As for the volume of both the original Cube Street, and the Cubestreet 2, I have been told to turn the volume down while open air busking. I was so impressed.

Just got one of these. I tried the original Roland Cube Street a couple of years ago and while the guitar channel was passable with my acoustic, I hated the sound of a mic running through it. This new Boss Cube Street 2 is massively better! Plenty of power for such a small amp, a warm but clear sound from the guitar channel, and handles my vocals perfectly. I use a Marshall AS50D for gigs where I have mains power, and the Cube Street 2 is up there with it in terms of sound quality - obviously it's not as loud, but plenty for busking in town centres with volume limits.

I use my tablet for the backing tracks. There is a built in eq and i can adjust the low mid and hi no problem. I play basic bass, drums and a tiny bit of keys in my tracks. works great!

It looks cool but I love my Cube Street EX it's an awesome versatile amp perfect for busking, small gigs & DJ-ing it's an excellent amp with plenty of volume (power). If there's going to be an updated version of the Cube Street EX some good new features would be a removable rechargeable battery because It's a real pain messing about with separate individual batteries, Some EQ (HI, MID, LO) on the audio device input channel for backing tracks & a master volume level control would be cool.🤞🙏👍🎤🎸🎹🎼🎶🎵

I don't see how watts correlates with volume tbh. Considering watts is just used as a measurement to show how much power it takes to operate something. Has nothing to do with volume.
Like does an amp that draws more power (higher watt amp) always louder than an amp that is a lower watt amp?

    • @gowerdave
      @gowerdave 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

You need to appreciate the difference between power consumption and power output.

    • @MichaelStoneham

I would think that 50watt is 10x louder than 5watt. Plus new technology watts are louder and clearer than they used to be. Roland/boss EX technology uses this.

Sound quality is considerably better on boss street ii for both vox and guitars, but you do have to run it a bit quieter than the ex (so you don't overload the smaller speakers). Personally i prioritize tone over volume always, but if you play in a loud spot you might reconsider?

I suppose you used the power main line (and not the AA batteries) to run your Cube ST2. The Cube ST2 (same as Cube EX) has no ground, so I have the following problem here - electric guitar involved: if I slightly touch the knobs or the strings at half volume, gain, tone control etc. there is always a very disturbing cracking sound in the speakers, because I am probably "grounding" the amplifier/guitar by touching the chassis of the guitar. Well, if I try to touch AND HOLD one of the mentioned guitar metal parts ALL THE TIME while playing, then there is no cracking sound. We have 220V AC main power lines here. Did you have this problem too? Running with the 8 AA batteries, everything is OK. Any suggestions maybe? Thx.

Certainly needs an earth on the power supply you are using. I had similar problem with a Yamaha THR 5 power supply and the Spark 40 original mains supply fixed when they reluctantly replaced it with 3 pin earthed power supply unit.

For amplified acoustic vocals & instruments (I busk with fiddle) I’ll take the Fishman Loudbox Mini Charge over the Cube Street amps. Much more robust, better quality components, & richer full range sound with headroom to spare. I get loads of compliments when using it. Downsides: 1). all that quality adds weight. I think it’s 21 lbs, so I use a cart. 2). Not as many fx or as much routing.

Great video. I just bought one of these recently and added the FS-6 footswitch to be able to turn the vocal harmonizer on and off. To do this, I have to press the footswitch twice every time to switch back and forth (in latch mode) between harmony on and harmony off. Changing to momentary mode doesn't help. About £56 U.K. for an fs6 , depending on if you need latching or momentary you could use alternative cheaper ones

For the price, bluetooth adapter should be included. ....then you need to buy the FS footswitch's to turn effects on/off ?????WTF!!!

    • @DAVEBLISS2007

Yes the Bluetooth duo is 50€ extra, a rip off price. Should have been built into the product.

Volume doubles every 3dB, but in practice a 10 watt amp is loud enough to get complaints. Ha ha.

Watts Schmotts.. they mean nothing. . How many dB at a meter? thats the real measure of output.

I had this amp at home, and what can I say? This amp is a toy.
Roland sacrifices materials in order to make this amp lightweight.
    Sounds boxy, no essence.
Lot of features, but didn't convinced me.
    Nice try Boss (again).

Well lump your heavy tube amp around to busk and amongst all the other noise, enjoy that "essence".

Sounds boxy? Cant agree with you. Im using this amplifier for busking in public. I set the volume at 60% and its defintiley loud enough to entertain people. It has only 10w but the sound is rich and clear

There is absolutely no low end even though it has 2 "6.5" inch speakers.. its very disappointing.. and the website also does not give details of frequency response which is very misleading. :(
