What are symptoms of a bad knock sensor?

1:Check Engine Light (CEL) comes on
2:Engine misfire
3:Engine knock or ping
4:Poor fuel economy
5:Engine damage

Yea my GS400 is misfiring when its warm and it gave me the knock sensor code . I thought knock sensors didnt cause misfires though, thinking its spark plugs and coils. Did replacing the knock sensor fix the issue?
