Would love to see a 98inch shootout. Q80c, this Sony, qm8 and Hisense 98inch for 2023. I have a c2 83 inch, my next tv will 100% be a 98 inch qled. Although I’m hesitant and have reservations to go from OLED to a qled

One thing you failed to mention is how long each TV will last before any processing failures. My experience has been that Sony TVs and DVD players last MUCH longer than many other brands. I bought a Hisense TV not long ago and it only lasted 2 years. My current Sony is going on 3 years and has had zero problems. Something to think about in addition to price points.

These anecdotes are of rather dubious value. If you had 30 copies of two different models for a total of 60 TVs to compare you are starting to get to a point where, if there are significant differences, they are likely to show up... In practice, we'd need hard data.
But one would think it wouldn't be technically that hard to establish such data. If regulators actually wanted, you know, an efficient market. For some strange reason they hardly ever seem to think of such things, and we are left having to guess.
I bought a Sony last time around, replacing a Samsung from 2010, but only because by 2022 I tired of waiting for the TV to fail and wanted more bigger better, and I came across what seemed to be a really good sale on a Sony 85". It remains to be seen how long it lasts, but I am very happy with it so far despite some flaws.

Sony easily wins this battle! You have to pay for what you get even at double the price. If you have the money the Sony is a no brainer. The difference is very clear. Just wait for this $10,000 Sony to go down in price to $8,000 during Black Friday or even next year around March or April when Sony closes out this model. Note: The cheap 98" TVs I've seen don't look very good when watching regular TV content and sports. If you want a great 98" TV you really should get a Sony because of the much more clearer and better picture!

I'd probably have to completely rearrange my living room setup to use a TV that big, the mount I have now wouldn't do the weight or vesa spacing. We also have 24" inch on center wall studs. I have the original mini led TCL here and a Z9K. I still like my TCL in my bedroom now, the Sony is in the living room.
Of course the Sony is way better but the TCL was like 3 times cheaper and about 90 percent as good as the Sony.
You pays yer money and takes yer chances but considering how similar they look I'd buy the TCL. The Z9K is on a whole other level picture and price wise so you either want the benefits it offers and can afford it or you get a TCL, save a bunch of money, and be happy.

Very good review. But like many of these reviews of the TCL 754, they don't mention the very strong glare and Reflections coming off the screen of the TCL 754. The off angle viewing of the TCL is very poor. If you sit to the right or the left you lose brightness contrast and the picture looks washed out. Tcl's video processing is mediocre at best. If all you're going to do is watch 4K material the TCL will be fine. However if you're going to be watching cable,,SDR, streaming and other signals that need video processing upscaling you will be disappointed. It's unfortunate that these reviews do not include a comparison of the two TVs ability to upscale lower-resolution video signals.

I would also like to see a review of the Hisense UX85 that tv looks amazing. I saw it at CES it looked like one of the best tvs at the show and of course 110 inch did as well but they are not going to release it here in the US

The UX 85 will be a beast of a TV...The HiSense U8K is the best 55 inch tv on the market right now price to performance...It was even tested against the LG C3 OLED and the only thing the LG did little better in was overall contrast and better fine details due to the contrast...For 1/2 the price the U8K calibrated is a game changer in 2023...
