Good luck with training your Shepherd and If there is anything else we can help you with just ask.
      Thank you,
      PetSafe UK.

    These are not good harness as they restrict shoulder movement which leads to injury. They also don't prevent pulling without a potential for injury to other joints. They're nothing more than an aversive tool that dos not address the actual behavior.
