I still remember the first time a friend screwed me over for money. It wasn't a lot--half a phone bill--but it hurt. There's nothing worse than having to chase down someone to pay you back YOUR money.
I stopped feeling bad pretty quickly tho: for the price of half a phone bill, I learned my 'friend' was actually a user & a taker & not worth my effort. Money can show you who someone is.
More importantly, I started learning how to say no--maybe the most important financial lesson you can learn. I don't loan money now. Period. I've given money to people I care about--modest amounts that I won't miss or regret.

There are a lot of people that are so ungrateful, you can’t believe you are related. Never, ever loan a family member or friend money. What you do is give them a one time gift with no additional monetary gifts of that size moving forward. You’ll save your relationships if you abide by that rule.

I feel like the flea market thing was a loan too. they had different opinions on how much of it was a loan and how much an investment - but the contract that the defendant HERSELF made had part of it as a loan. (unfortunately they don't have a signed contract between them).
I'm also VERY suspicious that the venture never seemed to make money. It sounds more like the multiple people who had put money into it got in a disagreement over something personal (or maybe money/reimbursement related?) and started to back out - and then the defendant was left paying them all out until she was left with not enough to continue on her own). it sounds like the plaintiff is just too nice and didn't ask for profit sharing along the way like the others did. and then got stung for her niceness.
the defendant rolls through life saying things like she'll pay you when she has it. and then she just doesn't. I wonder how many of her relatives and friends have 'loaned' her money. I wouldn't be surprised if she has a reputation amongst her family and friends for doing this.
with friends and family always be prepared for a loan to turn into a gift. yeah you trust the person, but even if the other person fully intended on paying it back - stuff can happen and situations can change.
I wonder if the defendant ever actually has a job that she has to work at (like a job where she works for someone else, where she punches in and out and reports to someone) and actually understands how many hours of work she TOOK from her cousin.

Nah f#%k that cousin. I hope this message gets to those that think “blood is thicker than water”
I’m here to tell you IT’S NOT! Blood (family) are just like ANYBODY else and sometimes it’s blood that treat their own just as bad (if not worse at times) than as a stranger.
I’ve been at times treated better by some strangers I’ve met than my own blood.
FACTS. People are people and everything has variables that affect the outcome. Be on your toes and be smart about who you’re dealing with whether it be family, friends or strangers. Go by their consistent actions but leave room that even that can change over time.

Wether the defendant has money or not, the court will make you pull money from anywhere and demand payment if something is owed to the government. So even if defendant has to get a loan to pay the money, she must pay the bill within a certain timeframe.

Whoever said blood is thicker than water needs to take several seats, family in some cases are WORST than your friends & you really can't put to much trust in them either!😊

The defendant has baby-girl syndrome and is used to being handed money, gifted meals, & whatever else she can get from her family since she's the "starving artist" and is always broke.

Maybe that defendant should get a job instead of trying these get rich schemes that cost others.

Its not about the amount of money its about the amount of times she has helped her and it piled up and she felt used and unappreciated. Sometimes folks will deal with you for what they can get out of you. It wasn't a good relationship it was a greedy one sided mad when you cut them off type of relationship that shouldn't be rekindled at the same level but with boundaries and no wallets involved.

It's amazing how TH-cam sends me notifications on the things I deal with. The taker doesn't know how to be genuinely greatful. It's just not in them. But the root of the problem is the "love" of the money. Shame on you money...
    Love TH-cam ❤

The defendant is so self absorbed and sadly the plaintiff is a soft touch and codependent. The defendant will never learn, she just keeps doubling down and says whatever she thinks the other person wants to hear. The judge shouldn’t have forced them to hug, she wasn’t reading how hurtful it was for the plaintiff

Cousin should pay all the money. I don’t like loaning money for this reason, I have In the pass and they get upset when so much time has passed and you ask for it back. Geez

I'm just glad when I have money to pay my own bills. I don't have money to loan and if I did I wouldn't do it. It's a formula for disaster. These two deserve each other. I've only laid eyes and ears on the defendant for a few minutes and she is on my last nerve. Calling herself a struggling artist. I call her a scam artist.

Lady in red do NOT invest any more than words in your cousin's dreams.
Givers must establish limits because TAKERS don't have ANY!.
These folks with one grandiose idea after another bounce about
too often fueled by someone else's money and energy.
It can be ultimately exhaustive, destroying others in their family and friend circles.

Let this be a lesson to everyone.
Never, ever, lend family or close friends any money, because some, if not, most will have different priorities on paying back a loan.
Some people will not sacrifice their entertainment, dining out, or spontaneous spending budget to pay back a loan.
Meaning, you will need to wait until a windfall of money comes to their favor to cover their needs and wants and if there's enough money left over to cover the whole loan, then maybe you will get your money back. However, if the amount left over from the windfall only has enough to pay 90% of the loan, then most likely you will not get the money. Most people's thinking is, if there isn't enough to pay the whole loan then why not use that money for something else, like an extra night out or a quick shopping spree.
