I'm glad you react to Il Divo - for me one of the best formations in the world of music with tons of awesome songs. They are two tenors - one from US, one from Switzerland, a popsinger from France and a baritone from Spain (who sadly passed 2021). They are really unique and thank you for your reaction. 🌟
To your question: I think, each interpretation is different, no one is "better" than another, but each of us prefers a different style with more or less emotion, so it is more a thing of personal preference. But that's just my opinion. 😉
Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and gave his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music compositions, mostly operatic, and different lyrics (Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance). But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in italian then co-wrote the english lyrics for it and is the original performer of these 2 versions. She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration. This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash (Lara is his absolute idol and he covered several of her songs), Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Julie Anne San Jose, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, Il Divo, Rimar, Vitas, Anastasia Luna, Evgenia Fanfara, , … They made great covers but none of these match the amazing storytelling performance of Lara, or her ability to use vocal subtleties to be in sync with the music, exposed in her live from the concert From Lara with Love. th-cam.com/video/bqoS-KOLV_4/w-d-xo.html Her italian version is also amazing. A famous italian version: th-cam.com/video/qf7xcMN-TYI/w-d-xo.html Or you can check her recent excellent rendition in Paris early october 2022 th-cam.com/video/BulgxI-8zj4/w-d-xo.html
Hi Maria, Thanks for reacting to this amazing group IL Divo. I have to say, for me personally, I like all three versions of the song. It's not important to me to compare them, it's cool if your viewers want to. I had this song picked out from this group to give you, before I knew you had done the other two versions, so I went ahead and decided to submit it to you anyway. Here's some info on IL Divo: IL Divo are a multi- national Classical crossover group. The Male Quartet, which originated in The United Kingdom in December 2003, consists of Tenors, Urs Buhler, David Miller, Baritones, Carlos Marin, and Sebastien Izambard. The Baritone Carlos Marin passed away from COVID-19 in December 19, 2021, R.I. P. Carlos Marin. In August 2023 Carlos was replaced by Baritone Steven LaBrie. Steven LaBrie joined the band as a special guest on tour, before being announced as a full-time member of the group on August 17, 2023. IL Divo was created and promoted by Simon Cowell for the label Syco Music (a subsidiary of Sony Music). As of 2021, the group has released ten Studio Albums. Genres: Classical Crossover, Operatic, Pop, Folk, Bolero, Mambo, and Tango. Great reaction Maria! More IL Divo to come! God Bless You, and Your Family and Your Beautiful Kitty's, Peace & Love, Tom from Indiana
Thank you, Tom, for bringing them to Maria's attention. 👍 They have a beautiful repertoire and awesome voices - and a wonderful version of "The Impossible Dream" live in Barcelona (from the musical The man from La Mancha - Don Quijote). You know it for sure. Best wishes and Greetings from Vienna. 🎶
@@karinkrenn Thank You so much, I have been following IL Divo for years, and I think they're Amazing!!!! The next song I have for Maria is Si Tu Me Amas (Live in London), I think she will enjoy it too! So Good!!!!!! God Bless, Peace & Love, Tom from Indiana USA
@@thomashaines4379 She surely will enjoy it though it's hard to choose a song, I think 😆. There are so many good songs. Si voy a perderte, Feelings, The man you love, Every time I look at you ...... etc.. Blessings for you and all your beloved ones from Vienna, Austria in the ❤️ of Europe. 🕊️
How could she say that there was no emotion in this version of the song?!? Sounds like she was biased in favor of Lara Fabian. None of the versions are better, they are just different.
This is defiantly the best version ever, hands down,
Es en Mérida (España) ese concierto
Carlos was the best, forever missed, never forgotten 💔💔💔
