The OEM Toyota / Denso Knock Sensor is pretty expensive and a lot of the amazon listings are not the right ones. The part number for the OEM knock sensor is 89615-30050 if you can find it online, or at a local dealer.
Just a quick video showing how we fixed my friend's Lexus LX450 Land Cruiser with a P0325 Knock Sensor Circuit 1 Check Engine Light Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).
The original knock sensor was broken and the harness was melted, but we made it work with a small slide on connector. Not the right way to do it, but it worked and hopefully you get the idea on this one. The owner had already ordered an aftermarket knock sensor and that's what we used to get it to work and the check engine light stayed off. The Innova 5610 Car Scan Tool helped diagnose and erase the DTC along with confirming the repair after a test drive. It's been a week since we did this and he said that the light hasn't come back on.
Tools needed:
Jack and Jackstands
Something to take off the tire
Plastic clip removal tool for the splash shields
27mm deep socket
Universal wobble with extensions or maybe wobble extensions will work
Torque Wrench
12mm socket to remove ground cable and dipstick tube mount.
Electrical connectors
The torque spec for the knock sensor is 33 ft. lbs.
