    I worked in center city from 1971-2014, took a variety of public transportation lines from NE Philly, saw many changes. I know you could walk from Gallery to 17th St underground. When the Comcast tower was built, you could enter on Arch between 18th & 19 & walk through to 11th St underground. I don't think I'd want to do it nowadays!

    Hate to break the news to you but Malls are a dying breed. I have the Willow Grove and Montgomery Mall near me and they don't have the crowds like the 1980's. Once the internet arrived crowds have been dwindling every year....people shopping at home.

      I grew up near neshaminy Mall and it's kinda shocking they're still in business.
      Down to one anchor store, Boscovs.
      Now I am closer to Franklin Mills aka Philadelphia Mills.
      They are probably barely hanging on

      @@tomv5988 Think Boscovs is closing stores (10?) this year, 5 in PA. Sears at the Willow Grove mall is closing early this year....Spring I think.

    I haven’t been inside this mall since about the early 2000’s! I was trying to orient myself to where old stores were back in the day on the lower floor! (Kee bee’s, Sam goody) lol

    Jesus you fell asleep in the sub way before captain??? I was down there and in the gallery every week all the time from sun up to sun down and the things I saw (especially at night!) were awful absolutely horrific.. You really are built different man! 😬

    I walked the whole length of the concourse a few days ago. The city hall tunnel is gated off though. Why is the city hall tunnel closed?

    That trolly used to be the CTA(Chicago Transit Authority)Green Hornet trollies when CTA discontinued in 1958 most of not all the trollies were destroyed and most that were saved was sent to Philadelphia SEPTA system

    The Old Lit Brother’s!!! My God, it looks nothing like it did from my childhood. I grew up in Port Richmond and my mom would take us to see Santa, and the Christmas Village!! Awesome, I really enjoyed the video but you wouldn’t catch me dead walking under there. I’m a devout Catholic and chicken. 😂

    It's a pain in the ass patco has the the tunnel closed between the broad street line cause of the homeless population camping out

    • @tomv5988
      @tomv5988 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I guess the solution now is to let them campout.
      That's the idea now.
      In other words that's what the experts came up with.
