Due to self esteem issues and confidence problems, this is a big video to make. I wanted to have a go. I edited a few things out as they seemed to be covered by others. Eg. I want to finally do my TED talk (I turned down that opportunity in 2016, so I want to eventually do it!) but I said I wanted to talk across the world. Regardless of the self esteem woes, I’m doing what I can. This is more of a bookmark, what I’d love to do. X
don't overthink it. make it simple and just do it. perhaps then in time you get to do what you really want to do. first you have to show people that you can do it. you don't really need money to do it. www.nyfa.edu/student-resources/best-free-open-source-animation-software/ www.creativebloq.com/graphic-design/free-graphic-design-software-8134039
Low self esteem and the fear of failure and embarrassment has stopped me from doing many things. As I get older (I’m now 44) I regret more and more letting it take such control of my life. My wish for you is that you have no regrets. x
Would this TED talk be about Trich or Mental Health? Also, you don't need to worry so much about your age. You've achieved quite a lot already, despite a few setbacks. At 25 you're still young, there's time for your bucket list and the rest.
As someone who is going blind and is learning Braille, TAKE YOUR TIME. It takes about three years or so until your body actually can do the feeling it needs to! It takes a long time to learn! But it is absolutely amazing!
I've read lots about it, it's definitely something you have to train yourself to do. Sorry to read about you going blind - I'm not sure if you're the same person I spoke to this month about Molly Burke? (TH-camr/presenter and super motivational woman... She went blind at 14! Please check her out) Anything you could recommend would be awesome and thank you. xx
Regarding having children: You can always adopt if you hit menopause and still want to raise another human. You will definitely need more patience to work with a child whose history you had no part in, but remember that as an option in case you want it. I've personally come to the conclusion that right now, at 21, I would not have the patience to even deal with a child of my own. I have one cat, and even she drives me crackers sometimes, but she's 10x more independent than a toddler would be. I think I would be a bad parent if I tried to start doing it within the next year or so, and I don't know when I'll be satisfied enough with my own mental fortitude to start a family, but I will keep working at it until I get there. If I don't get there until after I reach menopause, then that's fine by me; plenty of kids out there already exist and need a loving guardian and mentor.
I think you can do a lot of these things. I honestly think you could do a ton of these things really well. Sometimes you have to start something without having a huge confidence in yourself. Sometimes as you do it, you find yourself becoming more confident. When I started my job, I wasn't confident at all with certain things. And now I'm almost 5 years in and I feel very confident in my ability to do my job. Not every day is easy. And not every day do I feel confident. But I took a leap. And it was worth it. You can do it Rebecca!
I adore the musicals you mentioned. Remarkable aspirations, I'm impressed you've ever been offered anything in the closed world of audibooks but then your voice is singular. You're looking lovely and you are lovely. Hugs, Beckie.
With Scotland you have roughly three good days where it’s not raining, speaking from experience as I’ve stayed in Scotland since I was born, it’s a beautiful place.
Hey beckie, i discovered you today while being bedridden with illness and i am so glad i have found your channel! You are such a breath of fresh air and super relaxing to watch :) so thank you for existing!!
Oh my goodness I love that book!! Would love a video of you talking about it. I read it when I was ill a while ago and I couldn't put it down, never met anyone else who liked it as much!
i would recommend finding some friends who want nice pictures of themselves and will kind of push you into photographing them. that's how i got over my anxiety of photographing other people :)
I'm late to watch this, but I'm a British sign language student and it's such a different and expressive way of communicating! It has such an incredible culture and community! I can't express enough how worth learning it is, you should 100% go for it. :)
When I wrote some sort of a bucket list like a year ago, it barely had anything on it, basically just "have cats, travel, write a book" but you've given me some inspiration
I sign BSL and it’s an amazing thing but please don’t compare it with dancing don’t worry it’s only a mistake but people often make BSL a novelty and it’s not it’s a language but honestly don’t worry just educate yourself if your learning the language research the culture go to your local deaf cafe have fun with it ☺️ 👍
Good suggestion. Before that, I'd recommend getting your Open Water qualifications in Thailand. It's cheaper and the groups are smaller, so you learn faster. You can also swim with the Whale Sharks and Manta Rays at Koh Tao.
