I thought this week would never end, with so much work we did, another productive week, in the end everything worked out, everything is in its perfect place. Level is level
I have never seen anyone put so much thought into the ring beam, but I got to tell you, the way you are doing it should be adapted as a standard, all that work you are putting into it now, will make it perfect for when you put the sandwich roof tiles on. You are a master builder James, my hat is off to you sir.
It’s amazing how off they were with their Leveling 😂 when they built this building unless the earth shifted! Are you near a fault line? Here’s a trick I learned working with tubular Steel. Fill them with sand! Use some foam to cork the end and fill the tube packing it as best you can. It will add over 40% more strength!
Congrats on the 11 million views! Things are indeed taking shape, and everything is very level. 😂 I just finished my pantry closet. It's as level as it can be for my skill level. 🙂👍👍🇨🇦
Oh the village house. How nice to see it looking so good. The new site is an enormous job for 2 people. Anyone else working besides you and Jonathan? James you certainly have your work cut out for you, but you’re the can do guy (like James) a craftsman and creative soul. All the best. 😉💙
It is a big job, just two of us, occasionally Detlev, Cristina will be back on it soon. Jonathan is a keen apprentice and willing to learn so we iron out the mistakes, because, it’s all part of the learning process for him. All in good time he’ll get there 👍🏼
I was waiting for the rest of the video😂 and then suddenly I was looking at some lady building her wall😂 oops I enjoy the fun you 2 have while building and seeing so fast results!!! ❤
I see you cut off the tiles that were sticking out and then filled in the wall. A pain for sure, but well worth it! Once the roof sheeting is down you’ll want to run a grinder down just above the tiles running the length so you can tuck in a piece of metal flashing so the water runs onto the roof not down behind the wall. With some caulk gluing in the metal into the slot and nailing/screwing it down you have a water tight seal.
I watch with subtitles turned on because, after all, you are speaking British. Anyway, once in a while when you have just performed some task, the subtitle shows up and says "Applause"... 🙂
Nice work but personally I would not put these galvanized beams in direct contact with concrete. I have seen too many eventually rust. You can cover the area with special paint to prolong their lifespan.
Wouldn't It have paid to have a lorry pour in the concrete? You could have done the top, the floors & even the ground over the outside pipes all at the same time.

Keep listening and learning Johnathan 💪👍
looks like Jonathan is getting more and more into it, celebrating levels as much as you do. Apparently the coworker you needed.
He definitely getting there! Still lots to learn 😊
Jonathan whistling the tune from the pink panther…lol! He’s always so quiet! Then the level is level quote. 😂❤
Haha I don't speak English very well, so I stay quiet more
Your utter satisfaction and happiness at the levelness of your construction is lovely to see. Congratulations 🥳
Thanks so much! 😊
What an excellent helper Jonathan is.
He’s learning and is a great help! 👍🏻

You would hope so. 😊

No it was built like that.
Never heard of that one. I’ll have to check that out.
Thanks for the tip. 😎👍🏻
So perfectly prepared for concrete. That building is staying put for a long time.❤️🇨🇦
I hope so! 😎👍🏻
Great work again, nice to see someone who pays attention to things being straight and true 👌😁
Thank you. You know it! 😉
Loved the ‘reality’ shots, definitely James’s quirky humour 😂
Haha! It’s not all glamorous 😂😂
Love a job done right the first time. Yes indeed!! Jolly good 😁👍.
🥰🌿♥️
I absolutely dislike having to do things twice. It’s the quickest route to annoy me. 😊
Wow James, you & Jonathan sure have done a brilliant job, the outcome is going to be amazing ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you Jayne 😊

Hopefully you get as many views as you did on the villa. Lots of work as usual, and Jonathan had his white socks on 😂. 👌🏴
You never know! 😊
Hi James..making the rebar cages..very time consuming😊. Great progress👍💚from 🇯🇲
Thanks 👍
Those little moments of triumph- perfeita! 🍻
It’s a great feeling. 😊
Hello James! Great job!
What are the dimensions of the rafters?
Nice work but personally I would not put these galvanized beams in direct contact with concrete. I have seen too many eventually rust. You can cover the area with special paint to prolong their lifespan.
Good call, but I’m one step in front of you.😉
the sound of a creaking ladder is the same in every language
🤣
Good luck. Things are falling in Place now
Thank you Anna 😎👍🏻
Closer and closer to a roof.
It’s been a challenge, but now we can see the finish line on this roof. 😊
So is Johnathan Brazilian?🇧🇷
Oi João! Tudo bem?👍
Yea
Oh yea we meet again
I thought you were a little slow this week, but you beat everyone else. 😉😊😂
Hollow rafters: stoppers in both ends to prevent nesting by wasps/bees/etc?
If they can get through the concrete that’s covering the ends, I’ll gladly let them nest there 😉
Thanks James and Linda for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys 🙏 good work 👍😁💪👌👏
Thanks so much 🙏
You're level headed.
Haha! 😊
Thoes shots of the hills and forest around your home were amazingly beautiful 👏👏
Do you have an approximate time you will be finished?
The view is quite beautiful.
At this moment in time I don’t have a time, but it will be done to the best of my ability, that I’m sure of. 😉
@The-Quinta
OH, I'm sure and will be fantastic 👍👍👍👋
All that red dirt is iron in the soil, like the deep southern United States.
Yes it’s clay 👍🏻
And like my Australian outback.
I enjoy your video so much.is your home near this new property?I might be interested in learning more about the house and it’s price, please.
We are in the same village.which house are you talking about?
@@The-Quinta the big house with the court yard patio where you live 100 %.is it near the new property you are working on?
Yes we are in the same village
Is this box steel or box aluminium, mate? 🤔
It’s steel Martin 👍🏻
@@The-Quinta I can't find box steel in central Portugal anywhere. Pls help 🙏

Everything for a reason! 👍🏻
What happened to Skinny?!
He works elsewhere
