Thanks for watching man! 🤙 The area where I launched doesn’t have direct water access for a trailer. The boat ramp or one of the open areas off the main entrance would be your best bet.
The Minn Kota lasted about 15 trips in the saltwater before it stopped working. I’ve since switched to a Newport Vessels 55lb thrust “kayak series” motor and have been very happy with it, plus the warranty doesn’t void in the saltwater.
@@saltwatersessions Thanks for the quick reply. I found mixed info all over the net. Most people used the Enduras for years in salt before they started corroding. I opened mine and used tacky grease on all seals, and gave it 3 coats of spray enamel paint, Plus I added a zinc anode to the skeg. Hope I'll get lucky. If not, my all too understanding wife will have to agree to a Newport :D
@@AndiDan The Minn Kota still looked great in the end, the only bit of rust was on the metal screws that clamp to the transom. I did freshwater rinses after every trip and would re-grease the sheer pin after every other trip. I think the issue with mine was drifting seaweed getting into the prop which in turn burnt out the motor. I had to lift it out of the water several times that day because it kept bogging down. I still think it was worth every penny of the $100 I paid for it.
@@saltwatersessions Thanks for the details. I hope to be able to clean the prop faster, since I replaced it with an APC prop, according to a youtube video linked here. It's $3 and it massively increased my speed, plus it's very easy to clean. Maybe it fits your Newport. th-cam.com/video/hXXxVkSg3jE/w-d-xo.html

Hey, looks like you are using a freshwater Minn Kotta. I plan to do the same. How does it hold up to salt?

Act cool 👊😅 (smooth)
I for real thought he was gonna flop out the yak 😆
Could you wade out here?
Not so much in this specific area, but there’s tons of awesome wading areas throughout the park.
Nothing like red fish and pomp
Love pomp. I needs a pomp!
