The Admiral and I were almost tempted to take you up on that offer! Perhaps we run into you when you return to the States. We’re planning on heading to east coast in mid June.
I caught that Captain swapped the pump impeller and housing as well. But the problem is the motor. The motor has a spot where it stops and can’t restart itself. It might be a capacitor that is failing. Or it could be a bad spot on a coil. When the motor can’t start itself moving in either of those two cases, the electrons used to power it will convert to heat. This could be really bad on a boat and cause a fire. It is an expensive pump, but a fire would be a disaster and swapping out a pump is relatively inexpensive for the piece of mind.
The motor always starts right up. t is only when we leave the boat for months at a time that it has an issue. We never leave the boat with the Air Conditioning pump on.

Hi guys. Zoe and Gary are moving onto our 43 silverton for the summer, than closing on our villa in Punta Cana. Heck is out and see if you would like us to join you. We have a little channel we have been building, but have gotten a little side tracked. Love to get back and hit a home run with good peeps.
Hi. Thanks for reaching out. We just posted our schedule on Facebook and Patreon. As you can imagine, we have received quite a few requests to join us in the Bahamas. We wish we could take everyone! Our viewers know just about everything there is to know about us, but we know little about you. So we are asking those interested in joining, to let us know some things about you. Previous crewmembers have sent us a video, and/or a Facebook link. Also, let us know which leg of the trip you are interested in. These are very helpful. Cheers! Ed and Lyn
You sound like me, every time we go home to visit my folks in my hometown in California, I leave or drop my military wallet somewhere, done it twice in four to five year period...I am horrible with wallets....Luckily this last time while in Utah on our way home to Wyoming, someone found it and didn't steal it. We drove all the way back to Utah from 5 hrs near our home, to go back and get it. Crazy funny I guess.
I took notice of your Salty Pelican shirt and thought I’d reach out to you guys. We live on Amelia Island and have been talking about cruising the ICW of Florida. Ed have you considered installing one of the newer split unit air conditioning systems that are designed for homes but may work on a boat such as yours? I am guessing your fly bridge is big enough to find an out of the way spot to put the outside part of the system and your boat has enough inside wall space to locate a place to install the inside part of the system. I’ve never been a fan of running a water cooled AC unit on a boat for long periods of time while being away from the boat. I would be very interested to see if the system worked adequately on your boat and what your thoughts are on the system.
One day, we'd love to crew with you. My wife and I are four years from retirement and have the dream of living aboard our own boat. Finding the weather window to cross was difficult and even the day we came across was pretty rough, but at least 7-10 days until another chance.