I moved to South Florida from New York at the end of 2005. While I have traveled up to Orlando many times throughout the year I have NOT gone to Disney World. Kind of weird being so close and not going. Hope you find that special person to go with one day. If you do change your mind about children one day, but the whole child birthing thing remains unappealing, you can always consider adaption. A friend of mine has done that and she loves her children just as much as if she birthed them herself.
You can live and work in a foreign country temporarily if you use or become a Workawayer. Basically you volunteer at someone's home in exchange for food and accommodation. And it's a great way to learn a new language as you'll be in the home environment. Workaway sets it up for you but you have to do some things yourself like get your own visa and stuff. I haven't done it but know of people who have.
I’m sorry you’re going through a time of low self-esteem. I just wanted to let you know that I love your content and the way you think so deeply about things and I hope that the confidence in yourself blossoms through. 😊
Elsewhere!!! I never hear anyone talking about that book, but it's so, SO good and it truly found me at the right time of my life. I was in a book subscription thing and you were sent a book a month. I had cancelled my subscription, but still got sent Elsewhere (which was the book for the following month) and when my mum rang them up, they were like "Our bad, keep it free of charge." If it wasn't for getting it sent to me by accident, I'm not sure I would've read it. And it truly is amazing!
Now I am curious about BSL, I have learned and forgotten soo much ASL. I really need to find someone to practice with. I am new to your videos but I have been enjoying them.
In terms of annimation, one of my favourite animators right now is @_hannahjacobs_animation on Instagram! She recently did some work with Dodie :) I really admire her stuff but don't really know how to do this style of animation myself, though I would love to
Funny since 'moving to France' one day is also on my bucket list. Working in Disneyland Paris is on my bucket list, even though it seems difficult to get hired by Disney. I already speak the language but it needs to be updated, so improving French is on my list as well It's very hard to get rid of your accent if English is your native language, but you can stil become fluent and just speak with the accent so don't let that discourage you :)
The flash backs in this made me feel old! Been watching you for more years than I remember! University at least? I loved elsewhere for years too!! If I had the confidence, I’d recommend it to anyone I passed on the street. I love the storyline and the pictures it creates in my head (I’m sure there’s a technical term for it) :)
A friend of mine is on holiday in New Zealand at the moment. Earlier today she posted pictures of her visit to the Lord of The Rings set (Hobbiton). I am insanely jealous! It’d be great if you get to go there!
At 25 I didn't want kids either. I was really career oriented (still am) and had so much I wanted to do and couldn't really see how kids would fit into that picture. Now I'm 30 and my husband and I decided to have a baby. I'm not a baby person and never liked other people's kids but definitely my view changed on kids as time went on. Family relationships are important and we wanted children to share our lives with and grow old with and watch grow. It definitely feels like there's a hole in our home now. God willing it will be filled soon.
Loads of countries (including Canada) have working holiday programs where you can go for a couple of years whilst you're under the age of 30 and they'll let you have a job to fund your travelling and sightseeing while your there!!
No pressure, but I would love to hear more about why you’re wanting to think more on the topic of children. I chose to voluntarily go through the process of sterilization by tubal ligation this past year, and I’m curious about why someone, who as been as adamant as you have, would change their mind.
You would be amazing on an audiobook or something similar! I used to be really nervous about photographing people. Now it’s almost all I do. Haha Keep up the ambitions!
Few minutes into the video. About braille: if you want to sight read it, it’s just a matter of memorizing the alphabet but if you want to finger read you have to do sensitivity training. It’s awesome you want to learn braille (and sign language, I know some ASL)
Why don't people believe that you have low self-esteem? Just because you have kind of a bubbly personality? I don't get it. It's not like it's something you can physically see. Also: Disney is lovely with someone. Been twice with a boyfriend. 10/10 would recommend.
