This song actually makes me really emotional. But I am from the same region as the band. My native town was one of the first ones where the military actions started. When the war started I was already living in Canada for a couple of years and just had my first child. But my entire family was still living there (parents, grannies, aunts, unless, cousins..). It was killing me. To wake up in the middle of the night to check on news, was there another bombing today or not. First thing in the morning: to call everyone I know "Are you OK (which actually was more like is everyone alive). I can't tell you how many tears I cried at the time. Also at age 24 I got half of my head of gray hair.. There's no enemy I would ever wish to hear sounds of explosions and sirens going on while you're calling your loved ones. And I was not even there at the time.. My child was not there.. And I have so many friends who want through this while being pregnant and having their babies.. Who lost their loved ones in that war.. Also we were lucky and our native town is not occupied anymore. My parents've been war refugees for two years, but eventually could go back to their home. Millions of people there probably lost their homes forever. Guys from Jinjer included.. The moment where Tati is drinking morning tea is about people being trapped in the middle of the conflict getting used to the situation.. Almost normalizing everything that's going on. I heard multiple times from my friends somethings like: "Do you hear a bullet fling?? Is it towards us?" - “no, it's from our side. " -" OK"... Because when you hear a sound of flying rockets, bullets, explosions for the first time in life it scares sh**t out of you. But when you hear it regularly for months that's your new "normal" from now on.. Ofcourse it's not normally, but your brain shutting you out sometimes not to go crazy. My mom ended up with PTSD afterwards.. She was afraid of fireworks, airplanes, was stuttering for a while.. Now she is much better, but I doubt something like this can be ever forgotten completely.. My heart goes to all people ever suffered in war. A couple of months ago my husband native country (Armenia) was also almost devastated in war.. This also brought a lot of sadness and tears. System Of a Down (they all have Armenian back ground) got together after 15 years of break up and released two songs in support of people of Armenia. Maybe you would like to react to those as well: Protect the Land and Genocidal Humanoids. I wish this legendary band had another reason to get together, but they songs came out great..
As soon as I heard you say you wanted something to make you feel happy and pumped up, I said “Oh no” out loud. But I’m glad you experienced it anyway. I was just wondering yesterday if you’d get to this one. It’s definitely my favorite Jinjer video. It really brings the song to life.
I know it made you sad, but this is probably the only reaction I've seen of this song that actually realized how sad this song actually is. Tatiana said in an interview that that is what she wants. People to understand her lyrics.
I'm a 46 year old dude and it makes me tear up. This is their heaviest song and most personal song. This is their lives. They have and continue to overcome so much. They can't back home so they want their home back. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Keep being you. You get it!
Thank you. I fell like I have to thank you, for being so sensitive about what's going on in this song. I've seen dozens of reaction videos, but they mostly seem to miss the point. The growling... that's deep pain! It's a cry! I can't hear "this house is not a shelter anymore" without tears in my eyes every single time! "Don't you leave us homeless" tears me apart. Anyway... thank you. You're special. A warm hug from Brasil
The entire purpose of this song and video is to deliver Jinjer's vital message of the lyrics. People the world over, listen: we've got to do better. Kick out and reject tyrannical, corrupt, greedy leaders that bring poverty and war to the people while building their own bank accounts. We can make the world peaceful and prosperous starting with or own country. Vote 'em out NOW and put in true leaders with integrity and ideas that build, not destroy to enrich themselves! If you don't have any, become one yourself and run for office!
Wow. Three years later and I'm the only one to like this comment. That's sad. Your sentiment is every bit as relevant now as it was back then--or more so. It's coming to a head, people. Time to stand up for peace and democracy.
@@ericpeterson7512 Thanks, Eric. I'm really worried that there are becoming three types of people in the world. In simplistic terms: Radical right, radical left, and the apathetic people... the apathetics, I call them -- frozen in fear and laziness. In all three cases, none of these "types" know how to do critical thinking or to find the truth, even in what's around them at their own kitchen tables. I know social media is a big culprit in swaying belief (especially with the angry right). Bt that shouldn't be an excuse. I'm becoming very pessimistic. Look at Germany and America.. and of course, Russia. I'm trying to find hope, Eric. But it's fading like the Northern Lights.
