    For busking, for portability, the added features make this something of a game-changer. When you consider that two floor pedals and the accompanying cables/batteries (harmonizer and looper) are now gone, it is tough to not put this on the list of busker-must haves. Good review.

    Hoping for the street 2 EX version. I have the gen 1 street ex, it’s a great PA/mixer, just ok guitar amp, hope to see katana tones instead of cosm. I use external floor modelers but it would be nice to have a more up to date katana ecosystem. Great video.

    Just a shame that the Roland cover that they say is for the street too, as Boss has taken over is expensive for what it is just a vinyl bag that doesn’t have much padding in it. Retails £55 plus postage and packing is it really worth it. I think a better case a lightweight protective case could be made for this.

    Is it possible to apply the built-in effects separately to each loop going on? Or do the effects just apply to the master output?

    • @localopenmicpodcast
      @localopenmicpodcast 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A looper will record the audio being played, so whatever effect you are using at the time will be captured. You can choose another effects and it won't change what you've recorded to the looper.

    • @localopenmicpodcast
      @localopenmicpodcast 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@USAJ31 I don't own this amp so I'm guesting here, internally the looper is autonomous, I imagine you can record effects (or not) to the part you are looping as you are doing it. Then, when you are letting the looper play what you've recorded, I bet you can use effects on your vocals separately. You may be able to play the looped part and have effects applied to any 'live' guitar work you are doing without it changing what you've recorded on the looper. Again, I don't own this, Boss seems to have thought this through though.

    One of the best reviews of this yet , the harmoniser is cool . I foresee one in my future , I will use it portable with electric most probably ,maybe with my boss GT1 sometimes . People selling their original cube streets are going to have to be more sensible with their 2nd hand prices now, with what this new one gives you for £299 -£329 it’s not worth paying more than £150 for a 2nd hand old one .
    The harmoniser is quite good , will actually make it possible to sing along with more songs . Great idea to have it work as a usb interface too
    Agree the Bluetooth dongle should be included though . There’s nothing it can’t do .
    Well done on this review

    Do you know if the Bluetooth function will allow you to pair it with a second Cube Street 2? We're looking for budget options for mobile PA systems for theatre, but we'd need at least 2. The Ex seems able to do this via a jack, but the distance we'd have the speakers away an XLR would be better. If Bluetooth let you do that, it'd be a game changer and we wouldn't have to worry about wires.

    Anyone got one of these yet. What were your thoughts? For both Electric and acoustic guitars tones?
    Have they improved the tone from the original street?

      I have one and I love the harmonies I play both my acoustic and my PRS through it

      Don't know if it's just the one I tried at the music store, but it's not an improvement over the Original Roland Street Cube. This new model sounds thin and tinny. It's an over priced toy IMO. Will stick with my older, reliable Roland Street Cube.

    hi ben is there any way you can add an external looper to the boss cube 2 to get the full effect of the looper without the amp having an effects loop. I would appreciate any advice you could give me, as far as i am aware the amp does not have an effects loop.

    If I have to carry a laptop to gain full access to the amp's capability, then I'm not at all interested in this device.
    No thanks!
    I want to play music, not program the thing.

    Tried this new Boss Street Cube 2 recently . No comparison to the ORIGINAL ROLAND STREET CUBE which is great for busking and small/medium venues and cost less @ $299. Was not impressed with is new Cube 2 . Sounds thin and tinny. It's an overpriced toy IMO.

    There is absolutely no low end.. its very disappointing.. and the website also does not give details of frequency response which is very misleading. :(
