@JayMalone Albums are mixed/recorded as if to be pressed on vinyl, whether or not they eventually are. There are labels that exclusively release vinyl and many artists have direct control during recording, often doing it themselves. In such a situation they can choose to record to tape. There's a movie coming out called "blood, sweat, and vinyl" that I hope to see. I'm not a vinyl-only person, but vinyl is resisting the ages far better than CD's. Cassettes still get pressed! There's hope!
I always say that the 60s, 70s & 80s were probably the best time to grow up in because to me (in this is just my opinion) they had it all. everything was more celebrated. more funner ..less stress & drama ..I could be wrong. But one thing i can say was they sure had some Great Music back then. But now the way music is going. becoming so widespread & experimental to higher extent (because of technology advancement) I think I'm beginning to love this generation of music just as equally now.
I find it amusing to see all these reactions to this kind of music. I understand how this music could be classified as "shitty" but you could try to be a little more open. Everybody knows that when electric guitars first started playing people were like "This is just a really shitty guitar with twisted sound". I like to listen to Classic Music, Rock (don't like Punk very much but I get it) but I also like to listen to Neon Indian, just because it is so weird and different.
I looked at the outfits and just thought that they could be dating or something. Stripes? Blacks? white? All check. they even have their reds matching.
@JayMalone You are not looking hard enough. Everyone can find something they can latch onto. They still press records and I own some. I highly prefer pristine-sounding albums. I applaud your pessimism, but it is misplaced.
I have such nostalgia for Neon Indian at this point I can't even listen to his albums anymore they just bring up such sadness
Why
Aren't you a "smilephile" :)
nostalgia need only be marred in sadness if you have guilt about the present
such a smart guy
I just can't get enough of this adorable guy ♥
Its beautiful music which has soul and love behind it
I wish I could go back in time and witness all of it, all over again.
Christ this boy has a great eye, he allows himself to see properly

I'm also not a huge fan of this sound so this is not in defense of the music on this page.

Sigh. Even in 2010 music journalists have the wrong bloody idea what "Electro" is.