@@TomClark-Futoura I see hopeful signs that there are more out there like you and me. People who aren't too far radically one way or the other that they can't have an open mind and see reason. I mean, I've known for a while how I'M voting. But I'm staying open and engaged, not hiding my head in the sand. I'm keeping a sharp eye on world events. And I'm seeing signs that some on the "other side" are doing the same. Yes, there are sides, and the difference between them has rarely been more stark. And evidence is mounting that Russia is not our friend. Pootin is not our ally. Ukraine is not attacking anyone, they're defending themselves. And if Ukraine falls, all of Europe must fear being next. Georgia is already under attack. But here's another hopeful sign. Online communities are quite active in aiding Ukraine. Jake Broe just helped raise well over a million dollars to buy trucks and drones for Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines. Artur Rehi and Anna From Ukraine are doing similar things. There are plenty of people out there who still believe in standing up for democracy. All but the farthest right should believe in supporting Ukraine.
@@ericpeterson7512 Thanks, Eric, for that ray of light. This coming election in the States is going to tell me rather my country -- and world, for that matter - is capable of any sanity. If the republicans win with Trump, there goes aid to Ukraine, support for NATO, and many other foreign policies that support democracy. There goes common sense, truth, decency and security in the United States not to mention the heart and soul our country was founded on -- the rights, freedoms and liberty of every person no matter where you come from, no matter what you look like, and no matter your religion (or lack thereof), sexual orientation, or gender. And there goes a host of policies that protect the environment, animals, and our very kids and citizens at schools and everyday life due to open (no) gun regulation. And that's just a few of the vital issues we'll see torn apart by the takeover of radical, paranoid and racist thinking and beliefs! So... well see this November 5th.
@@TomClark-Futoura I'm completely with you man. And I'm hearing a lot of that kind of sentiment from Republicans and even former Trump voters. Most reasonable people have a line they won't cross. Trump keeps doing and saying things that are a bridge too far. Whether it be lying about reading the Bible (he cannot name a verse) or disrespecting military and law enforcement (calling US soldiers who died in World War 2 "suckers" and "losers") or siding with dictators, or bragging about his overreach with SCOTUS in undoing Roe v. Wade, or demanding unlimited immunity. If you're innocent, why do you need to be immune? Just curious. I'm seeing more and more people falling out of the orange basket. And look how the electoral trends are going. The midterms and off-season elections have gone solidly against MAGA. We just need to punish them electorally, a few times in a row. That's the way to drive a stake through the heart of the fascist MAGA movement. Help them see it's a losing bet!
This song has caught me in the feels more times than I'd like to admit. But the syncopation the boys pull off in this is just on the verge of broken and is so good. Tati is just doing her regular growls then she softens it up with some jazz vocals right before she blasts you with oh by the way did you forget who I am with bottom basement growls.
Great reaction to an amazing song, with a powerful, heart felt message. And no worries, I have seen this video many times, and it never fails to tug at my heart strings.
Hey, you! I remember how apologetic you were in your second Jinjer reaction (Teacher) about the term “screamo”, and here you’re doing it again. Don’t be so hard on yourself and obsess over this. It’s NBD. I’ve watched every one of your Jinjer reactions, some more than once. You always pay close attention to what’s happening, and you get deeply invested. That’s what makes your reactions fun to watch. Also, you change up your look in every video - and all of them are good. You go girl!
Not many beautiful women can sing as sweetly as Tatiana. Great song. I did make we feel emotional. But the emotion was anger, wishing I could take all of the War Pigs world-wide and put then of a BBQ Spit.
Hits me in the Feels every time...Big Love, Great reaction as always...For some Happy ethereal feels Try Aurora, " Runaway" official video....All Hail Queen Tati!!!
Yes thank you for mentioning their backstory which is important to understanding this video, Ukraine has gone through Hell. And you are beautiful as ever, keep up the reaction videos thanks😀👍
I love your reactions, thank you! I've already been to a Jinjer show and it's just as amazing as the studio or shows seen on youtube. I liked it so much that I'm going to the next show of this band here in Brazil. Bye ^_^
Great one, so glad you cameback to Jinjer! One detail that is very powerfull and real: at 3:55 when she sings "Is it an angel watching over us? It's an air-fighter making a fuss." , that image really is a thing: th-cam.com/video/aOx_wHhitqk/w-d-xo.html Most of us (fortunately) cannot relate but they know cause they lived it. If you want a more upbeat theme from them try the amazing "Retrospection" official, a great banger about their roots, you´ll love it! Sayonara!
It's Jinjer time and I will always be here for that. This album is almost done pausing death is the last song on the album with no video so can't wait for that. Most of us don't judge we politely teach. And it's a bassa nova break down a form of jazz . Pretty awesome song this is. If you don't feel anything you're dead inside.
I'm sorry, I actually started laughing when you said you wanted to see something that would cheer you up and thought "Ooh nooo"...but then at the end when you teared up I teared up too. The visuals in this video are so artistic and brutal at the same time. The soldiers in the red background are horrifying. But such a good song.
