A true fighter would NEVER step into the ring with no expectation of winning, wanting his opponent to take pity on him...all for the sake of getting another big pay check. How many of us that love the sport and remember Andersen as one of the greatest and most feared fighters of all time wanted to see this and a fight against Jake Paul as our last memory of him....smh.

There were a couple of times Adesanya could have followed through much worse on Silva after landing a blow but he didn't. It moves me to see the respect and mercy they showed towards each other.

It looks like two great fighters showing off their talents to each other, which makes sense when Adesanya is very much the spiritual successor of Silva.

Anderson in his prime and before his leg surgery, he would have torn Israel up. Especially, fighting from the clinch. Also, he was in far better shape back then with much faster reaction time and power

In his prime peak, I believe Anderson would have won this bout. The man quite literally had all the cheat codes to the game and fought as if he were in the Matrix. Absolutely unbelievable talent.

Not really no, Adesanya literally grew up studying prime Silva, *then* got into kickboxing and MMA. Not the other way around. Adesanya is quite literally the carbon copy of Silva in terms of skill and feint game, heck they both even started fighting as kickboxers.
Izzy is Silva 2.0. No disrespect here, only admiration.

God I can't help but smile this whole video. Listen how into it the crowd was. They know they were watching a masterclass by two elite strikers. So sad this couldn't have happened at the same age but I'm just glad it did. Silva getting those two boxing wins recently really helped dampen those last UFC losses when he was 44.

None of these guys are holding back. They respect each other. My cousin was a boxer. I wasn't going to pounce him I respected his boxing and slowly came in and moved with defense. I am not trained but was much heavier it was his idea to box but rushing someone and you can get knocked out.
That and he is fighting Anderson Silva. Just cause Silva isn't at the top during this doesn't mean he doesn't have it anymore.

In real time, many said this was lackluster - we're already starting to look back and see what a classical UFC masterpiece it was. "oohs" and "aahs" all over the place. Look at the crowd and the huge smiles on their faces.

Anderson Silva is definitely past his prime and you can tell he's aged and gained weight, the young guy is just too quick, strong, and resilient.
I love how Izzy gave the fans what they wanted though. He went in there and let him show off his skills and they traded back and forth. Felt like an exhibition almost. Felt like he was shipping him off with a good farewell. Then you have douche bags like Uriah Hall who try as hard as they can to knockout old men but are still barely able to.

1:46 is the reason Izzy is my favorite fighter, he’s competing with his idol and acknowledges that his body isn’t up to par and just wants to prove to himself he’s on his level if not higher and doesn’t care about a finish
never seen two fighters with this much charisma. They both posses a very similar style of fighting, relaxed and having a fun with the fight. This fight was a true entertainment. Respect for both fighters.

You can tell Izzy didn't fight at 100% in this fight. He treated it more like a sparring match because he respects Anderson so much. There were many times where didn't push for a finish because he didn't have the killer instinct switched on in this fight, I respect that 🤷🏻♂️
he was also scared of rushing in and getting countered. Andy was 43 here so nothing to be ashamed about and furthermore I think in his prime he catches Izzy 9/10 times

Became a UFC champ within 1 and half years. 21-1 in ufc. Undefeated in Middleweight, 5 tittle fight already. Sold out ufc biggest crowd and became the champ that night. Yesterday signed a mega deal with the ufc to become the 2nd most pains Mixed Martial Artist ever. That’s sounds o like a legend to me.
