With all the lovely work these two did....I ALSO LOVED THE CLOCK! Not only did they save an older clock...he got it working again and put it on the wall of the kitchen...awww so sweet! My daughter and her hubby did this type of two tone in their kitchen and used the same handles...her cabinets are white and light grey. She also mixed country style stuff which I found some items for her and she did alot with white pottery that has words on it also. She used an old window frame and made it into a chalk board for her kitchen for meal planning.
I went into a thrift store a few weeks ago and the whole time I kept seeing things that I did not need but I was like “what would Mr Kate use this for...” lol
Kate and Joey are the best. They do the project and then go the extra mile and do more in the dining room. Wish I could fly them out to NC to help me decorate and renovate my house. I could sure use the help. Just got this house and moved in this weekend and it really needs to be updated. Thanks for the renovation video Mr. Kate!

She has great style. It does prove that you can do things to improve without a lot of money involved. It helps to have a handy guy around to help with the more technical stuff though if you don't know exactly how to do it. Great duo here. I am lucky to have my husband who can do the more involved things that it takes and I have the style to make it all come together....we do projects like this in our renovations all the time. It does make me happy to find those diamonds in the rough....and it gives me satisfaction to give them make overs....and watch people react to it just like these ladies do.
We just renovated our kitchen over the holidays spending under $500! Painted cabinets grey, and peel and stick countertop and backsplash from Amazon (seriously looks amazing, and its a rental so I didn't want to spend more than that). Its amazing what a difference it makes!
I’ve been watching Mr Kate for about two years now and can finally try to redo my own room. I’ve taken a lot of my inspiration from the boho chic dorm bedroom video and I want to do a fake flower wall above my bed like in the Mr Kate studio. I even created a mood board and shopping board to plan out and style the room 😂 Wish me luck!

I took off all my cabinet doors, drilled holes for new knobs, painted everything, soaked the hinges, peeled off the paint layers, sanded them, painted them, and put it all back together in two days. It's like I have a new kitchen

Dont't worry, Im an architect that mostly does interiors and I literally never have to do anything you wouldnt be able to do. in non-tv world, we don't paint walls, put up lamps or anything :) You will find it's either talking to people or working up design on Sketchup , ArchiCad or Revit..

Great! I use Denby (what appears to be the green ceramic ware) to add a vintage feel to my home. A pitcher is a vase, and I use various pieces in two of the bathrooms. A salt and pepper elbow tray is used as a soap dish in the bath because it fits the shape of the tub--so it hold both the soap and my face brush. Denby comes in so many different colours that you can mix and match for interest. I use the covered soup bowls to hide small things that I need access to all the time (e.g., dental floss, etc.), as well as for powder. There's plenty of Denby and similar pottery on ebay.

May i recommend a shared room on a budget? My mom and I share a room with twin beds and I’ve been wanting to do something different and i need some Creative Weirdo Inspiration!! Also the beds come with their own drawers under so I don’t want to put them together cuz it limits our storage space.
Shared rooms, especially adult shared rooms, are a design dilemma that hardly ever gets addressed, except as a dorm room situation. But with an extended family adult shared room there may be a huge age gap within the room share, which ups the ante as far as pleasing the clients goes. It also makes it double hard to keep cohesion within the room as a design focus. This is a real mind bending, head scratching, concern for those living in an extended family situation since money, or lack of, is usually paramount. So yeah, this is almost like a dorm room share, but with a twist. Which makes it even more challenging. Are you up for it Mr. Kate? I'm throwing down the gauntlet. Show us what ya got.
I've wanted to set up a room for grandkids or guests to have their own storage spaces as they're staying here. I'm surprised by an earlier comment that the woman thinks it would limit storage(?) I would think it would be expanded. My Mom and I have added underbed storage containers.

May i recommend a shared room on a budget? My mom and I share a room with twin beds and I’ve been wanting to do something different and i need some Creative Weirdo Inspiration!! Also the beds come with their own drawers under so I don’t want to put them together cuz it limits our storage space.

Shared rooms, especially adult shared rooms, are a design dilemma that hardly ever gets addressed, except as a dorm room situation. But with an extended family adult shared room there may be a huge age gap within the room share, which ups the ante as far as pleasing the clients goes. It also makes it double hard to keep cohesion within the room as a design focus. This is a real mind bending, head scratching, concern for those living in an extended family situation since money, or lack of, is usually paramount. So yeah, this is almost like a dorm room share, but with a twist. Which makes it even more challenging. Are you up for it Mr. Kate? I'm throwing down the gauntlet. Show us what ya got.
I've wanted to set up a room for grandkids or guests to have their own storage spaces as they're staying here. I'm surprised by an earlier comment that the woman thinks it would limit storage(?) I would think it would be expanded. My Mom and I have added underbed storage containers.