This is a great list! I feel it sits on the border between realistic and unrealistic, which is perfect for a bucket list- you need to have things that are doable and you need to really work towards. 😄
I think if I were you, I would pick five of those things, and try to do them in the short term. Digital art and children's book reading sounded the most immediately doable, so maybe try them first. Maybe get the least daunting digital art setup out there (like a Chromebook Pro and Infinite Painter), and just start messing around with it. You have a beautiful, soothing voice, and perfect, elegant diction, and a definite flare for the dramatic. Maybe start out reading a fairly short children's book, and see how that goes, or a short story within a children's anthology. I would love to know whether you know some of the UK TH-camr illustrators I subscribe to, some of whom are also dealing with periodic issues with confidence and self esteem. Anyway, I think I would try to do five in the next few months, and forget the rest for now, just to get some done.
I live a mile away from dragon film studio in Wales were they film doctor who, they are always looking for people send them a cv, you never know you may be able to tic one off your list
In terms of exploring Scotland, I really recommend the isle of Mull because I want there about two years ago and it was amazing. It's an island in the west coast but it's beautiful. In addition, I live in Scotland and in my opinion the best time of year in terms of weather is May because it is very sunny and not too hot aswell. If not Mull, then I recommend Torridon due to its amazing sounding and pretty views. I went there in June and the weather was really good but again it is a bit of luck.
I don't have back problems, like I know you do, but I took gymnastics when I was 3 or so (I had to quite quite young after my parents broke up with transport issues) and at nearly 20 I am still flexable enough to suck my big toe! I don't because its gross but I'm fairly proud I physically can when most people I know can't even sit cross legged on the floor any more :)
Your eyelashes are so pretty 💖 also I saw Mary Poppins too, it was brilliant, particularly the stagecraft and I wish they would revive it especially with the film sequel coming out!
You've accomplished so much and are still prepared to keep on fighting the good fight - I've never been so moved or motivated by anybody, what is your secret?? :P It's been a long time since I've written music & it's weird, I've been thinking the very same thing, and you should do *what you want to do.* Don't let other people pressure you into having children, take your time to focus on yourself first! I've been pressured to do a lot of things, but I always remember who I am and what I want to do... (Selfish me, but positive, happy me!) I love watching your videos!
On the issue of having kids - As of right now (I'm 19) I do not want kids, and neither does my boyfriend. However, it is in the back of my mind, as you said. I am also terrified of being pregnant, giving birth, etc. However, I don't know how everything works in the UK, but adopting is definitely an option, should you choose to ever want kids but still fear childbirth. Just an option. Things I've been thinking about lately :)
I'm curious if you've ever investigated volunteering with some of the organizations that might help you along with your goals. Especially the theatre, art, sign language and Braille goals. As a shy, anxious person, volunteering has pushed me out of my shell and taught me a lot of things about myself and others and helped me gain skills I probably wouldn't have otherwise. Also I've made contacts that have helped open up other opputunities and I've had the chance to open the door for others in a bunch of cool ways. Sorry for the unsolicited suggestion - just something I thought of while watching
Please talk more about theatre on here, I love it!! The book of mormon is amazing!!! (you should also check out andrew rannells in the falsettos revival!)
I really wanna go back to Canada, I used to live there and it was such a magical place (I lived in Toronto), none of less it's a beautiful country with lovely people, you should go visit!
Is your P.O Box still in use? I'm just checking in case it's changed since your move I'm looking forward to watching this video, after I take my cat to the vets. :)
Relating to the part of the video where you spoke about having children, have you ever considered adopting or fostering? I've never desired to have biological children; not because of the pain and revolting-ness of giving birth (it does scare me, but epidurals are enough to pacify me on that one!) but because I have such a passion for helping people in need. And taking care of a vulnerable child is one of the most beautiful ways to help humanity, in my opinion. If you're not keen on dealing with young children or babies, you can apply to adopt/foster whatever age you'd like, including teenagers. Maybe that would be something you would be interested in!
I'd love to go to see all the stuff from Lord of The Rings in NZ. It looks absolutely beautiful. I totally agree with you on this point. I think you can do a lot of these things though, especially the audio book, your voice is so soothing! Also, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see you on Doctor Who, especially with the female doctor coming in. That'd be absolutely amazing!! I'm a HUGE fan of the show.
