    C’mon, Italians don’t say “ciaos” answering on the telephone. We say “pronto” (ready).
    Here’s the story behind it: when operators were still a thing, they used to tell you “I’ll put you through when you are ready”. So you answered “ready” and that’s how it started.

      As someone from Oceania, Micronesia, Melanesia, and Polynesia get me too.
      The politics between the countries is crazy, because Australia "heads" most of the smaller islands - they represent Oceania internationally with the addition of New Zealand, usually - and mines all of the oil, natural gas, and petroleum from their lands. I wonder why the Indigenous elders don't like Australia :/

  • @OopsIDidItAgainUh
    @OopsIDidItAgainUh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    2:02 calling movie "Picture" is not a Hindi thing - that's just an Indian English thing.
    Some words, phrases and sentence arrangements in our English are different from that of native English speakers. This can be because we tend to directly translate those words and sentences from our native languages to English. The Hindi word for movie is "chalchithr", which means "moving pictures" (but Hindi speakers generally don't use "chalchitr"). In many major Indian languages, the word for movie is translated to "moving pictures". So, I guess that's how Indians began referring to movies as pictures. This is not a reliable info - just my observation. But nowadays many people say only movies.

    Fun fact about flags: the colors (tricolore) red, white and blue come from the royal blood line which goes back to ancient Egypt where 2 pharaoh houses joined in a pact, one of which was called the red house and the other was called the white house (represented by the pharaoh crown colors). If they would go to war they would use the blue war crown. Their descendents make up the world's royalty and they choose these colors for their realms in different variations. That's why for example the civil US flag has just red and white and the war flag (they are always at war) has blue in it.

    The problem comparing turkish and british tea intake is the cup size. At least three turkish tea cups fit into one british tea mug.

    2:34 “hola” is exclusively Spanish. Portuguese people say on the phone “estou?” or just “tou?”, which means “I am (here)”. It also depends a lot on the situation. PS: ich mag deinen Kanal sehr viel, ich selbst kann vier Fremdsprachen und zwar Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch, Spanisch, vielleicht ein bisschen Italienisch (aber nicht viel) und meiner Muttersprache ist Portugiesisch.

    My advice to you is to learn Arabic for reasons, including that it is the most beautiful language in the world, spoken by 22 countries as an official language, and it is one of the most important six languages of the United Nations. It is an important language in trade, tourism, culture, politics, literature, understanding ancient history and understanding the most widespread religions beside Christianity.
    Good luck to you

      Living in Sanjak(if you don't know where it is, I am truly offended)
      Jk jk. Everytime I go outside or at night I gotta dope up with some Turkish Chai. At least 1 Cup. But when I cook it at home you damn know I am gonna drink at least 5 cups. That is a norm. Only time when I drink less Chai at home is probably when I want to go to the Gym or something like that.

    2:06 Yes it quite true but it would be more relatable for 90's kid (or even older) because at that time word 'Picture' was very common while referring to movies. My parent's, my grandparents all say it 'picture' instead of movie . But now new generation refer it movie (btw Picture is not a Hindi word)