Want something uplifting that'll put a smile on your face? Leo Moracchioli's metal covers will do that. He takes crappy (and not-so crappy) pop songs and turns them into metal. He plays all the instruments & does the vocals too. He's a ridiculously talented human being & has a lot of fun doing his videos.
Not the best thing to make one happy. The flip side of this is "Retrospection". It's more upbeat. I would suggest the official version. Read the lyrics, too.
Before the video was released, I was familiar with the song and the lyrics had a profound effect on me. I'm not afraid to say though, the first time I saw the video, a tear came to my eye. From a band who has a number of fantastic videos, this is my favorite. I see Van Lepthien suggested the "Retrospection" official video, for a more upbeat song, and I wholeheartedly agree. It's basically a 'thank you' to the band member's parents and the official video has some great 'old' pictures and behind the scenes clips.
Yeah, lots of people saying it already. Not the best Jinjer track if you’re looking for a good mood. This song gutted me a year before there was even a video for it, and just watching the way Tatiana performs it in the video makes it hit even harder. I’ve spent some time in that part of the world and truly hope they find some lasting peace and stability.
If you need something fun to cheer you up... try one hand killing by Twelve Foot Ninja (big genre bending band, close friends with Jinjer, tired with them) or hypa hypa by eskimo callboy (80s nostalgia and goofy fun)
"I need something exciting that makes me happy" - 'starts Jinjer's very personal anti-war song, basically the equivalent of Zombie by the Cranberries' :| It's a hard song, but it hits me more with anger, rather than sadness. But it's also freakishly groovy. And honest mistakes can be made Ashley. Speaking of honesty, you have some very honest reactions too, which is certainly not the norm on TH-cam, but what I really appreciate about you and this channel. I got into reactions through Jinjer, before that I was appalled by all the fake over the top YT personas, so it is always refreshing to see some good and honest ones out there. As far as the bands background goes, they basically fled when the war started, leaving their families behind in order to continue to make music. They eventually found residency in Kiev, but were basically constantly on tour ever since, just to make ends meet, calling themselves tour refugees. Covid was basically their longest break from touring, and if it weren't for the re-recording of Pisces going viral, giving them so much needed (and deserved) exposure, they'd be in a much tougher spot right now. I highly recommend the official lyric video of No Hoard Of Value too. It's about the coal mining industry in their home region, which is basically the biggest coal mining industry in the world, and one of the most hazardous working environments in the world too, due to very deep mines, outdated equipment and lack of safety standards. Jinjer grew up poor, and went through a lot, so it's really appreciated that they do such meaningful songs.
Owwww ... when you mentioned you need something less emotional I just thought "welll ... damn ... then don't listen now!" :O I guess as Jinjer really points out to topics that have to be heared and often have some layers of meanings in their lyrics, it may be not the first pont to start for flowery-happy-vibes xD Some recommended the official "Retrospection" - I can add to it - it's a great sound great song great meaning and just like many more leaving some emotions in my brains. Even more with the official-lyric of "No hoard of value" - that one has a direct and an indirect deep meaning that really gets me! ... We love Jinjer for that!!! xD
Hey it's nice to see you back on this bandwagon. Thinking that you would Love the official video for retrospection 2020 was for me a great year for metal.Jinjer got me back into metal and tops a list of probably two dozen really good discoveries for me. having said all that, the only band that I'm listening to as much as Jinjer is Tallah No one should read this Overconfidence LED There is quite a number of reaction channels that named them the breakout metal band of the year and several of them gave Tallah the metal album of the year They are chaotic and aggressive, and yet bouncy and fun. The most notable thing about them is their vocalist, who does about a dozen different things with his voice. Would love to see you check them out
Powerful message. I found four videos that would make great reactions and also be perfect for your spooky channel. First The Tenors and Lindsey Sterling "Who Wants To Live Forever". Second Lindsey Sterling "Phantom Of The Opera Medley", it's instrumental, but you'll love it. Third Diana Ankudinova "Wicked Game". And Diana Ankudinova "Rechenka".
You probably already know but Geoff is at it again, this time covering Tennessee Earnie Ford's "Sixteen Tons", definitely needs a reaction video. Hope you get to do one for it soon, have a blessed day.
You: I need something to feel excited and to make me feel HAPPY ! Me: You're too optimistic young lady, but i like it!! (Great reaction as always, Deadgrl !!)