I wanted to change the world once myself, but life has had other plans. everyone keeps telling me to never give up, but i feel this time that i have given up, i'm almost 45 now.
I always loved the idea of setting up my own cat sanctuary as well!! ‘Katie’s Cattery, Home for Cats’. It’s always been a little fantasy of mine. 😊 I’ve had 2 years at home after college because of extreme depression/ocd/trich etc. And am hoping to go in September to do Eng Lit with creative writing. I then want to do post grad Opera and either perform in operas or musicals. I understand the struggle of having a number of passions and wanting it so much that you’re almost scared that if you try you’ll fail. And if you don’t try you can’t fail. But you also can’t succeed. I really get the struggle. I don’t know how you can work through the low self-esteem, Becky. But you should try to push yourself (Ik it’s so hard) because you really have SO MUCH to offer the world! You are talented and You should push yourself for you. You deserve it! Good luck! Much love 💗💗💗 xxxxxxx
Pretty sure that if you come to Quebec, we won't mind you speaking french with an accent. I mean, so many people come only speaking english because we have a reputation of being bilangual but we really do appreciate when someone makes the effort :) Some people may switch to english to accomodate but if you tell them that you want to practice your french, they'll be very helpful :) We're like that!
South Africa is gorgeous 🙌🏻 You’d love it. Also, I’ve heard that if you read 4 chapters of the Bible a day you can finish it in a year (obviously it would take longer as you take time to digest but if you want a quick full flip-through, this would work) ☺️
Hello Rebecca, I’ve been a follower of yours for 4 years now and I’m glad you’re talking more about the lack of confidence. I can totally relate. I have been struggling with depression, anxiety and very unstable emotions but I’m doing very well now. And I’d like to recommend you a book, it’s called “A little book of contentment” by Leo Babauta. It was really eye opening for me and I hope you find it helpful. Take care ❤️
That's quite an eclectic list and all very you. I can't think of many of those that are too outlandish or unrealistic either. You'd better start to make a start . Which one is first?
You may use this video by Jessica Kellgren-Fozard for one of your bucket list wishes. Or follow Rikki Poynter, she's great too. :) Love you. Keep that smile on your face. :) th-cam.com/video/atLzFvoxJh8/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/users/rikkipoynter
You're cute. Love your hair. Love your attitude. I would like to speak French, but I doubt it will be great. I cam stumble through reading French. You're really going. I think that was a few buckets worth. My bucket list is quiet. Much smaller. But its in the a cubbard waiting on me to get it together already. Im working on it I swear. Glad I found you. Ive already subscribed. Im only about twenty or so minutes into your scene but I am digging it I just want to reiterate how adorable you are. And now I will shut up so as not to make you feel uncomfortable.
classical indian music singing does not employ vibrato. neither did the Roches (quirkily creative sister musical trio)! how about cooking trifle? hosting newsnight and/or countdown!?!?
Come to The United Arab Emirates, Dubai and Abu Dhabi 😁💙 also it’s surprising about the audio thing as me and others that comment here think that your voice is relaxing!
There’s so many other ways that you can have children Rebecca. You can adopt, you can foster, or you could have a surrogate mother or even a sperm donor. Don’t think that you have to have one of your own and put yourself through something you’re kind of afraid of. There’s so many routes you can go
I wanted to say a couple of things, first off you might think about adopting...that's my future plans. I don't want to breed but I would like to change a life and there are sooo many kids that would loved to be loved that you might like to consider it :) The other thing is the silly proposal that will never come true but I can't help asking you out to a Disney adventure in Florida :D

My cat answered when you meowed :D
I love this, very inspirational !
I want to do sign language too! But it confuses me how there are different kinds..
I love this!
I'd love to do a video very much like this.
And yes! Please come to New Zealand!!!
Much love! Xoxo
ah, your background is so esthetically pleasing! ^^ the box is really nice touch!
