Yes, one of the reasons is that.
Is the bike stock or did you do modification to the engine or electronics ?
I think it's stock. But I buy it used like this. But im rebuilding the engine and it will be with a bigger piston.
@@vilelapovs so you boring out the engine on the one you rebuilding?
I can hear there is a big difference in performance between the 2017 I have and the 2023 you have. Great video man thanks.
@@rossmilespickersgill502 Its normal to have diferences in the performance, the electronics in the bike are enhanced. And yeah basically the engine blow up, and the part that pushes the piston down and up broke, so now the engine its all dismounted in parts so why not tune it 😅

I think the KTM is from 2019. I bought it used so I have no warranty. The costs will all be my responsibility.

what's the exhaust ?
It's a Snell. It's like a SC Project imitation.
Everyone should check their timing chain tensioner. It gets weak over time and changes the timming😢. A misfire can wreck the engine real fast!
The chain tensioner was ok. The problem was inside the engine.
I'm thinking of buying Voge 125R brand new for 3200 euros, but have as option also used ktm duke 125 2022 with 7000 miles on it for the same price. I can't decide which one to buy.. What will you go for?
I would buy the KTM because I think it has better material and because if you want to sell it you won't lose a lot of money. For example, if you buy the new Vogue for 3200 when you want to sell it, you will sell it for 1500 or close to it. Ktm if you buy for 3200, you will sell it for 2800. But that's my opinion, you have to see what you think is the best option.
@@vilelapovs yeah, im thinking of ktm too.. But, Im scared for this to not happen.. My friend will sell it to me so I already know that he is agressive rider, i dont want my engine blow up after I buy it

Can u tell me what exactly blew up? The transmission or what?
The piston broke and when it broke it went against the engine walls and broke the walls too! Basically it will take almost new engine!
how did it cost to fix it
I will fix it myself so it will be cheap. In a mechanic maybe the engine rebuild cost could be like 1000€ to 2000€ 😅
Insane wheelie popup 😮😅
Thanks 😁
hahahaa lol I had the same exact problem with my RC390 recently, connecting rod broke and smashed the engine case, piston and cylinder were damaged as well, luckily I had one lying around from a project I was working some time ago, just had to replace crankshaft and the complete engine case, luckily for me the transmission and head were ok, but yeah it was basically a whole new engine, if I weren't to have the extra piston and cyl or/and the transmission broke I wouldn't repair it but I was lucky that time, ride safe!!!

Hopefully it won't be that expensive
I have a question about wheelies I heard that the motor in the wheelie is not properly lubricated is it true do you know if that also applies to the Duke?
Honestly I don't know if it's just a theory or not but it makes sense that it's not well lubricated because the engine was made to be in the normal position but I think that the brands already have in mind that many will be doing stunts so I don't think so bad. The only thing that doing stunts ruins is the clutch because the engine if it is in good condition and with revisions and oil up to date it won't ruin it by doing stunts!
Yes it´s true and it applies to almost any bike. That´s why special made stunting bikes like all those KTM Exc sumos have aftermarket oil pumps to prevent the oil from pooling up at the bottom where the piston can´t reach in wheelie position.