It's ok if you called it screamo you were learning a newbe now you know that it's growling. Everyone learns something everyday not knowing it . You will learn stuff till the day you die thats a fact of life . And she does have one song she doesn't growl in at least I didn't hear any it's King of everything.
It's good that you appreciate a little back story. Do you sympathize what the back story is about? Their families are still there living in a war zone. But hey lets talk about your shirt and how bad you feel about the Oscars are virtual......smdh Edit: Ok you said some very kind words at the end of the video. Perhaps I commented to soon..... I left my original comment above. I could have just deleted it but I can own my mistakes.
The saddest thing about this is that it was written in reference to the Maidan Revolution of 2014. And the fact that is still so relevant, if not more relevant today, puts into perspective how long this suffering has been endured.
I'm sorry but a correction is needed. Their home town wasn't caught by "war WITH eastern Ukraine". It's East of Ukraine being cought by war with russia.

Greeting to you, charmante Demoiselle ;) My today's suggestion is a brand new song entitled "We Died In 2012", from the French Canadian band named So-Fi: th-cam.com/video/rFwZcGmzNY0/w-d-xo.html

I've been witness (in person) to the f'k up shit that's going on over there 💔
Defiantly emotional. With all the things occurring in their country
No doubt, it's a heavy song, lyrically. If you open up to it emotionally, it's heart-wrenching.
exactly.

Yeah she held up pretty good considering
Something to get happy ... that didn't work as intended but Ashley took it well, she is a strong woman.
Same. Heard her say that and thought "NO! These are soldiers, marching to their deeeaaatthhhh!"
Literally did the same thing
This hits different today 😥

Thanks for this. I absolutely love this song. Cheers girl
🤘😎
This is honestly their most powerful song in my opinion. It can leave you feeling very emotional.
Also respect to the team who created this video. It goes deep.
I have been in 2 active war zones, this song is so emotional, my heart goes out to all those caught up in the hostility’s in eastern Ukraine.
This is by far the best reaction to this song
It has a strong message for sure
From 1 Southwestern Ontarioan to another...the world needs more people with compassion like you. U remind me of my wife. Take care
I love that you wear your heart on your sleeve.. makes for a truly heartfelt reaction ❤
What a funny smart cutie you are! Thanks for the reaction.
Hello from Ukraine,
Jinjer is doing it right. Very good political messages with very good music
This song is boss! My fav song off the album before the video, and the video cemented it! This band is genuine for sure!
Apple needs to invent "hug-o-vision" and soon. We can all chip in for her next birthday. ;-)
Emotional every time
This song is good for a soundtrack to any horror movie, you wish.
I've been WAITING FOR THIS ONE
Yes thank you for mentioning their backstory which is important to understanding this video, Ukraine has gone through Hell. And you are beautiful as ever, keep up the reaction videos thanks😀👍
I love your reactions, thank you!
I've already been to a Jinjer show and it's just as amazing as the studio or shows seen on youtube. I liked it so much that I'm going to the next show of this band here in Brazil.
Bye ^_^
AWESOME REACTION!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Remember music comes before lyrics, in most of their releases
Great one, so glad you cameback to Jinjer! One detail that is very powerfull and real: at 3:55 when she sings "Is it an angel watching over us? It's an air-fighter making a fuss." , that image really is a thing: th-cam.com/video/aOx_wHhitqk/w-d-xo.html
Most of us (fortunately) cannot relate but they know cause they lived it.
If you’re feeling emotional, this isn’t the song to make you happy
I think you are the first (out of several dozen I've seen) reactor who actually got the message from the lyrics.
Good job!
100% agree. He even managed to make "Baby Shark" sound awesome. The dude can literally turn ANY song into metal and make it sound badass.
Great reaction!
Im seen so many reactions. Yours is by far the best. I have ukrainian heritage. Hope your well
Not the best thing to make one happy. The flip side of this is "Retrospection". It's more upbeat. I would suggest the official version. Read the lyrics, too.
The live in Melbourne is damn good too in case you wanted to double up
Yes, Retrospection is a blast!!
Ok, you've convinced me to listen to the song again before going to sleep...
my kids love retrospective, but my daughters favorite song is Teacher, Teacher...she just turned 8. She's such a badass. 🤘😈🤘
@@DB-xo6xh That's funny!
You should check out the folk group Heilung! Their name is German for healing. Their songs In Maidjan (live) or Norupo are good places to start
Love from Spain !
4:03 ... i'm crying. 😢😢😢
❤
Yeah, lots of people saying it already. Not the best Jinjer track if you’re looking for a good mood. This song gutted me a year before there was even a video for it, and just watching the way Tatiana performs it in the video makes it hit even harder. I’ve spent some time in that part of the world and truly hope they find some lasting peace and stability.
