As a German family, we of course don’t use use the Home Mini set to English, I just changed it for this video. But all the commands work the same way in German and English.

Brian Alex does goggle works in Spanish? What’s the deal about the blinking problem? Doesn’t work if u blink?
Yes it does and you exactly got the point with that second one. It takes some practice but with a shelf full of eye drops the experience really isn't that bad.

Brian Alex my mini goggle only works on Spotify. What to do for command. Where do I change the language
like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, th-cam.com/users/postUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....
Just got mine, and after some setup (I'd say this requires some time to work properly) I really love it. Definately worth the money!

dang great channel! im surprised you are so small! I would recommend recording yourself sitting at a desk, and maybe putting egg cartons on the walls to help your sound quality. Or upgrade your mic. Other than that amazing video! I subbed

What’s the point of setting up your voice when Google answers anyones voice? My Mini answered your questions as I watched this video!
When you register people it can tell them apart and read their specific calendar or access their personal playlists. It's for multiple people in one household.
EBOgadgets Thanks but my roommate told Google to stop the music and it worked. He has not yet set up his voice.
Johnny Bee it will differentiate between calendars, music, contacts and stuff specific to your phone. Otherwise it listens to anyone's commands.

You mentioned that you can hard pair the Google home mini with another speaker so that it always outputs to that speaker. How do you do that?
+Bobby Flores You select "Settings" on the Google Home Mini in your Home App, click "Media Playback" and then select the speaker you want under "Listen on".
You've done it when you ask Google Assistant to play a video on a topic and it plays your video ;)

+michael jeacock I have this speaker since two years ago. But they're often on sale, there are great deals on Google cast speakers, because they're not that popular.
i was referring to the actual google home mini's but that is also good to know. mini's are currently £34 this week until black friday. (dont know what that is in euros)
Dont believe it does, but will purchase one, today. All I need is just one? And, do I connect the Chromecast audio to the tv or sound system, so they can both be controlled by the mini? Thanks so much for your help.
+Abel Charles You'd unfortunately need a normal Chromecast (the one with HDMI) for the TV and a Chromecast Audio connected to the sound system. But if your sound system has bluetooth, you can connect it through that, too.
When connect smart light with google mini , do u need a hub to connect all the light or not ?

I'd not say this is JUST a speaker anymore. I'd say these are more like "control centers" for your house when you have accessories for it.

Hey partner, do you use your sony wifi speaker and chromecast audio with the sony music center app? Is your wireless setup using chromecast to synch your sony wifi speaker with with the other chromecast audio speakers and are all the speakers in sych and not lagging or have a delay between eachother?
I only used the Sony app to set the speaker up and then uninstalled it. Grouping is done through the Google Home app with other Chromecast devices. And no, there is no lag. If there is, you can also adjust the latency manually.
Hi, great video! Got a question: I ordered my Google Home Mini yesterday and still searching for Philips Hue Alternatives. They are great but I got a problem, the Hue Bridge needs an LAN-Connection and we don't have a router with that yet. Do you maybe know a good working alternative to use, without the need of a bridge, that I can use, until we got a new router?
LIFX bulbs don't require a bridge. They are however not as versatile and more expensive than Hue bulbs. I'm surprised that your router doesn't have Ethernet jacks though. And still, you could connect the bridge to it by using a WiFi repeater with an Ethernet jack which allows you to connect wired devices to the router by WiFi. They're like $20.
Thank you a lot! Right, didn't think of a bridge, great idea, but will definitely look into LIFX as well.
But bare in mind that the cost of LIFX (like $70 a bulb) can add up quickly. Hue works with any Zigbee bulbs, there are some Osram RGB ones for like $30. So it will be cheaper in the long run.

No, Google Assistant doesn't work without WiFi - but you could still use it as a dumb Bluetooth speaker.
Hey how did you pair a room with a person ? Because when i say in french "Turn on the lights of my room", it turns on all the lights :(
You name the Room "X's Room", so "chambre de X" should probably work. And then if X talks to it it works. At least in English and German that's how it works.
Oh ok ! At first i named my room "Chambre d'Alexis" instead of "Chambre de Alexis" because we don't say "de" if the first letter of the next word is a vower x) I'll try tomorrow, thx bro !
Well how I understand it, "chambre d'X" should work. But yeah, maybe it's not smart enough to know that "d'" means "de". Are you sure it telling apart the voices works in french?
So i tried and it failed lol. It turns on all the light who are inside rooms. I tried it with my mother and when we both asked "What is my name ?", google could say if it was me or my mother. However, it fails when we ask about our job/work adress and of course if we ask to turn on the lights in OUR personal room :/ Maybe it's not yet available in France idk
Hm, that interesting and unfortunate. But the room setup with all the lights being configured in the right rooms in the Home app is ok and you also both linked your Google accounts?

Yes, it obviously needs a WiFi connection to work.

Plus, u are the only TH-camr that has mentioned the software quirks about having to use both the google home app and the google assistant app to play with settings. What’s up with that google!? They need to stream line it better. But other than that, I love my google automated home. cheers.
+James Perez I think the robotic voice has to do with the microphone reverb, I filmed this in our reasonably large and empty living room.

You literally compared the sound from the google home MINI (mini means small) so your comparing a tiny “donut size” speaker to a speaker that is as big food tray but thicker. What do you expect to win a sound comparison. And by the way the speaker is really good when at a yell-type talk and you can adjust the bass and treble through the google home app.
+Josh Jimmy I think I've said this before, but the point I wanted to make was not the sound quality for the size, which as you said is quite good. What I wanted to demonstrate is that listening to music on it is not the most pleasant experience, as it just isn't the best speaker.

+Abel Charles In the Home App (the one you use to set it up) there is a settings option called Paired bluetooth devices.
Says it has not so good audio compares it to a much larger much nicer speaker

Why does everyone complain about the micro USB power cord? I mean it's not a smart phone that you need to charge faster.
+Connor McDermott It's non reversible, easy to break (especially on the Home Mini) and it's always good when power cords are interchangeable, since USB-C will be the future standard.
Cause 90% of them are needy millennial snowflakes who dont even know what power assisted steering does. Personaly i couldent care less about what power cord is used it is not going to be plugged and unplugged all the time is it?
Honestly just buy a bunch of usb-c cables from AliExpress or something, they're $3 each.
