    Thank you. Very fair and accurate review. I have been using the GFX system since the 50R came out. It is all about ultimate image performance. I think the 100s adds increased versatility with its reduced weight and size compared to the 100. My ultimate landscape kit is the 100s 23mm (or 30mm), 45-100mm, 100-200mm and an XT4 with 70-300 for the added reach.

    Your videos keep getting better and better. I am not a big fan of the top display, instead, an exposure compensation dial would have been nice. And if the back display is not fully touch capable, then a 4 way pad is a necessity in my opinion. It could also have been larger. There is a lot of wasted space on the right side of the back panel. What do the two buttons on top do? They look like an afterthought and not placed ergonomically. I agree, this is a professional photographer's camera, either studio product work or high resolution portraits. In the field, I would rather go with the D6 or 1DX, or their R1, Z9 equivalents for their ruggedness and lens selection. But for what this camera can do image quality wise, it fits that special niche it was intended for quite well. It might be interesting to compare the practical output of one of Sony's high resolution FF cameras and this one. Finally, you might do a video about "large sensor video" and what that means. Thanks, stay safe.

    • @TheHybridShooter
      @TheHybridShooter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you! One of those buttons controls the top LCD, so that is a logical placement. Fujifilm's minimalist controls are largely based around Q menu, which is touch sensitive, IMO the best on the market and for me it makes up for almost all missing controls.

      For landscapes, interiors and portraits, this camera has no alternative. Previously, it was possible to see comparisons of Sony A7RIV and Canon 5DS with the previous generation of Fuji at 50 megapixels, the difference was very large, with Fuji at 100 megapixels it is simply inappropriate to compare them.

    Great Review, one question. You compared ISO perfomance, the Standard Lens here is a F4 compared to F2.8 with 35mm Camera. so you need more Light with this Camera right? Doesn't this neglect the 1 Stop iso advantage ?

    • @TheHybridShooter
      @TheHybridShooter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, no, if you use the same settings on both cameras, you will get cleaner images with GFX. Depth of field will be shallower on GFX, but I don't think that the purpose of 44mm sensor is to match DoF of smaller sensor cameras.
      F4 on GFX gives you similar results to F3.2 on full frame, but that is a matter of lenses, not the cameras.

    Add to this a cable release (Shutter release in digital language) and a good tripod without the center pole. Only with these can you get maximum benefit from the camera. I found this out when I got my 50mp Pentax 645Z so it will be more important with 102mp. Please don't use the self timer as a cable release, they are only $10 or so on eBay. It has a 2.5mm connector by the way.

    • @TheHybridShooter
      @TheHybridShooter  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. That is what the IBIS is for. You can get maximal sharpness hand-held down to about 1/20s and then very solid sharpness down to 1/10s. Using self-timer is also completely fine.

    I think all the photography sensors market will be focused in bigger sensors. I think 1" sensors will be the new "normal" for high end smartphones and action cameras. I think APS-C will be the new normal for pocket cameras that now uses 1" sensor. The FF will be the new APS-C and the medium format will be the new FF. You can see it in smartphones now with 1/1.2 sensors or in Sigma FP near pocket size with FF sensor. Greetings from Chile

    • @TheHybridShooter
      @TheHybridShooter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is difficult to predict. 35mm full frame sensor has been the standard for all-round professional use for decades and that probably won't change due to size of overall 44mm package. There will definitely be an increased demand for 44mm+ sensor cameras in the near future though.
      I don't really care about 1/1.2" or even 1/1.7" smartphone sensors, because those are only available in oversized phablets. Once they put it inside 6.1" iPhone, I will call it a technological advancement.

      No, not at all, this presumption needs to be revisited. I was pleasantly surprised by 32-65mm. The AF speed has completely changed after FW 1.1 lens update, which made it work with phase detection. It is night and day difference. 50mm F3.5 is also completely fine. I still wouldn’t recommend GFX system for sport or BiF, but it is completely fine for everything else.

    Good camera, uninteresting lens. FF has much more versatility that in my opinion destroys any benefits that medium format provides.