If you need something fun to cheer you up... try one hand killing by Twelve Foot Ninja (big genre bending band, close friends with Jinjer, tired with them) or hypa hypa by eskimo callboy (80s nostalgia and goofy fun)
Yay I'm third,absolutely amazing!,great to see you again!🤘🤘🤘🤘
"I need to listen to something to cheer me up, so we're gonna react to Jinjer's Home Back." Well...............shit.
💙❤
💛🌻
Lovebites "Edge of the world".
Actually it's not a war with eastern Ukraine. It's a war with Russia with controls just a some parts of eastern Ukraine
I am loving your hair! Been missing your Jinjer reactions. Would love to see you check out "Beggar's Dance" and "Bad Water (official live video)".
It irritates me when I see reactors smiling through a sad song like this.
Owwww ... when you mentioned you need something less emotional I just thought "welll ... damn ... then don't listen now!" :O I guess as Jinjer really points out to topics that have to be heared and often have some layers of meanings in their lyrics, it may be not the first pont to start for flowery-happy-vibes xD
Some recommended the official "Retrospection" - I can add to it - it's a great sound great song great meaning and just like many more leaving some emotions in my brains. Even more with the official-lyric of "No hoard of value" - that one has a direct and an indirect deep meaning that really gets me! ... We love Jinjer for that!!! xD
As an observation you look like someone who get really emotional!,
Been waiting for you to get around to this one.
Hey it's nice to see you back on this bandwagon. Thinking that you would Love the official video for retrospection
2020 was for me a great year for metal.Jinjer got me back into metal and tops a list of probably two dozen really good discoveries for me. having said all that, the only band that I'm listening to as much as Jinjer is
Tallah
No one should read this
Overconfidence
LED
There is quite a number of reaction channels that named them the breakout metal band of the year and several of them gave Tallah the metal album of the year
They are chaotic and aggressive, and yet bouncy and fun.
You want something to cheer you up, make you feel positive? Devin Townsend "Spirits Will Collide"
You probably already know but Geoff is at it again, this time covering Tennessee Earnie Ford's "Sixteen Tons", definitely needs a reaction video. Hope you get to do one for it soon, have a blessed day.
Love Jinjer love this song but it's not a happy song powerful emotional creative yes ❤👍👍

nice one, girl.! ♥
You and Tati look like twins to each other, I'm serious, you have almost identical faces, even facial expressions, smiles are similar 🤩
You: I need something to feel excited and to make me feel HAPPY !
Me: You're too optimistic young lady, but i like it!!
(Great reaction as always, Deadgrl !!)
You need to react to Legion of monsters from Disturbed.
For something lighthearted to cheer you up do Devin Townsend performing "Why" one one of his quarantine concerts. Or "Kingdom" live on EMGTV
Donna by Darko US would be awesome :D
And the fact that is still so relevant, if not more relevant today, puts into perspective how long this suffering has been endured.
right, and that's why jinjer resides in russia today. (they picked a side. not your bullshit)

The lyrics(coz original are sux) but the song and the video clip - beautiful
The memory of you is like gum in your hair,
And apparently, too deeply in the head stuck roots.
It's cold in hell, there is nothing to breathe in heaven,
The universe is gone, but I remember it for some reason.
I wish I had that device with the bright flash from the movie "Men in black."
I'd have turned the relay to maximum and wiped it clean.
He would be in a strange place, not understanding. Not knowing who I was.
Deprived of the need to muffle drugs phantom pain.
I would wander aimlessly through a city that had suddenly become a saving stranger,
Not feeling the clips hypochondrium. Free as released gin,
Who no longer needs to tear his hair, trying to implement
Unrealistic desires own inner voice.
I would write myself a note asking not to try to find out about the past,
In order to avoid possible risks would lie to himself in it godlessly.
If I met someone who would remind me of the forgotten -
I'd press the button again. It's so simple: "On." "Off."

Greeting to you, charmante Demoiselle ;) My today's suggestion is a brand new song entitled "We Died In 2012", from the French Canadian band named So-Fi: th-cam.com/video/rFwZcGmzNY0/w-d-xo.html
Your Xbox controller batteries are low
Same with me. When I want to feel happy I listen to the song about war where Russia killed 14000 Ukrainians.
Your Teeth look like mine. You have this one weird "Fang" that's above all the others. I thought I was alone with that.
omg I always get so excited to see people with teeth like mine! I always feel so insecure abt them!!
@@deadgrlsuperstar You are not alone. I know how you feel about it.
