This was my favorite AnJ fight. The emotions going in, Kim’s backstory and trauma, Joe’s horrific weight loss, the fight itself. It was truly an amazing arc for Joe to become champion. I damn near cried when Joe finally realized why he kept getting up and continued to fight
@@amvtime9676 I remember asking how strong is Joe? Enduring that horrific weight loss, feeling mentally inferior to Kim and took an absolute beating. He became my favorite anime MC after that
Yeah, Joe is pure heart, he is not the most talented boxer of the show for sure, but he is so brave and mentaly strong, and his chin, well, he is just amazing, a pure monster...
@@amvtime9676 Yeah but his determination to not give up is incredible. I don’t think you can mentally break Joe in anyway. Even the top MCs have ways to be broken mentally. But Joe is on a whole other level.
this was really a defining victory for Joe. His perseverance and will could shatter anyone else's. Kim's backstory had Joe confused in a way, however, he got to know that pain and trauma is a part of life and Rikiishi had invited it for him. Seeing Joe go through what Rikiishi went through really showed how much he had grown, though not much as a technical boxer but as a person. I personally believe that Joe could have become a greatly proficient Duran-esq boxer, however, he showcased his main goal from the start: to burn till nothing is left but ash, and that didn't necessary mean boxing but, rather, using boxing as the means to achieve that.
I have a question for Ashita no Joe and hajime no ippo fans... If Ippo kill Miyata in a boxing match, how do tyou think Ippo will handle that? I mean, Joe depression after killing Rikishi took him to the streets again, try to cameback, again to streets and then rise like a start.
Ippo would be traumatised for live, he wouldn't come back. Joe isn't like him since his motives and will are far stronger and more defined than those of Ippo will ever be.
Joe went through so much before and after the weigh-ins. Bro fasted himself so much to the point he was skin and bones. After bro did the weigh ins he literally still did roadwork and got his blood drained from him just to pass the final weigh ins.
God i always loved the moment at 3:43 even if Joe was practically domesticated by society at this point he'll still fight dirty just to gain an advantage.
He was not domesticated by anyone. The fact that Yabuki became calmer is part of his development as a character. From a troubled teenager to a man who loves boxing
Strangely enough, in the manga Joe was being demolished by Kim, he was unable to land a single hit until the moment he realices Rikishi went trough hell just to fight him, from there the fight goes as the anime follows.

I'm completly agree, the history of Kim is amazing and the effort and sacrifice of Joe make his victory even more satisfactoy.

Wow, nice comment Bro
It is what was in my mind)
Fighting in that state, after loosing so much weight driven only by his spirit, Joe 😭😭
This was the hardest fight for Joe. Fighters go through hell to make weight
He win because goat 🐐🐐
Joe have come far, maybe not the most talented boxer, but he definitely have more spirit.
Joe o personagem de anime mais humano que eu conheço, um exemplo pra min e pra muitos outros.

I think AMV community deserves more Ashita no Joe vids

Awesome amv and a really spot on choice of song, in the context of Kim and war.

Good fight Joe against the dangerous puncher Kim. Kim' backstory is pretty dark

Pretty sure if ippo returns to ring and ends up killing someone, no matter who it is, he's gonna quit boxing for sure