I hope you fulfill most if not all of those wishes ^^
On the issue of having kids - As of right now (I'm 19) I do not want kids, and neither does my boyfriend. However, it is in the back of my mind, as you said. I am also terrified of being pregnant, giving birth, etc. However, I don't know how everything works in the UK, but adopting is definitely an option, should you choose to ever want kids but still fear childbirth. Just an option. Things I've been thinking about lately :)
If you can, learn BSL through signature! I've done 3 levels through their awards and it's been an amazing experience
If you want to learn sign then sse (sign supported English) can be really good! It's also easier as it follows our grammar system. Xx
This definitely inspired me! Thank you and I hope you achieve all of these!!!
You'd be such a perfect Disney princess ! And your voice would match the role too ❤️Disney World needs you
I love red bush tea so much it’s delicious!
Please talk more about theatre on here, I love it!! The book of mormon is amazing!!! (you should also check out andrew rannells in the falsettos revival!)
5:06 that R sounds so Irish haha ;)
You would be amazing as an audiobook reader/actress!
I really wanna go back to Canada, I used to live there and it was such a magical place (I lived in Toronto), none of less it's a beautiful country with lovely people, you should go visit!
Is your P.O Box still in use? I'm just checking in case it's changed since your move
I'm looking forward to watching this video, after I take my cat to the vets. :)
POLAND? YOU'LL BE TALKING IN POLAND? I'M FROM POLAND! Where are you going to be, when? Can I see you?
I recommend you to read "How To Stop Worrying And Start Living" by Dale Carnegie, a Christian psychologist. So good! Especially an audio version!
What are the seven stories? I found that intriguing :)
I always loved the idea of setting up my own cat sanctuary as well!! ‘Katie’s Cattery, Home for Cats’. It’s always been a little fantasy of mine. 😊
I’ve had 2 years at home after college because of extreme depression/ocd/trich etc.
Mom you’re so calming and helpful in any situation
Oh wow. The way you pronounce perfect is so very perfect. Looking gorgeous as always too.
Huge plans. Better focus on something important.
Something that will make you very happy :)
South Africa is gorgeous 🙌🏻 You’d love it. Also, I’ve heard that if you read 4 chapters of the Bible a day you can finish it in a year (obviously it would take longer as you take time to digest but if you want a quick full flip-through, this would work) ☺️
Right time, right reason, and right publisher for a book (book series or graphic novel?) You would be a fantastic owner of a cat sanctuary!
In Canada, unfortunately French is dying and it's really only in Quebec which breaks my French kid heart.
I have been to Disneyland Paris and that was good finger x for you list tho keep us updated tho x
You've been to Poland and I didn't know that?! How could I miss you in here... :( I wish I could have a word with you!
Love your videos
That's quite an eclectic list and all very you. I can't think of many of those that are too outlandish or unrealistic either. You'd better start to make a start . Which one is first?
Love your personality💐.
You may use this video by Jessica Kellgren-Fozard for one of your bucket list wishes. Or follow Rikki Poynter, she's great too. :) Love you. Keep that smile on your face. :)

Got a link to this video 23 second after it went live... That's not like the TH-cam algorithm... What's going on?
stx I know! I clicked the video when it had been live for 15 seconds
Gosh, that's very unlike TH-cam nowadays! x
Im only about twenty or so minutes into your scene but I am digging it
I just want to reiterate how adorable you are.
Come to scotland pleaseeee
You can go to Disney world, Florida with me!! Lol
There’s so many other ways that you can have children Rebecca. You can adopt, you can foster, or you could have a surrogate mother or even a sperm donor. Don’t think that you have to have one of your own and put yourself through something you’re kind of afraid of. There’s so many routes you can go
I never knew you liked LoTR!!!! 😍❤😍❤😍❤😍❤
What made you change your mind about having children?
I wanted to say a couple of things, first off you might think about adopting...that's my future plans. I don't want to breed but I would like to change a life and there are sooo many kids that would loved to be loved that you might like to consider it :)
The other thing is the silly proposal that will never come true but I can't help asking you out to a Disney adventure in Florida :D
Always dream big!
Come to Canada!! 🍁
I can do the splits, but I can't touch my toes. I guess I have always been kind of flexible but touching my toes... that is the hardest
Some people are more flexible than others!
Your 2014 hair is so close to your hair now!! Ahhh.
